"Merryvale Assisted Living seemed really personable and they were informative with my questions. It's clean. It seemed to be a really nice place and the people living there liked it and said that they wouldn't go anywhere else. The price seems pretty fair."

"My mother is currently a resident and has been for the past 6+ years. I am appalled at the negative review that was given to Magnolias. That is totally NOT the experience my mother has had. My father visited her nearly every single day she has been there, well until his passing 10/30/14, and I know first hand myself what a nice, clean, and inviting place the Magnolias is. I know they have cared for my mother lovingly even when she hasn't been easy to be around. When my father passed recently, the staff cried with us, they loved him as much as they love her. When we asked if one of us girls could stay with her a few nights so she wouldn't have to be alone in her sorrow, not only did they feed us, they actually offered us another room with 2 empty beds or the option to bring another bed in her own room... At no extra charge. As for the food served, my daddy ate with her often and said the food was outstanding. The staff also makes most meals from scratch with a variety of meals served through out the week. They also accommodate my mother's diabetic needs and picky taste buds. In the next month or two we will have to move our mom out of the Magnolias because she needs to be closer to family. We only pray we are able to find a place for her as nice, kind, and caring as this place is. Please, before believing any negative comment about any facility, investigate the place yourself. Ask residents and their actual family about their experience at the facility. Don't just believe the first impression of a prospective client. It is not fair to your loved one or the facility. No place is 100% perfect 100% of the time. Maybe something was going on the day this other commenter came? Possibly. The review was just not fair or accurate for the long run. The Magnolias is wonderful! "

"Laties Personal Care was decent, but it had shared bathrooms, and we want to have a private bathroom. The price was comparable to others. "

"I went to Carriage Crossing Mt Zion. The tour was good. The staff was very polite. I was surprised about the size of the facility. It was much larger than it appeared from the outside. It was very clean, although they were going through some construction. It's just refurbishing the rooms. It seemed almost seamless. You couldn't tell that they were doing it, but that's what was going on. There was no additional noise or anything of that nature. It was being done in a very professional way, and the staff was very professional. The residents have the option for shared and private rooms. They showed me both dining rooms for the ones that had memory care, and both were very nice."

"My father-in-law will be moving in. We chose it because of the price and when we visited, it was brand new. It's very clean. They have several activities. They have art, church, Bible studies, and a swimming pool that they put them in a chair and lower them down to it. They have a little putting green, which my father-in-law has always been a golfer, and he was kind of excited about that (if he can get on his feet again and get going). They give everybody a thing that they wear around their neck in case they fall. They have an activity room so if you want to come and do birthday parties, they can do that. The rooms are very nice. They did not have any type of smell. They smelled very good and clean. They will come and get him five days a week and take him for physical therapy, or just exercising."

"My father has lived here for 3 years. There has been very little turnover in the caregiver staff, which is a real positive. They do seek to go the extra mile in meeting the needs of their client/customers. I would like to see them to a better job in cutting down on the sodium content for the meals served, which keeps them from currently receiving 5 stars. "

"Autumn Village II is modest in size, open to all income level, and not intimidating for people like my mother who's not really outgoing. She's able to have her own privacy. The staff there is remarkable. The food and their serving is adequate, and covers all food groups. "

"I toured Palm Shade Villa II. I was able to meet the owner and I was able to sit down and speak with her. She was a very pleasant lady and she seemed like a very caring person for the elderly. They had an individual room and everything was there. The facility was very clean, and the grounds were well-kept. There were quite a few vacant rooms, which tells me that there were not a lot of clients. There were only two residents that I was able to see. There was a library with books and stuff. If there was an emergency, they would call 911 and that's about it. In terms of doctor's appointments, we have to do that ourselves."

"The wonderful thing about the Woods is that is has a memory care area where they are more secure. It cost a little more, but they do have more assistance and more security. They have a walking area that is secured. The residents all seemed happy. I would highly, highly recommend their memory care area. "

"My father-in-law is moving to Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home. It was clean, quiet, and the grounds were well-kept. The staff was welcoming and sympathetic to the situation. I know that they offer a barber service once a month. They have a courtyard, a lawn, and gardens."
