"It was a beautiful facility, neat, and tidy, it looked clean, and it had the feeling of a hotel. I liked everything I saw there. They had snacks and juice available all day long for their residents. They could go and get some even if it wasn't meal time. I really liked it. They went out of their way walking me around and answering my questions. They spent a lot of time with me. They listen to the input from the residents, like whether they like the food or not. They try to cater to all their dietary needs, but at the same time they work hard to make the food flavorful. They had a wonderful staff. They spent a lot of time with me. I met two different ladies, one who walked me around in person, and one who I just talked to on the phone; they were both extremely pleasant."

"Mom is living at Augusta Gardens. The main thing why we chose this is because they allowed her to take her dog inside the facility. They do have lots of activities too, and it's close to a hospital. "

"I like the size of Benton House. It is not really large with only 60 studio suites. They also have spouses living together. The deciding factor to me is that it is like a huge family. We are invited to have lunch freely and talk with different residents. The food is institutional, not restaurant-style, but it is good. They have a very qualified coordinator that maintains the schedules of the residents. She is aware of what each person is going to do. Part of the memory care type is that they do drawing or painting. They manage the scheduled of the residents as well. My mom has been there since June 22. Benton House feels alive and vibrant. The staff is also more individualized. "

"Brookdale Augusta was nice. It was very inviting and homey. The room was empty when I came in, so I really couldn't judge how much furniture you could have in there, but it seemed comfortable enough. The bathroom was nice. The dining room was very inviting. They had activities while I was there, and they had a lot of participation, so they probably had good activities. It had carpets and did not looked like a hospital. "

"My parents were in Brookdale North Augusta. It's a very nice facility, although it was not a good fit for my parents. He had fallen and crushed three vertebrae in his back, so he was not able to really get around as well as he should for assisted living. And my mother has Alzheimer's but they do not have a memory care facility. The staff members were wonderful, they had a lot of staff that had been there for a very long time. So that says a lot to me. The dining area was very nice and the food was good. They have a nice courtyard in the middle of the facility, they have a large front porch with rocking chairs, and they have sidewalks that go around so the residents can get out and walk. It's just not a good fit for my parents. They were a little beyond assisted living."

"I didn't want to take my dad out of North Augusta, because his friends are there, his church is there, and his family is there. He picked them. They seem to care about him. It's also in the country, and there are trees that he's familiar with when he looks out the window. We're very pleased so far. He seems to enjoy the food and he's not complaining. That's one of the reasons we put him in there too, because they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That's something he's not getting at home. He lives by himself. He needed more attention as time goes by. Now he's getting breakfast instead of just a bowl of cereal. This morning he just had scrambled eggs, bacon, and a piece of toast with jelly on it. They also take the residents on several field trips."

"My mom has moved into At Home Senior Living of Thomson. It is wonderful. The director is a nurse, and she seems to be very hands-on. It is a little bit smaller community, but there are lots of activities going on. It has a higher ratio of caregivers to residents. The meals seem to be all home-cooked. There is a lot more attention paid to the residents. They have a monitoring system that they actually do. The staff members are responsive. The facility is nicely decorated, colorful, and clean. The residents are very involved. They just had a big Barbie party. They have pet therapy. They have a few independent games. The activities actually happened at the time that they are scheduled . They actually get the residents involved, and so instead of the same little group of residents that are willing to go all the time, they actually engage them and really try to get the residents."

"Silver Bluff Grove Senior Living was very welcoming. We were able to talk to the director. She gave us a tour of the facility as well as the dining facility, the memory care unit, their daily activities, and stuff like that. She was able to answer all our questions. The rooms were nice and clean. They're studio apartment size. They showed us the senior activities. They have some therapy, and there's a courtyard, too."

"I chose Hitchcock Square for my husband because it's close to my house. It's a studio. He has a big bath and a twin bed. The staff was very good. I would call them and they would come. They have a different variety of food every day but it isn't very good. The building is old but it's good enough."

"It was very nice and very clean. The staff was very nice and very helpful. I met the gentleman that runs it and the girl that gave us the tour. When we were there, they were serving lunch, and it looked pretty good. The dining room was very nice. They had a one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and studio. They have all kinds of activities. Once a month or twice a month, they go out shopping and things like that. I was very impressed with the whole thing."

"We placed my mother in Tapley's Personal Care Home. Overall, this facility is fine. This place is a converted residential home; however, it's very clean. It's also located right in Evans and it's very close to grocery store and shopping area. The staff is very good and very polite. They do a very good job. They take extremely good care of my mother. Mom is in a nice semi-private room. She has her own closet and her own TV. Food is excellent. They're homecooked meals and they're very healthy food. In terms of activities, everyday they're doing some type of playing games. They keep their clients active. They also do field trips. "

"I did look at Elmcroft of Martinez. It looked pretty nice, and I might consider it later because, right now, I am happy where I am. I just really went in, talked to them for a few minutes, and picked up some literature. The people I talked to were very helpful. I haven't seen the room, but I told them that I will do that later. It is quite updated -- the structural part. "

"After my father passed away last year my 91 year old mom decided to finally move into an assisted living facility. I was in charge of going to all of the different places that offered the care she was looking for. After extensively researching several we felt that The Claiborne was by far the best and a nice bonus was that it was less expensive than the others. Everyone there is very attentive to her needs and her health has actually improved over the past year. That doesn’t mean they’re perfect, but any issues we’ve encountered have been addressed to our satisfaction. With the onset of the pandemic I must say that I felt a huge wave of relief knowing that she was in a safe place instead of home alone. The staff was steadfast on all safety concerns and there were no incidents like we heard about in other places in our area. They always keep me up to date by email or a phone call if needed. Any time I’ve called there to ask questions they have always answered them and communicated well. Mom is very happy there and has made many friends despite the lockdown. They have lot’s of activities to keep their residents busy. There are all the amenities you can think of and they all are run by excellent staff. One major difference I noticed myself is the ease everyone has of getting around compared to the other places I visited. Every other one I went to had narrow halls that forced anyone with a walker or wheelchair to have to move aside when someone was passing by. Claiborne has very large open spaces especially where the residents gather and in the main hallways. This may not seem like a big deal but I saw for myself how uncomfortable it was for the residents to move around elsewhere so I was impressed with that detail. Last but not least, with mom’s care plan there was a significant cost savings compared to ALL of the other choices in our area, which was surprising considering how beautiful the place is. I thought we made a good decision then and I still feel that way today. If you’re considering assisted living or memory care for yourself or your family do yourself a favor and take the time to visit. I have always been satisfied with the high level of professionalism that you get from the front desk all the way up to the manager. They’ve helped us the entire way through the adjustment and I couldn’t imagine myself or mom being treated any better anywhere. It’s a great place, you’ll see! "

"My mother is in Kentwood. I think it is OK and satisfactory. They have nurses and CNAs. She has a single room with a TV, refrigerator, bathtub, and shower. The food is average. They have activities for the group. They have bingo, but my mother really doesn't participate in that. The staff is satisfactory. "
