"I liked that they had apartments in several small cottages instead of one big building. It is also dedicated to only the care of those with memory issues."

"We got a great and pretty immediate assistance from Navarre Gardens. The people are very helpful, and they've been taking pretty good care of my father-in-law. We haven't been able to visit recently because of COVID protocols. They had a resident that's positive, so they locked down the facility, but they seem to be doing really good in keeping them safe. The facility is brand new, and everything is real clean and pretty nice. The staff is very friendly, too. They even loaned us furniture until we're able to furnish his room. My father-in-law says the dining area is a pretty good social area for them, but since they've got into lockdown, it has been closed, and they've been letting the residents eat in their rooms. They have movie nights, a courtyard for them to walk around, and different social areas. When they're not under COVID protocol, they try and do a get-together, like dances or just different events that bring them out of their rooms and socialize with each other. He's been there since early December, and we feel that they've been pretty awesome. "

"The first thing I noticed was how nice the place was, it reminded me of a hotel, in a good way. It was clean and kept up. They treated family members and friends of the patients with respect. I appreciated not having the feeling of being "in the way" the entire time, like I have with past assisted living centers. The cooks their were on break, and we great company to talk to while waiting to see my friend, she even offered us coffee. I was able to have a long chat with my friend plus one of the nurses. She was very nice and attributed to the conversation. I am young, and my friend is far older than me, but she is not senile. She is smarter than many of the youth I'm friends with, and a much better friend as well. I appreciate knowing she will be treated with dignity at this center and I look forward to visiting her again in the future. "

"We toured here for my mom, and their facility was very nice and small, which was something to our liking. We decided to go with another community because it's closer to my house. The tour was good, and they were ready for us. They were very pleasant, and they explained the different rooms, the different sizes, and the different amount of care. They described that they had exercises, but unfortunately, the day that we were there touring, the person who led the exercise got caught in traffic, so she wasn't there. We talked about their menu and what they offered for meals. They said that their staff would come around and get medication for people. They're good-sized rooms with their own private baths. The building has been used for a while, so they've obviously had a lot of residents living there. They had a beautiful courtyard where you could sit. I think the surprising thing for me was that I didn't know where it was at first, because they're set back from the road over by the hospital in Fort Walton and you don't see it, which can be very good because it's very private back there. It's just when you're first going there, you have to pay attention to the directions they give you. It's not hard -- it's only a block off the main street -- but I didn't know it was even there. They did say that they were working on clearing their line of sight from the street to the building so that people could see their facility more easily."

"Meridian at Westwood is great. Everyone's really friendly. You're made to feel at home. It's just a really nice atmosphere. They have bingo and we had a dance for New Year's Eve. They have a bus that takes you on certain days to the grocery store, or other things that you need to go to. They have cars available, and I think they go to Walmart on certain days. They help you out that way or any other needs. The rooms are spacious and really nice. The maintenance is great. They're just right on it, even the TV, the little things, the sink, and whatever. Those were the few things that happened to me, and I think the maintenance is really great here. With the food, some days are better than others, but that's going to happen no matter where you are. I guess, it's according to the cook that day, but basically it's pretty good. The staff is friendly. They want to make sure that everything is right with the person, if can they help. They're very nice here. They try real hard. I haven't even looked at another place to start with. I'm going by just strictly this place. I've never even looked into someplace else. They have a lot of activities. They try to keep you busy. I know that they have bingo at certain times. They have puzzles you can put together, and they play dominoes and different card games. They have a lot of things in the Magnolia Room, and that's where we had our dance on New Year's Eve."

"My brother was in Bay Breeze Nursing home for a brain tumor several years ago. Since then I have had friends who were there after hospital stays. I can truly say that this nursing home is wonderful. The staff is caring and friendly, the facility is clean and the food is good. They go the extra mile for each resident to make their stay there as pleasant as they can. The permanent residents seem to feel truly at home because of the kind way they are treated as individuals and not just as patients. I highly recommend Bay Breeze Nursing Home and Retirement Center. "

"the staff is kind, patient and well trained. The administrator is very soft spoken, and keeps a calm , friendly atmosphere here. The top nurse knows her nursing stuff better than any I have met I love the cooks and the housekeepers, they are so willing to do extra if asked. "

"My family member lived at the Beehive of Gulf Breeze nearly a year. It was a wonderful facility compared to others in the area. The staff were helpful and always considerate of my parent and her needs. I never imagined that a small facility with a family type setting would be successful with my parent but it was PERFECT!!! She loved having a family style meal so she wasn’t alone at meal times. She ate more than when she was alone. I know my mother lived longer and those extra days were because of the happiness she had with her family at the Beehive. She was safe and happy....which was worth every penny!"

"My dear Dad is currently residing at Wesley Haven. He enjoys the company of many clients his age. As his daughter, I visit Dad at least 4 times a week at all hours of the day/night. I am always pleased with his care. He is very happy there. The food is varied, well cooked, nutritious, and they are more than happy to make adjustments to each and everyone's desires or needs. I have found the staff caring for Dad but ever mindful of our families desires and needs. I cannot imagine a more suitable place for a 94 year old man. Wesley Haven is my choice above ALL others. The Administration listens to the family, and goes out of their way to meet our needs. "

"My sister has only been at Northpointe for about a week now and the facility seemed to be okay. Personally, I think they could have a little more staff, but most of them are helpful. The rooms are really nice and they keep it clean. I was able to eat there and I think their food could be a little bit better. "

"My mother is at The Blake at Pensacola, and it's been good. The staff is good, and the atmosphere is great. The rooms are very nice and have high ceilings, which gives them a little more room. The dining area is nice. The whole facility is very nice, very warm, and very welcoming. What sold me on it is when the level of care goes up, the price doesn't go up."

"The staff at this facility are amazing!! My first impression was that of a hotel, not a rehab facility. The rehab staff were awesome. They worked tirelessly to help him recover. They included me in their goals and gave me many opportunities to practice with my husband safe techniques for transferring from wheelchair to bed, chair, and car. The speech therapist explained procedures (Vital Stim) and interacted extremely well with both of us. The nursing staff listened and acted when there was a concern. The executive director took notes when I would meet with her and would contact me with answers. I felt that I was a part of the recovering team. I was treated with care and respect at all times. The discharge team also were helpful with arranging medical equipment for home. The resident rooms were clean and amble. There were a variety of activities with large print calendars posted throughout the building. (Bingo, movies, ice cream socials) Residents who could participate were taken on outings to restaurants as well as shopping venues. Transportation was provided for my husband when he needed to be seen by outside doctors. Most of the encounters with staff were positive and pleasant. "
