"We got a great and pretty immediate assistance from Navarre Gardens. The people are very helpful, and they've been taking pretty good care of my father-in-law. We haven't been able to visit recently because of COVID protocols. They had a resident that's positive, so they locked down the facility, but they seem to be doing really good in keeping them safe. The facility is brand new, and everything is real clean and pretty nice. The staff is very friendly, too. They even loaned us furniture until we're able to furnish his room. My father-in-law says the dining area is a pretty good social area for them, but since they've got into lockdown, it has been closed, and they've been letting the residents eat in their rooms. They have movie nights, a courtyard for them to walk around, and different social areas. When they're not under COVID protocol, they try and do a get-together, like dances or just different events that bring them out of their rooms and socialize with each other. He's been there since early December, and we feel that they've been pretty awesome. "

"I lived at Bob Hope Village for a while, but I was not really happy with it. Every time you turn around, things were getting more expensive. You have to pay for everything. It was an old apartment, and you can hear the noise of the neighbors. It was horrible. The food was very good -- just a little expensive. The security was great because they had police officers that walk around all the time. You cannot have pets. They had a lot of recreational things to do. The staff was nice. I never heard anybody yell at anybody else, and they take care of the residents’ needs as soon as they can. They had little computers where you can schedule your work thing. You cannot get anything done unless you have a work order which was understandable. Everything had to be known. They have an exercise room and a pool. They also had classes for swimming. I just did not like it because the walls were thin, but the size of the apartment was great. I had plenty of room for everything. Everything was pretty good, but there could have been a lot of improvements. "

"Twin Cities Pavilion was very nice. The person who gave the tour was very nice and very helpful. The rooms depend on size, if my mother-in-law has to have a roommate, it was pretty decent and was pretty big. If she has to live by herself, the room was pretty small. The cleanliness was very good so far from what I could tell, the maintenance was up to date. The dining area was just a typical dining area. Nothing was going on when I went, but they have some activities. I like that it is privatized and it's a smaller community. The only thing I don't like about it is it's right in the middle of town."

"Since I was fifteen years old, I have had the opportunity to visit, volunteer, and minister in many varied senior living facilities. Whether they were nursing homes, retirement facilities, or assisted living homes, I have seen a wide variation of health care provided. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit my wife's grandmother at the Hawthorne House. As I drove onto the campus, I was immediately struck by the quietness, tranquility, and beauty of the place. After entering into Azalea, I was in awe with the creativity, care, and quality of the place. The dream that put this place together to make its residents feel as much a part of the rest world was incredible. From the little store used to allow those residents to maintain their independence, to the dining facilities that resembled a nice restaurant, these gave the residents the dignity and respect of living their later years in as much possible peace and comfort as possible. I could not help but notice the other activities that were offered the residents as well. Every day there was always something that a resident could be involved. I think what most impressed me above all else was the individual care of the staff to assist those residents in need. For my grandmother-in-law, I know that she is receiving the best possible care available. For those individuals who are making decisions as to where they may place their loved ones, I recommend this place above any other. I have seen quite a few assisted living, retirement, or nursing home facilities, and this by far tops them all. "

"It was a beautiful establishment. Ms. Harris was the director, and she was the one who personally did the tour. It was a wonderful establishment. It's new. The grounds are beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The biggest factor that my friend needs is the amount of outside activities, and there needs to be a little bit more activities to engage them. They are more of an apartment setting (it's one level)."

"Eden at Crestview is beautiful and very clean. The people were friendly. They showed me everything and answered all my questions. I called back this morning, and they knew me. They called me by name when I got there. It's top-notch so far. The rooms were beautiful and clean. They even have a microwave in them, I was surprised."

"Crescent Park Village is outstanding. My mother has been there for a number of years, and she has been treated with dignity; extremely good care. The food, and overall service is good. They really look after their residents individually. It is a nice, and very pleasant facility. It has a family setting. You feel like a family there. "

"Carington Manor is more geared towards people that have dementia. My mother didn't really fit in there because she doesn't have a dementia diagnosis, but it was my favorite of all the places that we toured. I really liked how they had their rooms set up. They were decorated differently. They had a butterfly room, a palm tree room, and a carousel room. It makes the residents feel it was more of a home rather than a nursing facility. They had a library area and a salon. The facility seemed pretty nice."

"We've visited the place and actually we are looking forward to choosing this facility. We love the place. It has a very homey-like environment, very clean and well kept. During the tour, the people were nice, friendly, and happy. "

"The Blake at Miramar Beach has a tremendous amount of activities I dearly love because I can go any time I can. We go out to restaurants, to the theaters, and shopping like Holly Lobby. Also, we've had all kinds of activities where they come in and we do molding clay. So, it's constant and I enjoy all the activities and I emphasize that because if I went to a place with no activities, I'd be very depressed, unhappy, and I probably wouldn't stay. The staff has been wonderful. I cannot complain. There's no one ever that I would say I do not like. I am served food three times a day if I go to the lunchroom. Sometimes their food is good. Sometimes it's not to my liking. It's OK. I usually eat once and then in my room, I eat the other. I do my own food preparations. The facilities are fine. I've got a bathroom with a complete shower. I don't have a kitchen area, which I dearly missed, but I have a microwave to warm up food and I have my own coffee. If I want their food, I go down to the lunchroom, but I only go depending on if they have the kind of food I prefer. There's a stove downstairs that I can go to and use and that's another activity. Once a week, they prepare a cooking session. This week, we're going to be preparing pecan pie. So you could go down, participate in that, and eat leftovers. So, I enjoyed that. Because across the street, we are on the bay, I am paying a lot more than I would pay elsewhere. Do I use the beach? No, but I have no control over that. This is an expensive area."

"We are very happy with Somerby. We toured a lot of facilities before choosing Somerby. When we visited it we knew it was the place for dad. The building and grounds are super nice and its very well maintained. We love the Sales Manager, Robyn H. Robyn is also an RN and she is very caring and respectful towards the residents. The workers are caring, the facility is clean and very well managed. I saw on the Caring review that it was $$$ but we don't find it more expensive than several of the other ones that were run down. I visit weekly and I like what I see. "

"Sodalis Defuniak Springs is a wonderful place. The people were very nice. All the things that they offered were very nice. The apartments were very good. They're unfurnished, so you have to furnish them yourself. They supply a small refrigerator and a microwave, and they do the internet too. They serve meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a courtyard as their outdoor space too."

"My family member lived at the Beehive of Gulf Breeze nearly a year. It was a wonderful facility compared to others in the area. The staff were helpful and always considerate of my parent and her needs. I never imagined that a small facility with a family type setting would be successful with my parent but it was PERFECT!!! She loved having a family style meal so she wasn’t alone at meal times. She ate more than when she was alone. I know my mother lived longer and those extra days were because of the happiness she had with her family at the Beehive. She was safe and happy....which was worth every penny!"
