"Somerby of Santa Rosa Beach was fairly new, had a nice outdoor area, but the apartments didn't have any porches or balconies. They have a memory care facility as well. It was nice, clean, very bright, cheery, had a nice outdoor area in the back like a little lake with a fountain in it and umbrellas and chairs which were nice to sit at. It was just a nice facility. They showed me one of the little apartments, which were nice, but I don't think my parents can live there because they were too small. It had a kitchenette. They do a lot of activities. A lady from my church just recently moved there and I saw her and she was very pleased with living there. The staff was very nice."

"My wife and I visited The Blake at Miramar Beach. We toured the assisted living and even went through the memory care facility. The place is new, clean, and modern. It's good that the lifestyle seemed to be upscale. We found others that were even more upscale but the Blake was one of the first ones we went to. The staff was professional, well-informed, and likable. They have dining, a spa, and swimming pools but one of the key things for us is the unit itself and then the upscale dining, not cafeteria stuff."

"This place is wonderful! It isn't one of the newer fancier assistant living facilities but the staff make up for that. It meets all of my mom's needs and I feel very confident she is in great hands. "

"I was impressed with Sodalis Defuniak Springs. It's a very clean and very up-to-date facility. There was no smell and the rooms seemed to be nice and adequate. I was impressed with the couple of people that we met and talked with (the one that does the tour and the director). They were very knowledgeable, very helpful, and certainly very cordial. We liked them a lot. They were having bingo when we were there. They also have a courtyard in the center where they encourage the residents to plant some flowers if they want to or do something else like feed the birds. They have a room where there's a big table set up and you can put a puzzle out with the other residents, a library, a preacher that comes in, and other activities outside the community."

"Our Mom was a resident for Howthorn House for a few years until the time of her death this past Spring. What a wonderful "home" it was for her. She had a lovely " suite" with everything she needed to be very comfortable and the layout of the floor she lived on was very convenient for activities, meals and visiting. A pretty garden and walking area outside of the dining area was a perfect gathering area on pretty days! The staff was friendly, efficient and caring. Though our Mom was in her 90s they made a sincere effort to be sure she was included in activities there at Hawthorn House and away trips, which meant a lot to us. Church services were important to Mom and we so appreciated the extra effort if took to be sure she could attend services at The beautiful Delores Hope Chapel in the VIlliage. Our experience at Hawthorn House was wonderful. Can't imagine a better place for our Mom to have spent those last years! "

"Airforce Enlisted Village or Bob Hope Village is excellent for retired enlisted military, and it's also just an excellent community. Plus it's close to where my family lives so it's an ideal location for me personally. It's independent living and goes all the way to assisted and memory care. The staff that accommodated us was outstanding, very helpful and personable. The room that we saw there was very good, spacious, up-to-date and safe. We also discussed about the amenities for the residents. As far as being accessible to the base and things for retired people, it's excellent. It's right within 2 miles from the base."

"I toured. It was a decent community. I wasn't crazy about the layout of the studios because there was too many bedrooms and not enough living space, but the facility itself was very nice. The staff members were very nice and very helpful. They had the usual amenities. They had like a salon. When you walk in, it's very bright. It doesn't feel like a dungeon or anything, which is nice. I don't want my loved one to be somewhere dark and depressing. So I liked the fact that it was bright. Everything was nice except the layout of the studio. The staff who gave the tour was fine. She was nice, so the only improvement that I see would be the layout of the studios."

"Sandy Tingle and her staff at Carrington provided a safe place for both of my wife’s parents during their end of life transition periods. Sandy and her staff are loving and caring people and nurtured and cared for both of my wife’s parents as closely as if they were their own parents. What a blessing they are to our community. We are forever grateful."

"Crescent Park Village is outstanding. My mother has been there for a number of years, and she has been treated with dignity; extremely good care. The food, and overall service is good. They really look after their residents individually. It is a nice, and very pleasant facility. It has a family setting. You feel like a family there. "

"Eden at Crestview is beautiful and very clean. The people were friendly. They showed me everything and answered all my questions. I called back this morning, and they knew me. They called me by name when I got there. It's top-notch so far. The rooms were beautiful and clean. They even have a microwave in them, I was surprised."

"The people at Crestview Manor are wonderful, and I'm pretty impressed with everyone I have met. I see them doing their job throughout the day, because I'm there quite often. It's not as pretty as the other places, but they all seem to care, and they keep you informed. Other than that, I have no complaints. My mother has been there for seven weeks now. The lady that runs the place is right there on the spot, and they don't even have to call her. She'll come right at you, and she'll take her time and talk to you, no matter how long it will take to make you understand and hear your problem. They have very nice attendants, even the ones that do the laundry and make the room clean, and the ones that take her to dinners or lunches and medications. It just seems overall good so far. "
