"We booked Brookdale. It was near my home and the staff was friendly. We just came in from dining and the food was very good. "

"The people at The Beacon at Gulf Breeze were very, very nice and very helpful. The facility was very clean. We are excited to move my father-in-law there. They have a putt-putt course, chess, and a bunch of stuff. They gave us food to try, and it was very good. They had an exercise room, a card table, a movie theater, and a little gym. The 1-bedroom apartment was spacious and clean."

"It is brand new, so everything is immaculate, and it looks nice. I can't remember the name of the person who showed me around and talked to me, but she was very friendly and very nice. I liked her. They have several little dining areas, and they were all nice. It was well lit. It was nice. They also have a separate dining area that you could reserve for family things for up to 20 people, which is very nice, too. They have an exercise area and a movie theater where they show movies. It felt more homey than an institution. It's brand new and it's very nice. Not only were they the nicest looking and newest, but they were also very expensive."

"Airforce Enlisted Village or Bob Hope Village is excellent for retired enlisted military, and it's also just an excellent community. Plus it's close to where my family lives so it's an ideal location for me personally. It's independent living and goes all the way to assisted and memory care. The staff that accommodated us was outstanding, very helpful and personable. The room that we saw there was very good, spacious, up-to-date and safe. We also discussed about the amenities for the residents. As far as being accessible to the base and things for retired people, it's excellent. It's right within 2 miles from the base."

"My mother is on the waiting list for Hawthorn House. The facility was by far the best we visited in this area. They have 1-bedroom units, and there were a lot of military facilities on the grounds. Their memory care wing apartments are structured the same way as the assisted living, and that's a big plus. Linda was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They were playing bingo when we visited, and in one wing they were bopping a balloon around. The food looked good and they have the option to eat in a dining facility. Each floor has a dining facility, and you can just walk out your door and down the hall to eat, so that's convenient."

"This place is wonderful! It isn't one of the newer fancier assistant living facilities but the staff make up for that. It meets all of my mom's needs and I feel very confident she is in great hands. "

"My wife has moved into The Blake at Miramar Beach. It's just excellent. Upkeep and cleanliness are excellent, too. I like the caregivers. They are competent and loving. They have excellent food and excellent activities for the participants. They have an activities director, and they're always doing something to keep the people active, like doing exercises, riding around in wheelchairs, sitting outside in the sun, in the courtyard, and things like that. I chose The Blake at Miramar Beach, based on recommendations from hospice nurses and physical therapists. I've tried their food and it's like eating in a restaurant. Value for money is excellent. It's new, clean, and well maintained."

"Somerby of Santa Rosa Beach was fairly new, had a nice outdoor area, but the apartments didn't have any porches or balconies. They have a memory care facility as well. It was nice, clean, very bright, cheery, had a nice outdoor area in the back like a little lake with a fountain in it and umbrellas and chairs which were nice to sit at. It was just a nice facility. They showed me one of the little apartments, which were nice, but I don't think my parents can live there because they were too small. It had a kitchenette. They do a lot of activities. A lady from my church just recently moved there and I saw her and she was very pleased with living there. The staff was very nice."

"Eden at Crestview is beautiful and very clean. The people were friendly. They showed me everything and answered all my questions. I called back this morning, and they knew me. They called me by name when I got there. It's top-notch so far. The rooms were beautiful and clean. They even have a microwave in them, I was surprised."

"Crescent Park Village is outstanding. My mother has been there for a number of years, and she has been treated with dignity; extremely good care. The food, and overall service is good. They really look after their residents individually. It is a nice, and very pleasant facility. It has a family setting. You feel like a family there. "

"Crestview Manor isn't operated like a regular assisted living.It's more family-oriented, which is lovely. The person that's taking care of her calls me sister and she's been doing an awful lot for the family. I was instrumental in getting my mother into Crestview Manor and because of her special needs, she has a desire to be extremely sociable, and Crestview Manor has been wonderful. The lady that owns it is wonderful, very hard working. They're wonderful with my mother and they treat her like she's a little baby doll, doing her hair, her nails, which is wonderful. The only thing that I have to say that I don't agree with them a little bit is they play a little too much. I think there's a lot of playing around with the patients and sometimes they're a little childish. The nurses are wonderful, I don't know how they do it, but they go beyond nursing, they do gardening and driving through the driveways, which is quite amazing. But it would be nice if the nursing staff would dress appropriately. "

"Sandy Tingle and her staff at Carrington provided a safe place for both of my wife’s parents during their end of life transition periods. Sandy and her staff are loving and caring people and nurtured and cared for both of my wife’s parents as closely as if they were their own parents. What a blessing they are to our community. We are forever grateful."

"BeeHive Homes of Gulf Breeze was very nice. It's just that the rooms were smaller. They didn't have the microwaves or the refrigerators in them. It was a much smaller community by design. Also, it was considerably more expensive. Other than that, the memory care had a nice separate sitting area that looked like a living room, where you could watch TV, do puzzles, or read. They had a nice deck out there that overlooked a little pond, which was really pretty, as well as a little separate activities room. It was very clean, and the staff was just wonderful."
