Assisted Living Communities in Santa Rosa Beach, FL

"Somerby is a brand new place, it is beautiful, there is a lake in the back, and the views are nice. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating, and they answered any questions that we had. Mom is going to have her own apartment where she can bring her own things. There is lots of storage space and closets, and everything was in place. It just was beautiful. We got in early enough that she was able to pick out her apartment before they opened. "

"My wife and I visited The Blake at Miramar Beach. We toured the assisted living and even went through the memory care facility. The place is new, clean, and modern. It's good that the lifestyle seemed to be upscale. We found others that were even more upscale but the Blake was one of the first ones we went to. The staff was professional, well-informed, and likable. They have dining, a spa, and swimming pools but one of the key things for us is the unit itself and then the upscale dining, not cafeteria stuff."

"Twin Cities Pavilion was very nice. The person who gave the tour was very nice and very helpful. The rooms depend on size, if my mother-in-law has to have a roommate, it was pretty decent and was pretty big. If she has to live by herself, the room was pretty small. The cleanliness was very good so far from what I could tell, the maintenance was up to date. The dining area was just a typical dining area. Nothing was going on when I went, but they have some activities. I like that it is privatized and it's a smaller community. The only thing I don't like about it is it's right in the middle of town."

"At Hawthorne House, they seemed very professional and neat. I liked the separate wings and I think you'd get a little more attention because the impression I got was employees were assigned to a wing so they had less people to take care of. I liked that they had dining rooms in each wing and they also had a central one. They also had different little cafes so if people didn't want what was being served regularly, they could go there. They rooms had a sitting room and bedrooms. "

"I toured. It was a decent community. I wasn't crazy about the layout of the studios because there was too many bedrooms and not enough living space, but the facility itself was very nice. The staff members were very nice and very helpful. They had the usual amenities. They had like a salon. When you walk in, it's very bright. It doesn't feel like a dungeon or anything, which is nice. I don't want my loved one to be somewhere dark and depressing. So I liked the fact that it was bright. Everything was nice except the layout of the studio. The staff who gave the tour was fine. She was nice, so the only improvement that I see would be the layout of the studios."

"I lived at Bob Hope Village for a while, but I was not really happy with it. Every time you turn around, things were getting more expensive. You have to pay for everything. It was an old apartment, and you can hear the noise of the neighbors. It was horrible. The food was very good -- just a little expensive. The security was great because they had police officers that walk around all the time. You cannot have pets. They had a lot of recreational things to do. The staff was nice. I never heard anybody yell at anybody else, and they take care of the residents’ needs as soon as they can. They had little computers where you can schedule your work thing. You cannot get anything done unless you have a work order which was understandable. Everything had to be known. They have an exercise room and a pool. They also had classes for swimming. I just did not like it because the walls were thin, but the size of the apartment was great. I had plenty of room for everything. Everything was pretty good, but there could have been a lot of improvements. "

"The thing I like about Sodalis Defuniak Springs is the administration part of the people. They're really friendly, nice, and pleasant to talk to. And they include everybody in the conversation. It's not just me in the conversation, they included my husband also. The tour was really good. They showed us a studio and what their facilities were. We went all the way around the building, and I love the layout because my husband can't get lost, because it's like a rectangle. If you keep walking you're going to get back to your room, or get back to somebody who's going to help you get to your room, so that was good. I also like that they let you decorate your doors and things like that, that way we could decorate my husband's door so that he will know his room and it won't be like everybody else's, so those kinds of things are nice. I just wish they had memory care, and that would be the only thing that I would say that I didn't like about it. It's not a big facility. But the people that are using the assisted living are really friendly. They're nice, and they looked like they enjoyed each other. And if you didn't want to go down to the dining hall, you could eat in your room, and that was OK."

"Carington Manor is more geared towards people that have dementia. My mother didn't really fit in there because she doesn't have a dementia diagnosis, but it was my favorite of all the places that we toured. I really liked how they had their rooms set up. They were decorated differently. They had a butterfly room, a palm tree room, and a carousel room. It makes the residents feel it was more of a home rather than a nursing facility. They had a library area and a salon. The facility seemed pretty nice."

"Eden at Crestview is beautiful and very clean. The people were friendly. They showed me everything and answered all my questions. I called back this morning, and they knew me. They called me by name when I got there. It's top-notch so far. The rooms were beautiful and clean. They even have a microwave in them, I was surprised."

"I went to The Blake at Panama City Beach. I like everything about that place. That is the one that I would go to if and when I am able to. The staff is very, very helpful and very friendly. You could just tell they are willing to help in any situation. I saw the food there as they were bringing it and it looked excellent. They have transportation and a day for doctor appointments. There's lots of freedom. You could have your puppy. It was very organized and very helpful."

"Crescent Park Village is outstanding. My mother has been there for a number of years, and she has been treated with dignity; extremely good care. The food, and overall service is good. They really look after their residents individually. It is a nice, and very pleasant facility. It has a family setting. You feel like a family there. "
