Message from our CEO

“I lost my dad to Alzheimer’s, so this is personal for me. I was that adult child (along with my mom and sisters) who was unsure how to understand the options that were available for my dad’s senior living and then how to decide between those options.  I knew there was a better way, but I didn’t know what it was – unfortunately, I did not find Caring.

When I first learned about Caring, I was interested in joining the company to help families like mine learn about and navigate their senior care options. These options include senior living communities and home care agencies staffed with teams that dedicate their careers to making sure seniors are safe, healthy, well-fed, happy, and have opportunities to socialize on a daily basis.

Today, our mission is to help as many seniors and caregivers as possible through empathetic, expert guidance, and we take that very seriously. We continue to look for more ways, including the best resources and tools to help more seniors. Our goal is to make the search for senior living and care as seamless as possible.

We hope you and your loved ones find the best fit for your needs, and that we can play a helpful role in that process.”

Learn more about senior living and senior care

There are multiple types of care and communities available, so it's
important to know which is the best fit for your needs.

Assisted living

At costs ranging from $1,200 to $8,000 per month, assisted living communities are a great choice for someone who needs help with activities of daily living, such as eating, grooming and bathing. Many also offer respite care (short-term stays).

Memory care

Memory care communities are specially designed living environments for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias. You can expect that staff members have extra training to help people with memory loss. Costs are $3,000 per month and up. Some also provide respite care.

In-home care

For help with driving, getting around the house, meal preparation, companionship, and light housekeeping, hire a professional caregiver through an in-home care agency. Caregivers can be hired on a one-time basis or a regular monthly schedule. Rates usually range from $20 to $40 per hour.

Independent living

Independent living communities are great for residents who want to enjoy the perks of community living, but who don't need regular assistance with activities of daily living. Costs range from $1,000 to $4,000 per month.

Nursing homes

Also called skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), nursing homes are staffed by skilled medical professionals who can provide 24-hour support. Some also offer short-term stays for someone who is transferring from the hospital but not yet ready to go home.

Hospice

Hospice care helps provide comfort to your loved one in their last days. Care teams specialize in keeping pain and suffering to a minimum. This care is often provided at home, but care teams can also go to a hospital or other care facility to provide relief.

I’m so thankful there is a service available that helped me navigate the daunting task of learning how to choose a facility for my mother. There is so much to take into consideration that I never thought of.
