"My wife's aunt is at Juniper Village at Lebanon. The staff members seem to be pretty pleasant and helpful. They do seem to have a fair amount of turnover. It's a nice facility. Everything is on one level. The rooms down to the dining room are all easy to get to. Her comment about the food is that it's kind of bland. It's institutional food. They have games and bingo. They have activities in the community room that people can choose to attend. They have Bible study. The grounds are pretty well maintained. It's a bigger campus. The facility always seems to be clean. I don't ever smell bad smells when I walk in. My wife's aunt is well tended for."

"The Palmerton was a beautiful place. It's just expensive, but I was very impressed with the director. He took his time to show us everything. We were there for about an hour and a half to two hours, and we got to talk to some of the residents. He went over everything as far as assisted living, memory care, and everything. The place was also clean. They had elevators and the staff was just amazing. My sister, my daughter and I went to look at it and we were all very impressed. We were there at lunchtime and everyone had their meals, depending on their needs. It was just wonderful."

"Heather Glen is a beautiful, nicely appointed facility-- but even more significant is the professionalism, enthusiasm, and warmth of everyone working there including the administrator, the marketing director, the nurse, the activities coordinator, the med techs, and the caretakers. I appreciate the individual care and attention they give to my sister. It's impressive the effort all made to learn my sister's needs and interests. We are so happy that Heather Glen is now open. My family and I strongly recommend it!"

"The Heritage of Green Hills was my favorite. They had a pool, and I thought that was wonderful. The only thing though, was you had to pay an upfront fee of a lot of money, several thousand dollars. They had outdoor areas that were very nice. They have arts and crafts, and swimming, and exercises, and dancing. The facility was wonderful."

"Atrium of Allentown was very up-to-date and extremely stylish. It was so nice. We're like, "Wow, I would live here." The rooms were spacious. The bathrooms were like out of a hotel. They were beautiful. Price-wise, they might have been less than the others. They were right in there in the price range that we were trying to spend, which was right around $6000 a month. We did not eat their food, but we saw their food and we saw their dining room, which was set up nice, and there were stations that they could go to where they have snacks and drinks put out and stuff like that. We wanted that place so bad that they went and did a second assessment on my dad, which I thought was super nice. They said, "Let's go back again and just check again." Unfortunately, they just couldn't take care of him. They have a big room where they do activities, and it was nice. There's a big TV up there. They had courtyards they could go into. They had a common area with a TV and seating. They had a room upstairs and it almost reminded me of a banquet room. They had an elevator, and they play games and they have movie night up there. They had a lot of activities for the people. Everything was brand new and you could just tell because all the rooms had that gray flooring. You could just tell everything's very modern. Even the lady who was helping me joked, "If you're looking for glitz and glamor, Atrium is the place.""

"My mother-in-law has been in Linden Village MCHS for two weeks now. It is all ground level. The staff is very friendly so far. The nurse calls just for an update on how she's doing and everything. The only downside is when she has to go to the doctor if she doesn't take the doctor in the facility, then it's up to the family to take her to appointments. That's the only thing I don't care about. The staff are very friendly and eager to help. They have activities. They mostly have puzzles and bingo. I also know they have exercise classes that they can go to. They have a beauty shop and a community center for when they have different events. They can walk them and there's like a path. It's very nice."

"My grandfather has been a resident at faithful living for the past 2 months . Our entire family is happy with how smooth the staff made the transition for him . He is having a lot of fun with other residents . They recently went on a trip to a baseball game and he told me how he had a good time . Whenever I visit my grandpa , I am always satisfied with how clean the facility is . The staff is also very attentive . The rooms are very clean and spacious . "

"The Renaissance Home Pinebrook is a small living facility, small enough that they can give individual attention to each resident. They seem to care for their individual needs. My mom is in their assisted living and I think the staff there shows a lot of compassion and attention to detail. She sometimes enjoys the meals but it's also not necessarily always what she wants. I believe she has said that there is good quality, it's just not necessarily what she would have preferred. They do some bingo and they have a television in the common area for movies. I haven't exactly looked into what they have daily, but I've heard from my mother that they've played bingo. They seem to do a good job in keeping her floors clean and her bed made. They have a nice outdoor seating area, and they have a nice common area for lounging. With the pandemic, they have the families visiting in each resident's room. That's fine with us and it makes sense. They also allow people to take off their masks once they get to the residents' room. Otherwise, they would prefer to have the masks on while going through the facility. They have transportation. So far, I haven't seen anything about the programs, but she's also only been living there for a month or so. Hopefully, with no pandemic, there'll be more programs."

"After visiting various assisted living facilities we eventually decided on this one as our long term care facility for my grandfather. I was personally impressed with the staff who were very caring and compassionate. They helped in any way possible and went out of the way to answer questions and give a lovely tour of the place. The rooms weren't anything spectacular but it had all the basics that could be needed. However I feel that they could have been made a bit more accessible as parts were quite a tight fit.As for the amenities in the facility... well this was quite possibly a selling point. On site the Schuylkill Centers had a barber shop, a religious service center, a lounge and activity room, a lovely cafeteria plus a small shop for the patients to use. It was very welcoming not only to those that stay there and also for the family. In addition to the beautiful inside, the outside landscape was very inviting with flowers, trees and a nice park area if the people just need to get a breath a fresh air.Overall I was very impressed with this assisted living facility and ultimately for the above reasons is why we choose this as the care facility for our grandfather. "

"My mother-in-law has moved into Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill. Overall, the look of the building is very nice. It is a very clean area. For the most part, everything is good. I have some issues with the nursing department and stuff like that. Other than that, the building is nice. The outside is nice with nice scenery, and the rooms are decent. They have quite a bit of activities going on. They do like entertainment in the afternoon. They do some games, and they do some movies. They have different people that come in and play music. I don't see a lot of it right now. They don't want us in the building due to COVID right now again. I haven't been there for any of the entertainment. I just hear or see it on a calendar."

"My ex-husband is in Providence Place in Pottsville right now. I was able to get him in there right away and I know a lot of people up there that recommended it. They were very helpful and cordial in taking care of him and meeting his needs. He has a room, it's very well kept. What I like is all the activities that they offer and the food service is outstanding. He gets a list every week of all the activities that go on and there's quite a few of them plus they take the people out in the community. "

"Have had several years of experience with this nursing home. My father has been a resident for 1 year and my mother, for 2 1/2 years before him. She passed there from the effects of a stroke. My 95 year old father suffers from dementia/Alzheimers. He is continent, and only needs help w/ADL's..uses a walker, d/t loss of balance. Except for yearning to go home, he is satisfied w/the care they provide for him. I or a brother visit him every day, so we feel we have a pretty good grasp on his care. Our main complaint, except for him not being able to watch his baseball on his tv most of the time, it must be viewed in the day room, is the food. He's on a pureed diet, and a lot of times, what they give him isnt always suitable. Otherwise, the care from the nursing staff, except for a few glitches now and then that are immediately addressed, is stellar. Having been employed as an aide myself at another facility, I understand what to expect, which has made me realize that his care has been very good. The entire staff treats my dad and our family with the utmost courtesy and respect and any issues or concerns are immediately dealt with. The aides are very caring and patient, which I really appreciate, having done their job myself for 13 years. It is not easy! And I really appreciate each and every one of them and tell them so. "

"My mother is right now at The Birches at Shenandoah Manor. They have crafts and movie nights. The best thing about them is their workers, and the people there are nice. She will stay there for a month total. "
