"My mother is now in Schuylkill Center. It is very nice. They are taking very good care of her. She actually gained 8 pounds since she’s been there. She likes the food and the place. It’s clean, and they’re very helpful. She loves it. The rooms and dining area are well-maintained. Their laundry is done, and their beddings are changed every day. "

"My great aunt had rehab at Mt. Carmel Senior Living Community. She was in rehab because she had fallen and broken her shoulders. She liked it, and she was engaged in activities. It was very clean. They do jigsaws, bingo, and things like that. That's what was going on when I was there. Her situation improved; she was discharged home independently. The staff were friendly and helpful. The facility was very clean, and the grounds are well-kept. I'm not sure how that all works out financially, but I would say it was fair. They got the desired outcome; she was discharged home. It was a little bit more institutional overall, but her room was homey. They do have a beauty/barber salon. We were satisfied."

"Hometown Nursing was highly recommended by our pastor and members of the church. I have been there a few times, and everybody thinks highly of it. It’s clean, it's on one floor, and they have lots of activities -- at least a once a month church service. It’s got good reports, and the rooms that I have seen were clean. "

"My Mom was here in May 2017 after a hip replacement at the age of 85 for Rehabilitation. Within a few weeks they had her walking with her cane and ready to go home and resume her active lifestyle. She loved it here! They were friendly, treated her kindly and with respect and she progressed wonderfully! We are so happy that she has returned here to do further rehab after a stroke last month. She is doing well and we hope to have a good recovery. She loves it here and says the food and nurses are wonderful. So far I can only say good things about this home. "I was able to observe Rest Haven at Schuylkill Haven for two months. I witnessed my brother needing help walking, eating, going to toilet, and doing other things. The staff gave him all the care he needed and did it professionally. They managed his meals and his personal hygiene very well. He was as comfortable as he could have been even though he was obviously terminally ill. The staff was very calm, very professional, very efficient, and very comprehensive. They give the attention to patients by doing as much as they could to keep their spirits up. It was a clean, neat, and well-ordered facility, too. This was a hospital-type of facility. The room he had was shared with two other men. The rooms had everything. They have game types of activities, which required some physical participation. They had films and guest musicians coming in to sing and dance. It was more likely a retirement community than a nursing home for those who were physically capable. This facility has its personality. It was not just a mass of people slowly dying in the corners of the building. The morale of the patients was good. They were enjoying their food. They received a lot of attention from the staff. I wouldn't mind residing in a facility like this. I would recommend it. "

"My husband is in Tremont nursing home. They're helping him, they're nice to him, and the care is good. They do whatever has to be done. The place is clean. Whenever something happened, they call me. They serve the meals, and they take him anywhere if he needs anything. They have a doctor there too. The caregivers are all nice to him. "

"The staff was not very friendly and it was difficult for my grandfather to get the care he needed. He was often neglected for a long period of time and was not fed on a regular schedule. Cleanliness of the location was also a concern. It seemed as if they did not have continuity with their staff and had issues with staff quitting all of the time. Before he passed away, the staff seemed to be getting better but still had room for improvement. Grief counseling could also be improved. "

"Sincere Thank You to Nurses, Staff, and Administration who helped to care for my Godfather / Uncle at Mountain City Nursing & Rehab Center in Hazleton, Pa. My Uncle was there for almost 2 years, and was on Hospice the last few months of his stay. My Aunt was so impressed with the Nursing Care that my Uncle got and how she, his wife, was treated. The communication and support was excellent. My Uncle was a wonderful and yet difficult man to care for - my Aunt had him at home in a hospital bed for 10 years before admission there. The Nurses and Staff treated him with kindness and dignity despite his actions and behaviors. Even through CoVid, my Aunt was there as much as she could, to visit and feed him. She observed the Nurses & Staff giving meds, moving, toileting, washing, and changing him. They were always so kind. When he passes away, the staff knew her, hugged her, and shared the pain of her loss. She has even told us that is where she wants to be when it is no longer safe for her to be at her own home. So very grateful, God Daughter / Niece who is a Nurse. "

"Sunset Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center was newer than the other place, brighter, the furnishings were nicer, and the rooms were bigger. The facility was very clean and spacious. The staff was very nice, very polite, and very courteous."
