"My mom had her physical therapy as Mt. Carmel Nursing Rehab Center. They also had the medical part to make sure that she was okay from the stroke the she had in her spine. The people there were very professional. They were very helpful and respectful. They had her on a schedule and they made sure that she had her therapy. They also took care of her diabetes and coumadin and everything else she needed medically. They provided activities for the patients. They even had her do some chopping and stuff to help make soup. The room that she was in was very clean and neat. I had nothing negative to say about them. "

"Hometown Nursing was highly recommended by our pastor and members of the church. I have been there a few times, and everybody thinks highly of it. It’s clean, it's on one floor, and they have lots of activities -- at least a once a month church service. It’s got good reports, and the rooms that I have seen were clean. "

"My aunt has severe dementia and is a resident of Seton Manor. She moved in after staying home with her husband for years. It was too difficult to take care of her anymore on their own. This facility is very nice. There is always staff around to help the residents with their needs. The staff are somewhat friendly and helpful, however my aunt cannot speak anymore, so it is difficult for them to know exactly what she needs. The food seems to be edible, as with some other assisted living places, the food is not prepared or served well. There is a nice outdoor area where she can walk around and they also have birds, which she can watch to keep her occupied. She does share a room with someone else, so I can imagine that that must be taxing to some extent when there are extraordinary situations. The residents seem happy and the staff seems like they are there to help. The actual building is very easy to get to, and they have a good amount of parking. When you arrive, you have to sign in for security purposes, which is a good thing. We were there one time when there was a church service going on, and it was great to see the residents getting involved. It's nice that they are trying to keep them active. All in all, I believe it is a good place for my aunt and I'm happy that she is in good hands. Thank you for your time. "

"I was able to observe Rest Haven at Schuylkill Haven for two months. I witnessed my brother needing help walking, eating, going to toilet, and doing other things. The staff gave him all the care he needed and did it professionally. They managed his meals and his personal hygiene very well. He was as comfortable as he could have been even though he was obviously terminally ill. The staff was very calm, very professional, very efficient, and very comprehensive. They give the attention to patients by doing as much as they could to keep their spirits up. It was a clean, neat, and well-ordered facility, too. This was a hospital-type of facility. The room he had was shared with two other men. The rooms had everything. They have game types of activities, which required some physical participation. They had films and guest musicians coming in to sing and dance. It was more likely a retirement community than a nursing home for those who were physically capable. This facility has its personality. It was not just a mass of people slowly dying in the corners of the building. The morale of the patients was good. They were enjoying their food. They received a lot of attention from the staff. I wouldn't mind residing in a facility like this. I would recommend it. "

"Saint Luke's is very clean and well maintained for a nursing home. To my experience the nurses are very professional and mostly very organized as a whole unit. My aunt fell twice at other homes and was moved from Mountain City (also in Hazleton, PA) and the former state nursing home in Weatherley, PA. She never fell again at St. Luke's and even regained talkative moments, smiles and her old usual zany sense of humor. Surprisingly the activities really do bring the whole room of residents together and that is a rarity worth mentioning. My aunt has grown very quiet with fading health, but the campy fun sometimes does liven her up for little burst of energy. Perhaps an eye roll! I don't think that would have been possible without protective watch. My mother and her family frequently make visits and any problems were always met with humble calm cooperation. Nursing homes in general are really the type of place where the environment can gain a negative reputation. Smells, sights, and the overall uncomfortable feel of a hospital are common. Anything a staff can do that changes that reputation in my mind is worth much more praise than 150 words. "

"I would highly recommend this facility for your loved ones. The rooms are what they are, but with a few photos and familiar items from home we made it cozy. The care my mother received from the staff was more than we could have hoped for. Everyone that cared for my mother was kind, respectful and went above and beyond day in and day out. The activities were fun. The residents were engaged, and my mother enjoyed being part of the activities. The grounds at the facility are beautiful, scenic, and peaceful. "

"My husband is in Tremont nursing home. They're helping him, they're nice to him, and the care is good. They do whatever has to be done. The place is clean. Whenever something happened, they call me. They serve the meals, and they take him anywhere if he needs anything. They have a doctor there too. The caregivers are all nice to him. "

"The staff was not very friendly and it was difficult for my grandfather to get the care he needed. He was often neglected for a long period of time and was not fed on a regular schedule. Cleanliness of the location was also a concern. It seemed as if they did not have continuity with their staff and had issues with staff quitting all of the time. Before he passed away, the staff seemed to be getting better but still had room for improvement. Grief counseling could also be improved. "

"I had nothing but a great experience for my dad during his stay. Not everything is perfect, but the administrative staff are more than willing to fix any problems reported to them. They have a new Administrator and Director of Nursing and they are very responsive. I had a couple of issues that came up and as soon as it was reported to the Administrator, it was fixed and never happened again. I was given is business card and told to call him personally any time of the day or night. Where do you get customer service like this anymore. Nothing is ever perfect, but as long as they are willing to fix problems and not ignore them, what more can anyone ask. "

"Sunset Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center was newer than the other place, brighter, the furnishings were nicer, and the rooms were bigger. The facility was very clean and spacious. The staff was very nice, very polite, and very courteous."

"My family member received excellent care and the staff was helpful. They took very good care of my family when I couldn't. They were on the rehab unit which is recently been updated and it was beautiful. They overed activities for all and trips, they have a beauticians on site and the therapy team was wonderful. It is a hidden gem in the mountains. Thanks"

"Have had several years of experience with this nursing home. My father has been a resident for 1 year and my mother, for 2 1/2 years before him. She passed there from the effects of a stroke. My 95 year old father suffers from dementia/Alzheimers. He is continent, and only needs help w/ADL's..uses a walker, d/t loss of balance. Except for yearning to go home, he is satisfied w/the care they provide for him. I or a brother visit him every day, so we feel we have a pretty good grasp on his care. Our main complaint, except for him not being able to watch his baseball on his tv most of the time, it must be viewed in the day room, is the food. He's on a pureed diet, and a lot of times, what they give him isnt always suitable. Otherwise, the care from the nursing staff, except for a few glitches now and then that are immediately addressed, is stellar. Having been employed as an aide myself at another facility, I understand what to expect, which has made me realize that his care has been very good. The entire staff treats my dad and our family with the utmost courtesy and respect and any issues or concerns are immediately dealt with. The aides are very caring and patient, which I really appreciate, having done their job myself for 13 years. It is not easy! And I really appreciate each and every one of them and tell them so. "

"My husband has been in Orangeville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for a month now. Just like every nursing home in the area, they need more people to work there and they're looking. Right now, I don't think they're hiring anybody extra because of COVID. Everything's kind of shut down for now, but he's adjusting. He's enjoying having a roommate. The nurses are wonderful. The staff is exceptional. The only problem is they don't have enough people working there and I'm pretty sure that's the case everywhere. The food is OK, some days are better than others. It's very clean, but they do not have central air, which completely boggles my mind. When Medicare was finished with their 20 days of providing physical therapy, they told me that from then on, it would cost me $400 a day for two hours of physical therapy and that really kind of blew my mind. The staff members are very nice, and they're working very hard. They're trying to take care of everybody as best they can with the time that they have. Yesterday, the dinner was beautiful. They have an outside area that looks very nice. They have some areas with nice big windows so that they can look out on the outdoors, which is nice. I just think they charge more than anybody else around or at least no less."
