"I toured Hidden Meadows on the Ridge. That's a beautiful place, and that woman that I met with, is a fabulous woman. It's just, everything was great up there, but it's just too costly for me. Even their menu for their dinners and all was fabulous. I come from a cooking family, so that's something I can spot right away. You see a lot when you come in. It's beautiful. I met some people and the people are very happy. That tells you a lot when you see how happy the tenants are. I liked the cleanliness and the care. They're very thorough with every area. They offer everything, doctor's care, doctors that come in that you can use. So, I wouldn't have to take my mother out for appointments. I believe they take your mother or father out to a dentist. They have a contract with the dentist. They will do everything, anything you need. It's just that if you need extra care for your mother, it costs money. There's my demise because we don't have a lot of money."

"My mother moved to The Solana Doylestown and we're pretty happy with it. It's not hospital-like, it's more apartment living but with memory care. Her room has two separate areas, the living room, and the bedroom, then there's a little kitchen area and a separate bathroom. It's small but it's got different areas like an apartment. I feel like they can still up their game with their food selection for memory care. They've got activities like exercise classes, arts and crafts, and a happy hour."

"I toured Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting. It's outstanding. I wanted to move there. They were fantastic. The rooms were a little on the smaller side, but the building was brand new. The person who gave the tour was fantastic, and the food looked good."

"My tour at Sunrise of Dresher was useful. It was nice and clean. The staff was wonderful and they gave me a good tour. I think it was cost-effective so I'm on the right track. I wasn't able to try the food but the menu looks good, and I could see that they have good menu options. They had bingo, puzzles, and stuff. It seems like there are a lot of things for them to do and a lot of activities. I looked at both memory care and assisted living."

"We chose Columbia Cottage Collegeville for mom because it's a small community, and the caregiver to resident ratio is favorable. They offer a variety of activities and services, and the location was also beneficial. They had 10 levels of care from independent living all the way through to skilled nursing. It is great because she can age in place, and the staff has been amazing. They have three different sized rooms. My mom is in a 312 square foot room (which doesn't sound like much), but it is perfect for a single person. There's a full bathroom with a walk-In shower and pull cords by the bed and in the bathroom for assistance. There are three different sized rooms. They're generally on a wait list, but we happen to call them at a good time. They have one available. It's really like a big home. They have a living room, a TV area, dining room, and kitchen (which is all open for the residents to use as they like). They also have a hair salon onsite, as well as a physical therapy area. They have therapists that come in several times a week and a hairdresser that's there two days a week. They also have a nurse on-staff 24 hours a day, and they're great. If there's any medical assistance needed, they're there. They have various activities like arts and crafts, games, bingo, and movie night. They also have a vehicle, so they can do scheduled transportation to doctor's appointments. There are two courtyards inside the building, so residents can go outside and enjoy them without the risk of anybody wandering off. She likes the food so far."

"One of the things that I liked the best was that it was a lovely, brand-new facility. It's only been there for two years, so everything was bright and shiny. They have huge windows and lots of light. The staff was lovely. They make you feel comfortable and special. Another thing I liked about them was that I could buy in, and then it's a pay for services. My wish is that I can stay in my house as long as possible, and then when I need assisted living, I would move into an assisted living facility in that same place. If they have apartments available, you can just move in. They showed me a terrific assisted living room. It was a one-bedroom apartment with a little kitchen. It had a refrigerator and a microwave, which is all I would need. You have three meals included in your plan. They had a separate bedroom, a lovely bathroom, and then a little sitting area that was separate from the bedroom. When my original salesperson ran out of time, her colleague was available to finish the tour. He answered any question I could think of."

"I have chosen Springfield Senior Living for my father. The rooms are good-sized and pretty spacious. My father is in memory care, so they have sections that you have to go through a door, and you need a code in order to go through that door. The Alzheimer's patients can't go beyond that door because they won't remember their code. I thought that was pretty cool. For the elevators, you need codes and stuff, too. It's a very, very clean place. The memory care had their own dining room. The staff members are very nice, very helpful, and very informative. I asked all kinds of questions, and they were very quick to answer the questions and didn't hesitate. It is a private place. I didn't see any activities, but my father said they do activities. They have a paper of what they do daily. As for the value for the money, I'm definitely getting the worth of it. They get three meals a day, the activities, and the care that he needs. It's helpful for me."

"The place is beautiful, very nice amenities. The woman at the front desk is so nice and helpful, if you ask her where do you think my loved one she pretty much knows exactly where she is. Food is excellent and friendly staff waiters. If you have a loved one looking for assisted living/ memory care this is the place your looking for."

"My family member lives here and loves it. They are willing to talk to her and food is great."

"The Province of Southampton was a very nice facility. It was immaculate. The only thing I did not like about it was that they have what they call a Jack and Jill apartment. In other words, there's a separate bedroom on each side, but they share a common bathroom. It was well-staffed. The Province of Southampton has memory care and assisted living, but I would rather have just memory care because my thoughts are, say, the memory care might be short of staff. They take people from assisted living and put them in memory care, and they're not trained. So that's another reason I'd rather have memory care. The person who took me around was very nice and well-informed. She was very good. They serve three meals a day. They have courtyards and walking lanes where they can walk outside."

"I'm moving into Crescent Fields at Huntingdon Valley. I love it, and it's the most reasonable one out of all of them. You only pay $3,000 to put a down payment, and then you pay $6,000 a month for a two-bedroom. They only had two-bedrooms left, and I got one. It's a nice size, and it's beautiful. Everything is really nice, so I'm very happy. Everything is included. They have three meals a day, they have entertainment, they have a movie theater, they have a private dining room, and they do trips. I had lunch there. I can't say it was the best, but it's OK. Nevertheless, they were very courteous and very caring to all their people. I don't really know any of the staff members other than the salespeople and the girls at the front desk, but the kitchen people were very, very sweet. They're very pleasant, very cheerful, very nice, and willing to help you. Everything was immaculate, too."

"My mom moved to Brookdale Northampton, and their staff has been there a long time. I think the woman at the desk has been there for 19 years. I think the maintenance guy has been there for like 20 years. It seems like people stay there because the workers seem to like it. It's clean. They're very friendly. It's very nice as far as their dining room. The rooms and the building are nice. You don't feel like you're walking into a nursing home. You feel like you're walking into a home, and everyone's very nice and the residents seem very nice as well. The staff is very nice, but sometimes they're not around and they have a lot to handle. My mom loves the food. She's only been there two weeks, so we haven't experienced everything yet, but they have a lot of things for them to do. I've started to go to a lot of different places and some are more expensive and maybe a little nicer, but too big. And then some are just the same price and not as nice, so I think we did well with this one."

"My friend moved into Penn Assisted Care. It was a good match for him. It wasn't a hard process at all. The staff members are very helpful. They take the time to address any situations that need to be addressed. They're very professional. My friend likes the food. They have day rooms and people interact with each other. It's a pleasant setting and very personal."
