"My husband will be moving to the Hidden Meadows on the Ridge. Their staff members are very outgoing, concerned, and conscientious. The facility was beautiful, and each room has a bed, dresser, armoire, nightstand, and an easy chair. It's a very spacious place. There are a lot of activities that my husband is interested in, like birdwatching. There's a lot of room for him to move around and meet people."

"I am currently living at The Solana Doylestown. It's been fine for me. It's an assisted living community of around 150 residents. It doesn't have skilled nursing though, and I want to be in a retirement community that offers skilled nursing should I need it. The staff is very good here. There's a fair amount of turnover, but I guess it's quite common in facilities of this type. I have no complaints about the staff, they're polite, helpful, considerate, and they do their jobs. The facility is beautiful, it's not even 5 years old, and it's modern in every respect. The atmosphere is very home-like and not institutional, which I like. They have activities for the residents, which a lot of them I don't attend. There are church services for any denomination here on Sunday, the usual bingo nights, there's a happy hour here on one of the days, exercise class, and physical therapy and occupational therapy treatments if you need them."

"Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting was beautiful, but it didn't have the 24-hour care that my mom needed. Plus, it didn't take medical assistance as part of the payment. The people were very responsive. They came out and they spoke to us. They were very engaging and very informative. They gave us useful information that we could take someplace else. The place was top-notch, and it looked like it was a very nice place to stay. Everything was spanking new. They had a movie theater, a restaurant, outside facilities where you could have a picnic set, and even accommodations if family members needed to stay overnight."

"I chose Sunrise of Dresher because it was recommended to me by the social worker at the skilled nursing where I was coming from. I like the care and the positive attitude of everyone on staff, and the upkeep of the facility. My apartment is brand new, perfect, freshly painted, bright, and sunny. They give us some fresh fruit and several choices. There's fresh salad daily and they have a nice dining room. They have well-planned activities all day long. I go to exercise class every morning, which is fun. I enjoy that."

"We chose Columbia Cottage Collegeville for mom because it's a small community, and the caregiver to resident ratio is favorable. They offer a variety of activities and services, and the location was also beneficial. They had 10 levels of care from independent living all the way through to skilled nursing. It is great because she can age in place, and the staff has been amazing. They have three different sized rooms. My mom is in a 312 square foot room (which doesn't sound like much), but it is perfect for a single person. There's a full bathroom with a walk-In shower and pull cords by the bed and in the bathroom for assistance. There are three different sized rooms. They're generally on a wait list, but we happen to call them at a good time. They have one available. It's really like a big home. They have a living room, a TV area, dining room, and kitchen (which is all open for the residents to use as they like). They also have a hair salon onsite, as well as a physical therapy area. They have therapists that come in several times a week and a hairdresser that's there two days a week. They also have a nurse on-staff 24 hours a day, and they're great. If there's any medical assistance needed, they're there. They have various activities like arts and crafts, games, bingo, and movie night. They also have a vehicle, so they can do scheduled transportation to doctor's appointments. There are two courtyards inside the building, so residents can go outside and enjoy them without the risk of anybody wandering off. She likes the food so far."

"Our experience has been nothing short of great with Springfield Senior Living. My mom is getting excellent round the clock care which really puts my mind at ease. The staff is so caring towards my mother. She loves the activities that are scheduled everyday, once a week lunch trips, as well as the music therapist. My mom seems much happier and at ease since she has been in the care of Springfield and I am very grateful. "

"I went to McCallum Assisted Life. I saw a room with a shared bathroom. The staff told me the price point. They have a doctor every month that comes out to the location. They do things for them, they have activities, and they do the medication. I like the location. The staff was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and informative. It's an older facility, but it was nice and clean. They had a patio. They did show me the board where they have activities."

"My mom is in here since September and it's been great! For my mom's level, it is a perfect place for her. It is not overwhelming not like those huge complexes. The staff is very caring and nice. They know everybody by name and they are very attentive. Her apartment is very nice. She has a living area, a bedroom, a nice size bathroom and she's very comfortable there. It is really cozy and she really likes it a lot. She said the food is good. There is a lot for her to do. She likes doing crafts like making jewelry, she does painting, she plays bingo, bowling and participates in music. Singers like Frank Sinatra come in. She is socializing more and they do a good job in trying to involve the family too. They have brunches for the family to come out and visit. My mom has also been in a couple of dinners where they take them out to dinners. Overall, we are very happy with them."

"We have chosen Brookdale Northampton. I am happy with it. Everybody is helpful. It is very positive. They have worked out things for us and helped us set up something that would work for my father and my mother. I’m very positive about it. The room is kind of an apartment that is rather limited. It is not with-a-kitchen-type apartment, but my parents will have all their meals in the dining room. The room is basically 2 of their studios put together. The meals are included in the price, but I don’t think anything is free. They have a lot of functions and facilities for the residents to do things. It is a very social place. They seemed to be active in all kinds of stuff. It is open where they can go outside if they want to walk around. "

"We visited Penn Assisted Care for mom. The appearance was good, it was clean, and everything seemed satisfactory. It seems like a nice place. We looked at a room with two beds, it looks clean and everything was adequate. The person who assisted me was very helpful and gave a good explanation of everything. We saw the dining area, it looked nice. We saw some people sitting, relaxing, watching TV."

"My sister moved up to Phoebe Richland Community. It was very welcoming. They gave her all the physical therapy she could handle, which was great. She had physical therapy almost every day and occupational therapy almost every day when she got there. She still gets it quite frequently. The staff is very nice. She enjoys the other residents there. She says she has a wonderful time getting to know them and they're very caring also. I was there one Saturday when the director himself was helping someone move into their memory care area. He was moving the clothing and stuff in himself on a Saturday. They're just delightful. There's an exercise class of some kind every morning, wheelchair volleyball, chair, or tai-chi. There's at least one activity every morning and one or two activities every afternoon. Every day I call or when I talk to my sister, she'll say, "Oh yes, we had an exercise this morning." It's a smaller place, so they can't offer the diversity of activities that a larger facility might offer. The assisted living has a beautiful lounge area when you walk in. The dining room is lovely. You couldn't ask for anything better. I get no complaints from my sister except there's no salt, but she can bring some herself. That's for health reasons. I saw two small library reading areas, a game room, a big lounge, and a dining room. She's in a temporary room right now because there were no rooms available, so it's a little small but very nice and furnished. It has a dresser, a wardrobe, a chair, a bed, a little kitchenette, and a beautiful bathroom that's handicapped accessible. It is less expensive than others for definitely something better. Their staff is especially caring. This place is much more consistent with their staffing, which means the staff gets to know their people better."
