Ivy Woods Care Center

We go to Ivy Woods Healthcare Center every week to see a family member. I think that they don't seem to understand dementia there, even though I'm sure they've had many patients with dementia. They didn't seem to know how to handle my relative's agitation. I'm not sure if the staff needed education or what, but most of the staff is great; some are not. The food is pretty good. Their building is just one floor, which is nice. There's no elevator. They just remodeled within this past year so they got new floors. It's pretty clean. They have a small courtyard where people can go out to (that's mostly used by smokers) while all the activities are in the dining room. They also have one small lounge that's mostly used for meetings or visitors (residents don't use it). They have bingo, movies, and different activities, too.
