"I have to share how I feel about the Dumont Center for Rehabilitation. The place is beautiful and comfortable to visit. The staff are welcoming and helpful with all our needs. Starting with Executive Administrator all the way to the hospitality staff, they’re 5 star. My mother has been a resident for five months, on the third floor unit, and the improvement in her is night & day. She was unsure about staying, but now she is one of the staff as she walks around making others feel at home. I can go on forever with my gratitude, but I’ll stop. I just have to thank you, Dumont Center, for giving my family and I the confidence to place our loving mother in your care. For ever grateful!"

"Sands Point Center for Health and Rehabilitation was very clean and had a very comfortable feel to it. It was very homey and decorated well. The staff was very friendly, alert, and answered all my questions. They have courtyards that look very nice, and a nice dining room with a piano. Overall, I liked it a lot."

"It was a hard decision and even harder to come to grips with the fact that it was time and necessary to put our mother in a home. Bethel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was recommended to us. Bethel assured my family and I that my mother would be well taken care of. They were right. When we saw the attentive and kind care they gave my mother, our minds and hearts were put at ease. My family and I were very concerned that mom’s medical history wouldn’t be fully understood, or all of her specific needs be met, or if a change in her medication would make her health spiral down. We were so nervous. Bethel’s Doctors and Nurses paid close attention to our concerns and diligently communicated with my mother’s life-long primary physician, and myself to properly “tweak” and refine her physical and mental needs to get a better understanding. In doing so, Bethel’s wonderful doctors, nurses and health team assessed that she needed to be taken her off five medications that they deemed unnecessary and found her to be over-medicated, prior to admission. My mother suffers from life-long diabetes, depression, chronic back pain, atrophy of her legs, has had a triple by-pass and has dementia. After a couple weeks (remember – it does take time for the body and mind to re-adjust) it was clearly noticeable my mother’s health had changed for the better! She was put on a proper diet for her diabetes and her sugars have been stable and under control. A new medication for depression was prescribed and we see her smile and laugh again. The fog has lifted! Her heart is healthy and the physical therapy department “works those legs!” The emotions and feelings that my family and I had were also taken into consideration. The social work team, keep us informed regularly on how mom is doing. They have also helped my family and I cope with putting a parent in a nursing facility and to cope with/and better understand dementia. Bethel is a clean and friendly facility Again, Bethel assured us of our decision in choosing a nursing facility, and they were right. My family and I are very pleased and thankful. "

"Veterans Home is only twenty years old. It was built in 2001, and it's just one floor. All the rooms have bay windows, so each bed is by a bay window. On days when things are really strict there, as far as visitation with COVID, at least your family member can come to the window. Even though there are 342 beds, they are distributed into these six pods, and each pod has forty-something residents. Each of those sections have their own nurse's station and their own stuff going on, so you're really not in a building where 200-something people are using the same facilities. Each pod has its own entity. Aesthetically, it looks beautiful, and it's gorgeous. They also have beautiful grounds, and there's a VA hospital just across the street."

"The staff was very friendly and helpful to my grandmother at this facility. They always came quickly when she needed assistance, and they were always kind and patient with her when she needed cheering up or help in any way. They would often honor her wishes when she said she wanted something special to eat or drink, and would watch over her to make sure she was getting the nutrition she needed. The facility also had bingo nights, movie nights, and all sorts of other events for the residents, which my grandmother always commented about. She said she enjoyed them and met some very nice people through those activities. While living there, my grandmother also had several roommates who were nice and kept her company as well. Overall, I was happy with the facilities and amenities offered by this assisted living provider, and would recommend it to people in the future. "

"I moved my Dad in a week ago. So far, so good. The staff is very friendly and seems willing to help at any time. I The facility itself is clean, my Dad is happy .The nursing staff is lovely and very helpful. The administrator was a godsend when I needed help. My only issue is the smoking that goes on in front of the entrance. "

"My mother was only at Cedar Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for a little bit. Her roommate was very helpful. She was watching out for her. I think she was a pediatric nurse. It's tough being in there. There were old people there, but they had young patients in there, too, that were injured. It's like a rehab place. They had a common area with a garden outside in the center. She's in a shared room. They usually gave her a soft diet, three meals, but she didn't want to eat much. It's a good structure. They had an activity room and somebody came in to volunteer one time. We were on a restricted time there with the COVID precautions. Nobody was gonna take her because she had dementia, but they took her there."

"We moved my dad to The Emerald Peek for rehabilitation purposes early in March. After talking with them, we found out that we could actually keep him in the skilled nursing facility since we were very impressed with what they did. The staff is excellent and treat my dad like he's their grandpa. They constantly give him attention and take care of him very well. My dad seems to be much better, much more attentive, has a smile on his face, and is talking with everyone. He's really doing well in this place, so we're happy to have him there. I didn't try the food but my sister and mom ate with my dad a few times, and the food was fine, and they adjust it to his liking. They make sure that there's nothing that he has to really chew on aggressively. My dad's room is not nearly as pretty as some of the assisted living places since it's a very basic double room, and he's with somebody else. They have a TV and a few chairs in there. It's more like a hospital room but it's very comfortable it works for him very well. The place is a little dingy and not the prettiest looking place around, but their service is great and excellent. They actually get him involved in activities like singing, music, and dance. They also have chair yoga and physical therapy. It's pretty expensive, though."

"It's a very quick provider. All the nurses were wonderful and the occupational therapist and physical therapist were great. It's just the one aide that we had, but she's no longer taking care of my mother. My mother stays there for physical therapy. She's having surgery on both knees, so after the surgery she will be at the nursing facility of the Field Home until she can go home. Everyone's taking good care of her there and I call every day to make sure she's taken care of. I'm there every weekend. I would suggest though that they take my mom outside for some fresh air everyday a little bit. She does tell them that but they said they're understaffed. At least spending a few more hours outside and not keeping her in her room because she gets lonely. She can't walk. I don't have other complaints other than that. It's a clean place. The atmosphere is pretty good. The staff are great! It's just sometimes you get a nursing aide and they don't like their jobs too much. They don't do good of a job, but you get people like that everywhere. Otherwise, everybody is very good. "

"I was reluctant to leave my elderly father at any nursing home or rehab facility because I never had an experience with these facilities and thought he would be unhappy and scared to be away from our family. But, dad needed the care that I could not offer while recovering from a stroke. Fortunately, Bethel provided him with excellent care. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The services offered got my dad back to being independent so he could come home after two weeks. My father talks positively about his pleasant experience, even though he admits to giving them a "hard time" when he started. Bethel embraced his stubborn and non-cooperative attitude and managed to get him to enjoy his time there. Thank you to the staff at Bethel for helping my family during this challenging time."

"My Mom was on the 3rd floor in rehab. Everyone in Physical Therapy were great with her. She was there for 1 1/2 years. The Nursing Station on the 3rd floor were wonderful to her. When she first arrived she needed Therapy to regain her strength after a very bad fall. The Nurses & Nurses Aides especially (Nicole), all cared for her with patience and compassion. My Mom always said on a scale of 1-10, they were a 12... My interactions with the Staff was always helpful and informative. Thank you"

"My mother is here. This place does the best for EVERY patient. The staff on the first floor are compassionate and extremely caring for the patients. There are too many people to shout out. But I want to mention a few. Number 1 is Pearl, no particular order…Nurse Katie, Frank, Nurse Johnson, CNA Maria, CNA Mika, CNA Regine, Alex(speech therapist) ALL the physical and occupational therapist, Bethany ( always smiling at the front desk), Nurse Julianna, all the office staff, Dr Shag, Michelle the dietician, Albert who makes it a point to come in and get my mom to smile and too many more that I don’t know their names. This has been a very trying time for my mom and the family. Thanks to the staff at Friedwald it has been made easier for all of us. Hopefully I didn’t forget anyone, but you all will be part of our family"

"I toured Kendal On Hudson. It's clean. The people were friendly, professional, courteous, and kind. They have swimming and a gym. They have scheduled exercise classes if you want to join. I met a few staff and they're very professional, very kind, and very friendly. I have tried their meal. They have an indoor restaurant, and the food is delicious. It's a beautiful place. They have assisted living, independent living, and nursing homes. The Hudson River is right there and it's beautiful scenery."
