"The Residence at Park Ridge was very nice. We visited the memory care unit and walked through the assisted living. It was a very nice place. It was clean. The memory care unit was very nice. They're staffed well. The layout was very nice. They had a big building for assisted care, and then one part of that building was memory care. The staff was very nice and very experienced. You could see that the staff they had in the memory care were working with the people, but I didn't talk to them or anything."

"We chose The Allendale Community for Senior Living for Mom because we like the environment. The people are very relaxed and friendly. It's very pretty, and it's close to home. She's in memory care. They're extremely helpful and friendly, and the residents there looked very happy compared to other places, and relaxed. They contacted me already a few times just to keep me updated. I just saw one meal there and it looked good. They have activities. It's very, very clean."

"I went to Maplewood at Danbury. It's been there for several years, and it's the first facility they built. The floors were clean, everything was waxed, and everything was pristine. I can't say anything bad about it. I didn't see a lot of people moving around, but everything was nice, and they had activities throughout the course of the day."

"I visited Glen Arden, had lunch with them and talked to some of the residents, and they're very happy. They had assisted living, but you have to rent or buy your apartment and move up to all three levels of care depending on your needs. The initial investment is over $200,000, but it's a really nice facility, very homey, and had a very positive atmosphere. The residents I interacted with were very positive about their experiences. The food was okay. The staff was very pleasant, very helpful, and answered questions. You're allowed to have your own car and if I got really sick and needed more nursing care, I'd advance to that step within the framework of the apartment I purchased. If I die a couple of years after I'm in there, a lot of that money is reimbursable to my family. If I outlive that money, they keep me, I don't get thrown out even though there's no money left. They'll provide housekeeping services and linen changes and provide the next level of care like an aide or go to 24-hour nursing care if you get sick. They'll move your car and take the snow off in the winter. They offer bus services and recreational program. It's a really nice facility."

"I took a little tour of Maplewood at Darien. It seemed to be very nice. Everything was first-class. It's a new place so everything is clean and up-to-date. I don't know about their medical facility, but the amenities are probably good."

"Wartburg is beautiful and amazing. It's a campus, but they have full service with nursing and rehab and different buildings on-site. It's a gated place with a large grass area. The setting is quite nice. There are lots of places to walk, and there's a little chapel on the premise. As far as the food, I would give them a rating of 5. They had music going on while we were there and interactive things. I saw an exercise room and a whole list of programs that they have going on daily like movies, beaches, and a lot of activities. The assisted living was all in one building."

"I never would have believed that the care my stepdad has received from the Van Duzer home was possible. We moved my dad from another well known and larger facility that I thought was giving him a good quality life but as his condition progressed they were unable to provide him with the level of care he required. Brian and Donna welcomed him and treated him like family from the first moment he set foot in their home. He is pampered. They keep him clean, trimmed, and comfortable. They have a calm, fun nature and the caregivers they hire are the same. The food is gourmet, organic, fragrant and healthy. The home is impeccably clean. The rooms are large. My stepdad is very happy. Donna and Brian's attention to details makes my stepdad's day enjoyable and fun. Their sense of humor is infectious. He has lost unwanted weight, and overall health and mood greatly improved. What a blessing! Words cannot express the deep gratitude we have for the Van Duzer home. Their fee was comparable to his former home but the family atmosphere Donna and Brian create is priceless."

"The staff was very friendly and attentive. They were also highly knowledgeable and professional. It is a very caring and comfortable environment. My wife and I were never worried about how my mother was treated and they were always understanding and informative when my wife (who is my mother's primary care giver) had questions or concerns. Bethel Health Care has a great reputation locally and it is well deserved. "

"My father moved into Maplewood at Stony Hill. It's very clean. There is a smell there, but that can't be helped. They seemed to be on top of things. They were able to straighten up my father's medications, for which he would be agitated at times and had issues with. They have a doctor who comes a couple of times a week, and he was able to be seen by the doctor. The doctor adjusted the medication. So, knock on wood, everything seems to be going OK. I went there on Father's Day and they had all the residents in this one large room, and they were waiting for some sort of entertainment. They also shared with me videos of him dancing. It seems like he's enjoying himself."

"Maplewood at Newtown is a very nice facility, but it is very expensive. We visited their assisted living community. That community is very nice. The layout and décor is very well maintained. The staff that toured me around was very good and very knowledgeable. The food they offered was very good. "

"Maplewood at Strawberry Hill was very clean. There were a lot of windows and a lot of natural light. The staff that I met was very professional and very pleasant, and the tour guide, Cary Jackson, was very good. There was a garden courtyard and a hair salon. The dining area was very nice, well-lit, clean, and pleasant."
