"Everything's fine at this community. I put my uncle there because it's close to where I live. It seems like in a nice, decent area of town. The rooms were decent-sized and big enough for my uncle. He has the room by himself, has his own bathroom, refrigerator, and it has adequate ventilation. I thought it was nice. Most of the staff are very helpful, attentive, and courteous. The food seemed pretty good, too. I've eaten there a number of times. They also had quite a few activities like sing-alongs, news in the mornings, mass for the Catholics on Saturdays, and bingo or movies a couple of times a week. However, maybe they could have a little bit of variety of food at times and to make the food not so big portions. Most seniors don't eat that much. My uncle also complained a little bit about they had too much pasta, not enough potatoes or not enough rice. The place was also small and only assisted living. They didn't have any dementia care or nursing home. They were in a separate building on another side of the street. "

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."

"I had a good visit at the Pine Ridge. I talked to the lady for about 40 minutes and she told me her place does not take Medicaid. I went there, but I was not allowed to get into the house. We were talking outside the house. Outside, the grass was a little bit tall. They need somebody to take care of their lawn. She's a very warm lady, very nice, talked to me, and answered a lot of the questions. The building was big enough for six people. They added small parts into the building for two employees who live there. They had a yard. They allow people to bring dogs there, too. I felt welcomed to be there. The lady gave me a very good impression. I did not feel anything uncomfortable."

"The Residence at Park Ridge was very nice. We visited the memory care unit and walked through the assisted living. It was a very nice place. It was clean. The memory care unit was very nice. They're staffed well. The layout was very nice. They had a big building for assisted care, and then one part of that building was memory care. The staff was very nice and very experienced. You could see that the staff they had in the memory care were working with the people, but I didn't talk to them or anything."

"Maplewood at Darien is small and you feel comfortable. There were residents in their wheelchair, walking around, in their walkers, sitting in the lounge, and everybody seemed happy. The staff was happier than those in the big facilities. They smile at you and ask you if you need something. They have a movie room, library, and places where people do projects like arts to keep them occupied with guidance. We saw the menu and we got to talk to the chef who uses organic food."

"I visited Maplewood at Stony Hill. We were treated in an excellent fashion to an extraordinary lunch. Their cuisine was beyond comparison. We had one of the directors with us explaining all kinds of things, and it was a very pleasant experience. It's brand new, and it is exclusively for dementia patients. It was an open house, and I did not understand all the decorative things that were done for dementia patients -- the carpeting, the lighting -- but it wasn't obviously abnormal. We saw a few people doing a few activities. We saw a room, and I like the showers very much because they had no lip. "

"Maplewood at Strawberry Hill was very clean. There were a lot of windows and a lot of natural light. The staff that I met was very professional and very pleasant, and the tour guide, Cary Jackson, was very good. There was a garden courtyard and a hair salon. The dining area was very nice, well-lit, clean, and pleasant."

"We moved my mom to The Allendale Community for Senior Living. One of the things we like about it is they can care for her whether she's in assisted living, memory lane, nursing care, or whatever situation she winds up in. She can keep staying at the facility when she has to go on Medicaid after the money runs out. On the whole, it is very nice there, and the people are friendly. This place happens to be very close to relatives, too, so that helps. They have a salon, a game room, a little cinema room, a variety of activities, and Happy Hour. Also, people come in to play live music. They seem to have activities and things going on all the time. "

"I have been living in Maplewood at Newtown. It is fine. I have been here for over a year now. The staff members are very nice and very accommodating. They have bingo, crossword puzzles, and mahjong. They have a little movie theater, too. Food is very good."

"Wartburg is beautiful and amazing. It's a campus, but they have full service with nursing and rehab and different buildings on-site. It's a gated place with a large grass area. The setting is quite nice. There are lots of places to walk, and there's a little chapel on the premise. As far as the food, I would give them a rating of 5. They had music going on while we were there and interactive things. I saw an exercise room and a whole list of programs that they have going on daily like movies, beaches, and a lot of activities. The assisted living was all in one building."
