"Atria Woodlands was immaculate. The facilities were excellent. Everything looked very nice. The apartments were very nice. They had thre meals a day, but the kitchen and dining area in the apartments seemed to be small. Otherwise, it's very nice. They had a lot of extra activities, and everything was exceptionally clean and up-to-date and looked very nice. They had another building that had people who required a great deal of assistance. They did not offer a meal, but they gave us some sample pickles. We saw the menu, and it looked excellent."

"My mom is at The Residence at Park Ridge. Her apartment is spacious. She is in a one-bedroom. She has a nice-sized living room and a kitchenette. We did the shared room rate because that's what she could afford, and when she was on Medicaid, like all the other places, she had to have a roommate, so that's the downside. The staff there are incredible. They're very friendly and supportive. They're there with any questions. The food is very good. I had lunch there, and their lunch was excellent. And my mom loves their food. The place is extremely clean. Every part of it and every area that we want to, it's immaculate. With regards to activities, they have a wide range of activities. I don't think they have as much as some of the other places that I saw, but my mom is very happy with them. They do bingo, arts and crafts, and different games. They have movies. They have happy hour and they have appetizers, cheese, and crackers for their happy hour. They also have milkshakes and coffee socials. They do a lot."

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."

"I toured Brookdale Emerson. I liked that it was very thorough. The patients were very satisfied, and the food was great. Dimitri was super helpful and answered every question I had. I only liked a couple of activities, and I was presented with about 50."

"My mom is in Wartburg. She went there for rehab, and they have an assisted living program right there, so we transferred her from rehab right to assisted living. To me, the place is excellent. They have excellent care there. She had excellent care in the rehab center. They have excellent ratings. She is in senior housing now. The staff is wonderful. I haven't had a problem. They're very pleasant and very easy to talk to. They take care of my mother, which is the main thing. She has a studio apartment and she's very happy. Her room is excellent. It's clean. They come in constantly to do housekeeping. They're very excellent. Basically, they remodeled the place and it's beautiful. The grounds are beautiful. She is getting very good care there. The food is good. There's three meals a day. If you don't like what they're serving you, you can get plenty of substitutes. Whatever you want, the chef makes it for you. Right now, because of the COVID, they only have a music program, trivia, and Jeopardy. They don't have too many activities. They can't have anybody from the outside come in. The music program is nice. They have somebody coming in twice a week to do music. It was also the most reasonable place that we checked out."

"The rooms are tight but adequate. Surprisedly there are no showers in the rooms. I guess for safety reasons. One staff member Roy, needs to be mentioned. He was a CMA and went back to school to become a nurse. Excellent nurse. His knowledge is great only equalled by his compassion. Thank you, Roy!!"

"Atria is pet-friendly for service dogs. The rooms are very nice, the food is very good, and their dining area is very attractive. It’s in a very nice location, right next to the Parkway. There are a lot of medical facilities in the area as well, so it’s very convenient. "

"My mother-in-law is in Atria Darien. They've got palliative care coming in to care for her now, so we're just gonna leave her there. It's like a five-star hotel. It is a beautiful senior facility. It is not for the memory impaired. Most people there just need a little assistance. Some of them have their own cars, so it's just senior living, but it's very beautifully kept and it's clean. The people are very, very nice. The one big drawback is it's extremely expensive. She has a 24-hour aide, but a lot of them don't have aides at all. There's no lockdown or anything like that. You're free to come and go. She has a double room with two full bathrooms because she is very, very competent mentally and she wanted to have an office. They have a studio and a room and a half. They have different options. There are two libraries, a wonderful hair salon, and two dining rooms. There's a chef who's been there for over 24 years, and the food is very good. There are several courtyards for the residents to go out and enjoy. The rooms are comparable to others in the area, price-wise. When you add the assistance, then it becomes extremely expensive."

"I took a little tour of Maplewood at Darien. It seemed to be very nice. Everything was first-class. It's a new place so everything is clean and up-to-date. I don't know about their medical facility, but the amenities are probably good."

"The only place we saw was the Amber Court of Pelham Gardens. They have private rooms, which I thought was nice, but it is expensive. I'm only realizing now that I cannot afford it, so I would have to share a room with someone I don't know. However, I think that Amber Court of Pelham Gardens was a place that we were definitely considering. It was clean. The person who walked through with us was very nice and very informative. We saw that they did have activities. We didn't see exactly what they were, but I saw they did have activities. I know that you can leave the grounds and walk around, which is a plus. It was a very pleasant tour. The place was clean outside and inside. I think there was a gym and a salon."
