Bethel Nursing Home

My father-in-law moved into Bethel Nursing Home. The need became clear that he needed a skilled nursing facility. His wife is still mobile on a walker, so their care needs were quite different. We found this facility, it's only three miles from where their independent senior living apartment is. So, proximity was the primary reason, but that the nursing facility takes Medicaid, which was also a key requirement. Their staffing seems to be on the short side, and the facility is a little on the older side and needs a few updates. But aside from that, I think my father-in-law will get the care that he needs. It's close enough to where my mother-in-law is so she can visit him regularly. They do offer a number of activities.

I was reluctant to leave my elderly father at any nursing home or rehab facility because I never had an experience with these facilities and thought he would be unhappy and scared to be away from our family. But, dad needed the care that I could not offer while recovering from a stroke. Fortunately, Bethel provided him with excellent care. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The services offered got my dad back to being independent so he could come home after two weeks. My father talks positively about his pleasant experience, even though he admits to giving them a "hard time" when he started. Bethel embraced his stubborn and non-cooperative attitude and managed to get him to enjoy his time there. Thank you to the staff at Bethel for helping my family during this challenging time.
