My uncle is at this facility he loves it and the care is just outstanding. From the owners to Michael the administrator to Verisha the social worker I can go on. The Activies are amazing and they keep the residents engaged. There is a genuine care for the residents at this facility I would highly recommend place your family member here if needed.

My mother is in Nyack Ridge. She was there before, and they're pretty good and on top of it. They always keep me informed over everything. A lot of the places wouldn't take her because of her dementia, and she has episodes. A lot of them didn't want to deal with her, but Nyack Ridge was the only place that would take her. She was doing speech therapy. She can't really walk and she needed help putting the fork to her mouth and stuff. They were working with her on that. The facility is actually really nice. Some of the staff have accents you can't really understand, and that gets frustrating, and trying to get a hold of someone is very frustrating, too. You have to call constantly or you get a machine telling you to call back later, so it's pretty much like a toss up. If you get lucky, someone will answer. I've never had any issues with anybody there. My mom likes the food, so I can't complain about that. They have a bunch of different stuff that they do every day, but I don't think my mom participates because she's so confused. They charge way too much, but it's worth it. As long as my mother is taken care of, I don't care.

Earlier this year I applied for long term care for my mother. The experience, from start to finish, was horrific. To start, the receptionist is not meant for the position. At times she answered the phone by saying only "Hello" and would leave me on hold for up to five minutes. She also lacks a personality. The Admissions and Finance team are not on the same page. After speaking to them for over a month, about admission, and thinking it was handled, in the 11th hour I was told a 1-month security deposit was required. I was informed that before we could move forward, I needed to approve. 2 days later I called to let them know I would pay the deposit then was informed that they facility die not have availability. At this point I was sent to the owner, Mike. This person is definitely in the wrong line of work. He is arrogant, combative and lacks empathy for people who are sick and those who care for them. Nursing Homes are a business and Mike is strictly business. His staff had a number of missteps that he would not acknowledge and told me to look elsewhere. Nyack Ridge has rust from top to bottom. If you are looking for a long-term care facility for a family member, scratch Nyack Ridge from your list.

My mom is currently a resident at Nyack Ridge she has been there for over year and during the pandemic. My family and I are very pleased with the facility and how they handled and coordinate with families during this time. The are currently allowing visitors again and we were blessed to see mom again. Thank you to all the staff at Nyack Ridge.

My dad is currently a resident at Nyack Ridge, needless to say the last few months have been unprecedented due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Not being able to see my father has been heartbreaking. However I must commend the staff at Nyack Ridge for the way they handle it throughout. They have gone above and beyond to protect all the residents, as well as the staff. Over the first few months I was contacted on a weekly Basis and update on my dad situation. As well we had FaceTime calls at least once a week. Thank you Vanessa from Activites you are angel you always made sure we had that time with our dad. The facility has been covid free for over 3 months and we have had visitation with my dad which has been so emotional for all my family. Thank you to all the Nyack Ridge heroes. This is an amazing nursing home and I would recommend placing a loved one here.

I recently visited a friend that at this facility which is actually called Nyack Ridge not Nyack Manor was told that was previous ownership. I was very impressed with what I saw. The staff was very attentive to my friend needs as well as there rest of the residents there. There is real genuine feel of happiness I felt in the building which I haven’t seen in other nursing homes. Kudos the the staff there for creating such a happy environment for there residents. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs a nursing home.

Very nice facility with staff that cares. New ownership has made this a first rate facility. Was a patient there and had to relocate to Florida to be closer to my family. Thank you for the care.

Michael (one of the owners) is present and makes himself available. The day today running of the facility is Josh. One of the nicest guys you can meet. He listens to your needs and follows through for you. No facility goes without having issues The administration is very caring and is really there to help with your needs and concerns. And believe me that is so important. Most of the hands on staff are nice and very caring. This Facility has a new regime at the helm, The building itself is old, things need to be replaced/remodeled... and with that said, administration bends over backwards to help you and your family. They listen to your needs and really try their best to make you and your love one comfortable.

My father was recently a resident herme and my family wanted to pass on our experience. At least one of us would visit my father on a daily basis so we were constantly in touch with staff. The nursing was attentive to any health issues that either ourselves or they noticed. We were always called at home if there were any incidents or medical concerns. My father's health was very good while he was with them, and he also gained weight because he liked the food being served. Daily activities kept my father stimulated and physical therapy keep him limber and exercised. The facility might be older but the staff made sure that it was being maintained and clean. Also the owners of the facility were always reaching out to us with any of our concerns and they followed thru. I would definitely recommend this facility for your loved one because we were always able to leave my dad at the end of the day knowing that we could rest assured that he would be ok !

Very caring staff from ownership down. Facility a little dated but they are making changes slowly... Care is first rate. One of their better facilities in Rockland county.

attitude and Nurses don't understand anything about your conditions, they just follow their daily routine. Nyack manor is only for people that can do for themselves and just need a little help. Chose another Pl ace for your love ones.

The therapy was great as well as the food and activities. Was able to attend Catholic mass and no restrictions on meals except for medical reasons. The location is in a nice quiet residential area.

Nyack Manor used to be a "Home away from Home." The building is old, but most of the staff are still there after 40, 30, 20, years. This just means that it is a good place to be. Some staff have some attitude problems, but we were reassured that these are the "chosen few" who needs some reeducation and will be inserviced/retrained. Overall, the staff is generally pleasant, accomodating and really hard working.

My aunt is in Nyack Manor. It's going very well, and I don't have any complaints right now. The staff is satisfactory, friendly, and accommodating. They like her, and she seems to like them. I'm there every other day checking her up. It's not the greatest physical place, but it's convenient to my house. The food could be improved on because she does not eat that well. It is clean, but it's an old building.

A lot of the staff is nice. However a select few need an attitude adjustment. One aide told my grandathert to "shut up" as he was trying to tell her that another resident was talking out or his bed.. Just plain rude. But like I said, a lot of the staff is kind.

11/27/2013 ADMINISTRATION is uncooperative and impersonal to family members. Contradicition to what they preach. They need to walk the walk. Protocols are changed without family being informed in a timely manner. Instead, at the time of the request, that is when the requirements are explained. TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!! Unit staffs are not given enough support. Most staff are kind, but I would have to assume the ones that are not, are very possibly OVERWORKED beyond what should be acceptable capacity of work for anyone. There is not a lack of money received by the facility but where it is being spent is questionable as with most health care facilities.

The staff seemed very cooperative and very friendly towards my family and myself. In discussing the food, my relative did not find it appealing at all. Many times, there were requests for certain items such as citrus, and the food department indicated that the request could not be met at the moment. In fact, their preference would be to have made their own meal, and eat it. The staff was kind enough to allow the family to take home laundry as opposed to doing the laundry in the facility.Overall, the staff seemed to be very accomodating and willing to workwith the family.

My Grandmother recently went into Nyack Mannor. The social workers and administration were very helpful. They councled me on Medicare and Medicaid. The nursing staff is okay. Some of the aides are very kind and empathetic but unfortunately there are a few that are less than kind. I saw one literally tossing patients out of an elevator ,wheelchair after wheelchair. Several had their legs hit walls. She didn't seem to notice or if she did she certainly didn't care. The nursing home seems a bit understaffed. Patients have to wait on average 10 to 20 minutes to get assisstance to use the bathroom, which is probably why they all wear adult diapers. When they change the diapers after they are soiled and wet, the diapers are left in the garbage can in the patients room which is why all of the room smell like a urinal. The building on a whole seems clean and well maintained.
