The staff was very helpful and competent, especially the two Nicole’s who were my favorite nurses. I found the food to be very good. All the meals were on time and well prepared. Overall, my stay accomplished the purpose of recovering from surgery in a pleasant environment."

"I want to let the community know that the Medallion full care center in Colorado Springs is the best I have seen. We needed to find a place for my aunt and were scared to death of having to put her in a nursing home since we couldn't bring her to our home. I know God led us to the Medallion because she was very scared and angry when she went in and after just one day, she was happy, eating and loved her nurses and CNAs. Our family has never seen such love given to these lovely little people during their last years. My aunt gained 10 pounds in one week because the food was so good. She was so thin, we were worried about her but she looked forward to going to the dining room each day and said she couldn't believe she could finally have such an enjoyable meal. The staff was wonderful. We would watch them stop in the halls to laugh and visit with their patrons. If they couldn't eat by themselves, they sat in their rooms and helped them. Everything was very clean and they kept my aunt very neat and clean every day. Each staff member brought joy into her room every time they entered. They cared about her dignity at all times and made sure to invite them to the events planned for each day and encouraged them to go and at least try the event. They walked the ones that wanted to go to the restaurant across the street just to get them out and a little special dinner outing. My precious aunt was so happy during the last few weeks of her life. Our family couldn't be more grateful to this amazing home for the elderly. When you hear of the neglect and abuse of our elderly matriarchs, the Medallion was a breath of fresh air and gave us new insight as to how they can be cared for. I don't think there is any reason their food can't be good since that is the highlight of their day. Even the dining room staff were friendly and helpful with their meal planning and offered them their choices for each meal in case they didn't care for the main entre that meal. They also tried to make sure they enjoyed who their table mates were. With so many without family members to visit, the staff can be their family and bring them love and attention which they did. We had only one minor complaint about one angry nurse and they immediately worked with that staff member and apologized to us for that situation. If you are looking for a loving place for your loved one, I would highly recommend the Medallion for their care. While she was living her last moments, there were many nurses and staff members and even those from the dining room that came to tell her farewell and even wanted to be called when it was very close to her passing into God's arms. Their patients are not always easy to care for and what they do is not easy but each one made it seem like all patrons were their family and they cared. Thank you Medallion from the administration to the housekeepers for all that you are doing for our loved ones. "

"My dad was at The Center at Centennial. It was a very nice facility, and they had a very, very large rehab room, which was wonderful. All of the rehab employees were wonderful. My dad really enjoyed the rehab he got there. It was very effective. The staff was very caring. Some of the CNAs were a little rough, but the nurses were very caring. They kept his sugar under control. We didn't see the physician too often, but maybe that's because he didn't need to. But overall, the facility was very nice. The rooms were a decent size and the TV worked. The bathroom was very accessible for him and there was a shower in there, a toilet, and a sink. I was very pleased with that place. I tried to get him there this time, but they didn't have any beds available. I know the food wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. My dad was satisfied."

"From the hospital, Mom was transferred to Life Care Center, where she stayed for six weeks. They didn't know that my mom had not been on insulin before she was in the hospital. They didn't think that it was something they should teach her, and they assumed that she already knew. When they were releasing her, I told them that she doesn't know how to do insulin herself. So they kept her a couple of extra weeks and worked on that very hard to make sure that she knew. They switch on a sliding fill, which I knew she wouldn’t be able to remember how to do because the fall had taken her procedural memory. Then for the flex pen, what they did was they wrote out a detailed instruction of what she should do in the right order and had it laminated. She kept it right beside her for when she's using her flex pen. The building that my mom was in was half rehab and half long-term care. She was in one hall, the nurses were in the center, and the other hall was the long-term care. One of things that was nice about it was that they brought the entertainment into the dining hall, and everyone could go see it, and not just the ladies in the rehab but also the people form the long-term care could go as well. Meals were great, and they usually had two options for people to choose from. I really like Life Care Center a lot, and I thought they were really a good facility. However, on the rehab side, when they said you had to be released, you had to be released. "

"This assisted living facility has a wonderful and caring staff. They always make sure that the patients and visitors feel comfortable and welcome. The facility was well organized and clean. The food is excellent. There was always someone asking the patient if he needed anything and asked me if I needed anything. They also were very friendly and I could tell that they were caring and compassionate. The administrative staff always called me to keep me posted about the patient and in emergency situations which I appreciated very much. This facility also sits in a nice quiet neighborhood so it seemed peaceful day and night. That gave it a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a loved one that needs extra care than can be provided at home. I can't say enough good things about it. "

"I was sent to Terrace Gardens by Grandview Hospital three weeks ago for a 30-day respite stay. I was, for all practical purposes, bedridden. However, thanks to the very focused health care professionals who work here, I am up and about and semi-ambulatory. The standard of care at this facility is very well balanced. Nursing care, weekly visits by the staff doctor, nutritional planning and diet, rehab classes, housekeeping services and daily social activities all contribute to successful recuperation and favorable outcomes. I am so impressed with my progress that I have elected to complete my full 9 to 12 physical therapy program as a full time resident here. I am confident that the continuing care I receive will lead to my full recovery and prepare me to resume a fully independent life and lifestyle. Mr. Terry L., Facility Administrator, is to be commended for assembling a very fine group of professional and service staff whose well directed and focused efforts work together seamlessly to deliver a health care environment well suited to attaining successful outcomes. The fact that all of the staff genuinely respect and enjoy each other's company is a bonus which does not go unnoticed by the residents. "The Facility is clean and newly painted. They allow patients to smoke outside the front door. The staff is not so friendly. They are rude and do not acknowledge that you said hello to them. Every time I am visiting my friend there it takes anywhere from ten minutes to two hours for a nurse to come to the room after the call button was pushed. The food is great. On Friday's they have activities that the residents may or may not participate in. They also have trips where they go fishing or to Wal Mart. They will help the patient with bathing and make sure that their rooms are clean and tidy. If you ask they will generally let you take the patient out for a walk and there is a park less than a block away so that is nice to do. Their are no doctors on staff but they do take them by shuttle bus to the doctor's office when needed. So overall the care is good but not great. They have private and shared rooms available. "

"I have my husband placed at Laurel Manor. Their food and menus are adequate. My husband has gained his appetite. They took him off hospice and now he's a regular patient. I'm very happy with his attitude now. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. They let me know if my husband is irritable or like when he fell off the bed and hurt himself. They keep me updated on the details when I'm not available. "

"Rooms are a good size. The facility is very homey. Not overly big like most that seem to swallow you up and turn you into a number. The staff make you feel like family. The food is good and they give a decent sized variety of options for each meal. They have a lovely outdoor area and always have activities going."
