"My mom is at Horizons Care Center. Actually, I've been very happy with what I've seen. She is in the memory care wing right now, which I think might be a little more than what she needs. It was based on the hospital's evaluation of her, and they felt that she needed significantly more care. From what I've seen of the facility (and I've been there many times to visit my mom), I like what I see. People are very friendly, and it's just a very good place for her. Their room is a little bit bland. It's more like an institutional room than it is a bedroom. That's in the memory care wing only. Usually what they try to do with the memory care patient is they get them out in the general area, and that's where they spend most of their day. Essentially, they just go to their room to sleep. My mom has no complaints with the food. I haven't tried it. From what I've seen of it, it looks very good. It looks well prepared. The dietician came and spoke with us before they admitted her. We talked about her likes and dislikes, so it looks to me like they are trying to take care of the people. I can't speak much about their activities, but I've seen them. I've seen them do volleyball with a balloon and a net up in the inside area, and they hit the balloon back and forth. There are things like that. For the general people, they have an area where they get together and talk/visit. In the memory care, the activities are a little more structured, but they try to keep them occupied as well and engage their minds. One day when I was there, they were talking about where each of them was from. They looked at a video of the state where they lived and things like that."
