"My sister is in Sierra Healthcare Community. They have very nice people and it's a very good place. She likes it. They're very good, patient, nice, understanding, and seem to know what the patients require. They do craft projects, group get-togethers, and music. "

"I've been to a number of assisted living and nursing homes. This is by far the best. The owner has been there 15 years and many of the staff have been there 9 to 20 or more years. Some of the residents have reached 99, 101 and 102. That doesn't happen without good care and caring personnel. My friend is 84 who just transferred there from Florida. She is really happy and getting better. She was in a rehab center in Florida and they wouldn't let her walk. Here they encourage it and she's thrilled. "

"The staff people at Wheat Ridge Manor are wonderful. Although the facility itself is older, they have taken good care of it over the years. When I visited (without an appointment) prior to placing my aunt, I was impressed by the home-like atmosphere and how clean everything was - including no odors. They make every effort to ensure the people are well cared for and comfortable. The grounds are lovely and people can be outside or in the solarium year round. It was challenging to find a place for my aunt because her mind continues to be sharp, but her little body is wearing out. She was not happy about giving up her independence and having to live in a care facility. The staff at Wheat Ridge Manor have been wonderful with her and treat her with respect and kindness. They have activities, religious services, outings, movies, treats, therapies, and crafts. After visiting numerous facilities in the area, we are very pleased with Wheat Ridge Manor. "

"My mother was a resident and I can not thank the staff enough for their care and treatment. My mother passed away but the treatment the staff gave my family during the time of our loss was phenomenal. My mother was honored and was taken from the facility with a blanket that covered her except her face and it was touching. "Bethany Rehab Center is very nice and very clean. It has a very relaxing atmosphere with their furnishing and decor. It looks warm, welcoming and comfortable. It feels less like a facility and more like home. The staff is very friendly. They seem very knowledgeable and very welcoming. They also have activities for their patients. If Bethany Rehab Center had an opening at that time, that's probably where I would have placed my dad. "

"My mother was at Sandalwood. She passed while she was there. Basically, my mother quit eating, quit drinking, had high blood pressure, and all sorts of other extenuating circumstances. Basically, she had a lot going on with her. They did their job and did exactly what they should have done. They gave her whatever pain meds she needed. They tried their best, but my mother was 79 and had been going downhill for several years. My mother spent a total of about 30 days at Sandalwood Manor. I tried the food, and it was fine. She was on a very restricted diet. One of the symptoms of stage six dementia is that they forget how to eat and how to swallow. They had to actually sit with her and tell her to take a bite and swallow the bite, clear them out, and then take another bite. It's to that extent; that's the level of care my mother was at. The staff members were all very good, very nice, and gentle. There was just the one nurse that I did not like. I know you can't break out one nurse, but I just didn't like the way she physically handled my mother. My mother was 5 foot 2 and weighed 195 pounds, so she was literally too much for one person to handle. It was an older facility, but it was spotless, kept up, and very clean. It was a little pricey for what it was. However, they had the highest staff per patient ratio of any of them. In the nurses station (while she was in rehab), there were always four nurses sitting there."

"My husband moved into Villa Manor Care Center. It's really probably one of the very few places I found who were willing to work with me. I had to make a quick decision because he had to be out of the other place, and they bent over backwards to make sure he got into this place. They were very cooperative and we've had nothing but good care since he's been here. The staff is very friendly, very nice, and very helpful. The amenities are beautiful, very good, and very clean. They have a variety, but we have a private room. It was my first choice when I started looking because I had driven past it so many times, and I had a friend who was there and liked it. Price was a little high. Everyone that I've worked with has been good. And the thing is it's five minutes from my house, so he's here."

"Little Sisters of the Poor care facility is run by Catholic Charities. It is a medium sized nursing home. There is another wing for just assisted living with apartments. It is as the name indicates for the poor and is extremely hard to get into as there is a waiting list. There are 19 little sisters that admiminister the facility and there are also registered nurses on each floor and only 5 residents per CNA so the care is exceptional. The amenities include two different style dining rooms, several activity rooms and exercise and recreational areas. The staff is paid at an above average rate and they are able to retain long time employees, some for over 20 years. The food is excellent and always varied. There is a ton of daily activities to keep everyone busy and healthy in mind, body and spirit. There is a chapel on sight with mass everyday at 11. Public transportation runs a regular bus through the facility and there are also outings in the van provided by the home. It is an exceptional example of what a long care facility should be, extra clean, no funny smells and warm and inviting! "

"We are really happy with Meridian Lakewood and having a very good experience. The staff is doing a good job getting my mom rehabilitated. The room is large, and the dining room is very nice. I tried the food in the building but not on the floor where she is living. She seems to like it. Mom is in a care center for skilled nursing. The staff is really friendly and helpful. "

"I can't say enough good things about this facility. I saw firsthand the genuine caring for each resident. The place was clean. The care was prompt and compassionate. The food was great with many choices for individual tastes. The therapy, both occupational and physical, were outstanding. "My father will be moving into Westwood Post Acute. I was able to see everything. They're gonna keep offering physical therapy. They're also going to be on whatever medicine that he needs. Once he gets here, they'll find him a primary doctor that could work with him. He will have his own room and his own bathroom. They will just keep working with him, keeping an eye on him 24/7. He's still getting fed by a PEG tube, and they'll take care of that and all that stuff. The care that they give to their patients is good. It's clean and spacious. They're also going to keep working with his speech therapy, so that's a good thing as well. The room was good and had a good layout for him. They have a place to be able to play card games and watch TV, and they even take them out to the Rockies game and stuff like that. They have good activities there. It's an older building, but it's well taken care of. The staff was caring. They helped me out a lot with the information that I needed. They have a garden area so that if they want to plant something, they could go there and plant and they would be able to take care of it."

"I lived at Parkview Care Center for several months. I liked the food, the people and the staff. I left only because I wanted to be at a higher altitude with a cooler climate. They have a number of activities. They went to Estes Park for picnics, they went to theater for movies, and they went to restaurants like Village Inn on Wednesdays. I would recommend them to others. "My friend moved to Arbor View Nursing Home. It's an excellent place. He likes the staff and he likes the food, and they seem to be very caring. It's an older facility, but he's in a private room and he has his bathroom. It has a nice TV, but the building itself is a little shabby. Some people do go out of their rooms into the common spaces, and they're nice. What I like is that they have a very large birdcage where white birds are flying around, sometimes I'd put my friend in his wheelchair down there, and he likes to look at the birds."
