"I moved here. It just fit with what I was looking for. They seem to be very friendly. My room is very large, and it is very nicely set up, and they have just renovated it. The food is very good. They play card games, do exercise every day, and have occasional sing-alongs and trips to local stores and restaurants and things like that. They have a lot of resident parking near to various entrances, so you don't have to walk a long way."

"Brookdale University Park was very large. It would probably be a little easier to get lost there socially, but it was clean and nicely decorated. A lot of people were living in their apartments, and they kept their doors open; I thought this was welcoming and trusting. "

"Springbrooke is great, I was surprised that it was really beautiful. The rooms are really nice, they have large balconies, and nice garden area. The staff was friendly, polite, and seemed really helpful to the clients. They had a movie theater and lots of activities planned. "

"I have chosen them for my husband. I like that it's more of a home-type setup. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They made me feel at ease. Activities were going on and it was a more free-moving situation. We saw one-bedroom apartments and they were good. They provided privacy to the individuals, which gives them a level of dignity. We went to the dining room and then there was a TV room and we got to see the outside area. There's a deck with a grill and table and chairs and then there's a garden area and a very large backyard. I was quite impressed with that. I liked it. The facility was quite clean. We saw the memory care and I liked that it was very secure. You couldn't go in and out, and the doors were locked down. Everything worked out as far as my needs, my husband's needs, and location."

"Balfour Riverfront Park offers memory care, assisted, and independent living. I'm in their independent living section. The number one thing that I like here is the community. We're from all over the country, mostly because our children or some relatives live out here in Denver. Denver is beautiful and has beautiful weather. I like the staff because they're very caring. I even wonder if Human Resources, before they hire somebody, asks if they love their grandma because they are very patient. The staff like each other, we like them, and they like us. It has nothing to do with the actual physical building and what it offers. It's really the community. There are so many activities here. I was just doing water aerobics this morning. The food is good, and they're always open to suggestions. They accept recipes that people offer and work with them. The security is good, too. Several times a week, they have transportation out somewhere, like to a museum, shopping, and all kinds of places. If you wanna go specifically for a doctor's appointment, they'll take you. There are several drivers, and they would take you within a 15-mile radius. This place is very posh and very classy. There are even fresh flowers on the dining tables. I get what I pay for, and I pay a lot. They discourage seniors from driving, so to park in the garage here, it's $400 a month. However, they have a driving service within 15 miles, and we're right downtown and just three blocks from Union Station. For two years before I moved here, I lived downtown and learned how to ride public transportation everywhere, so I am happy here."

"I toured Lakewood Reserve. It's a standard-type facility. They have security there and secured rooms. They have a good place for them to eat and they have some different types of activities to keep people busy. They have 24/7 nursing care. Everything I saw indicated that it was very clean. As far as the atmosphere, it seemed like it was a good place. There were people in the activity room and in some other areas, and everybody seemed satisfied with what they were doing. Kim showed me around. She's knowledgeable about it and understands what people need and when they're looking for things. Everything she was telling me was upfront and she showed me good things."

"My parents have lived at Legacy for 9 months and they just love it. My dad loves the fact that there is a much higher ratio of men to women than there seemed to be at all the other places we visited. The staff is so caring and the food is excellent. When my mom had to go to a rehab facility for a few weeks, someone from Legacy stopped by to visit and bring her flowers. It was such a caring and kind gesture and it made my mom and dad's day. It frustrates me that someone who only came to visit it when it was brand new gave it a poor review. If course, it was quiet and there weren't a lot of residents around...it was brand new! The other residents here have been SO friendly and it's rare to ever see anyone sitting alone. Many of the other residents moved here from other senior care facilities in the area after they opened and all that we have talked to have said how much happier they are here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Legacy to anyone looking for independent, assisted, or memory care for their loved one."

"I was pleased with The Courtyard, and I thought that was the solution for my mother. It looked very nice; the people seemed very nice, and everything there was very nice. It really appealed to me; however, the whole decision has kind of been taken out of our hand. She had to go to the emergency room, has been admitted to a nursing home, and will end up in long term care. We discussed the activities -- although I didn’t see a lot on our visit -- but I was impressed with all of it. The dining area looked fine. "
