Holiday Lakewood Estates is a great place to live. It's in a setting where there are a lot of trees around, offering good views. It seems clean and safe. It is located in a quiet area of town, so you can hear no road traffic. Overall, it's a good facility. During the tour, I was shown three studio apartments that I couldn't afford, although there were some specials available which would have been okay temporarily but not in the long term. I liked the way Holiday sets up their whole system, it's nice, and they give you three meals a day. The only downside is that you don't have any laundry in the unit. You have to go to the laundry room and drag your laundry back and forth, but other than that it was great. Brooke conducted the tour and was very thorough, knowledgeable, and nice. The dining area was nice and everything was clean.

My daughter moved to Holiday Lakewood Estates. I like it because it's an independent living facility for her, and everyone there is very cordial, good, and caring. The place is very nice and clean. It's an older facility, but it is well-kept and located in a nice area right across the street from Kaiser. I haven't tried their food yet, but my daughter is really happy with all of it, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It sounds like they have a very healthy menu. She's only been there for two weeks but she likes it well. She gets out with them and they're very good to her.

My mother-in-law is now living at Holiday Lakewood Estates. Everyone is open and friendly. Her room is remodeled, and it's very open and airy, very pretty. I have seen the dining area and it's very clean and very classy. They have a craft room, a workout room, and a movie room. They went on a gambling outing in a bus to Central City. There's a gym and a salon.

I liked the location of Holiday Lakewood Estates. The people were nice. They were willing to work with us financially. Their room was fine. It was comparable to where my uncle is right now, so it'll be an easier move that way, I think. I had two ladies and they were very helpful. I ran into several residents and they were very friendly, too. It's a little bit older building, but it's very clean.

At Holiday Lakewood Estates, food and activities were included. There were rooms on the ground floor that would have been good. I needed something with two bedrooms or a bedroom and a den, but the cost is a little more for that. Otherwise, it looked like a very nice, comfortable place to stay. The staff was good and very conscientious about meeting my needs. I just couldn't do it at this time. They showed me the sample food and the dining room was very well-kept. I liked the fact that they always had fresh fruits available throughout the day.

My spouse will move into Holiday Lakewood Estates. This one fit what we were looking for. I saw the amenities, multiple apartments, and had several apartments to look at, to choose one that fit our budget and our aesthetic. It was close to where I'm working. So when I transitioned there myself in the next few years or sooner, then it's already there. The rooms are beautiful. They've been furnished. It's clean. It smells good, like a normal apartment complex would. It doesn't smell like an old folks home or nursing home. They have a pool table, a piano, and you have your own individual mailboxes, which I really liked for him. Besides having the dining room that looks like a cafeteria setting, like somewhere in the South cafeteria style, they have a workout room, they have elevators, and they have a parking garage for your vehicle. My husband still drives, so that was a big thing for him. They have an outside area, because we have one little dog that's under 50 pounds, so that we can take her for a walk. That was a big thing. I haven't seen the menu. I saw the dining area and everyone seemed to be really enjoying it when I was there at lunch. They have several gardens. They have a courtyard where you can sit, and it's shaded, it's mostly mature trees as well. And it's an area that you can walk outside of the complex and not worry about getting run over.

The apartments at Holiday Lakewood Estates were smaller, and the air conditioning was not exactly working very well. It seemed kind of old and tired. Every unit had an air conditioner in the wall, like a hotel. There were laundry facilities, but only one for each floor, which didn't seem enough for me. It wasn't as fresh and vibrant as the other facility I visited. Sarah was very good. She let us tour the whole place, answered our questions, showed us several apartments, and introduced us to residents. She was terrific. Their gym was closed because it flooded, and the swamp coolers on the roof had flooded. The lobby was beautiful. They had sort of roundabouts at the end of each of the halls that looked very nice. One had a pool table, and the other one had tables and chairs.

Lakewood Estates was really nice. It's kind of old, but I liked the people a lot. The only thing I don't like is they don't have kitchens, but the rooms were nice. They seemed to have quite a bit of activities. They have a community van that they use to go to different places around town and do different things, which I thought was really nice. They would take you to the grocery stores or different places. I got the chance to talk to the driver, and he seemed like a really nice guy. I was there on a Saturday morning, and they had donuts and coffee for all of the people in the community. You can come in, visit, sit down, and talk. I thought that was an interesting deal. They had different things set up for different kinds, and we had lunch. They were very, very nice folks. They also had a salon and the lady that runs it had been there for years. She seemed really nice. They have a workout room upstairs, a library, and a little bit of everything. They're in a neighborhood, which is kind of nice. It's real quiet there. It's not like being in a noisy downtown location.

Lakewood Estates wasn't quite as updated as the others, but it was nice, clean and pleasant. The people were pleasant. The rooms looked very clean, open, and a little bit more roomy than others. I liked the location, and I thought the facility was very nice. The dining area was great and looked reasonably large. They had bingo and Bridge and stuff like that. The facility was very clean and maintained very well. It was pretty open when you walk in. It's a nice open area.

Lakewood Estates is a retirement community with assistance. So you can add it on as you need care, as opposed to them telling you what my mother needs right off the bat, and then it'll be $6,000. If there comes a time when she's in a wheelchair and can't go to the shower, we can add that on as we go. We chose this place because it had retirement with assistance and they feed her 3 meals a day; it's also 1 mile from my brother and me. The staff is amazing and the facilities are awesome. They have a beautiful cafeteria, my mom's moving in and they're letting her choose the carpet, paint, and all that. You can do whatever you want to your room or your space. It's very clean. They are fabulous, the place is beautiful. We're super impressed and it's not very expensive. We ate there and the food is good. It was better than average but it's not like I would say that it's the best food ever. They do it according to diet; they don't use much salt and stuff since most elderly people can't have it anyway.

Lakewood Estates is a smaller property, which a lot of people like. The staff was excellent. They were very helpful. It has been remodeled in recent years, so it's quite modern and up-to-date. It's very well maintained, too. They have a salon, a gym, a movie room, and a chapel for services.

My tour at Lakewood Estates was fine. The staff did not have a two-bedroom that she could show us because of COVID. We just had a nice discussion and she explained everything. It looked nice, but we didn't get to go into any rooms because they were full, and they didn't have any empty ones under construction to show us. I noticed from the entryway that their halls were wider, so it made it feel more open, and it looked pretty good. The people were friendly and very nice. We were walk-ins, and we didn't have an appointment, but they were really nice and they took time to explain everything to us. They have three meals a day, and they have entertainment and things going on to keep people active. The dining rooms weren't open, so they set the food down outside people's doors.

I have chosen Lakewood Estates. It was very nice. I felt very comfortable in the place. The staff was very, very friendly. They seemed knowledgeable. The room is a one-bedroom apartment. It's very nice and roomy. They have a kitchenette, but this particular room doesn't have a balcony. They have different styles of room layouts. They have a dining room, they have a chef, they have a small workout room, they have exercise classes, and they have a little area down their lobby where there's a fireplace and a piano. They have recitals like that.

We didn't like the older neighborhood where Lakewood Estates was situated. The rooms were small, but they had an array of things to do. It just felt a little oppressive when we went into the building, but that could've been because of the age of the building. It had a strange odor to it. The staff seemed friendly enough.

My brother has been living in the Lakewood Estates for several years now. We like the place. We're looking for another community because the price has become too high. They don’t really do anything; he just lives there. They cook and clean for him, provide the facilities, have stuff for him to do, and take him places. They don’t provide any medical assistance or things like that. It is an attractive place that's nice and clean. His car is there, but he drives it minimally. The only thing we've found is that, sometimes the food is not the greatest and run out of food. The food is a big issue to us. They have a menu, but sometimes when they get to him and he goes to order from the menu, they would say, "Oh, sorry. We don't have any of that." Or they serve something to him frozen. The cleaning staff and the rest of the staff are a 5, but we had a problem with the management when he moved. They clean his apartment and bed very nicely weekly. I think they can do a little better when it comes to activities.

Lakewood Estates is a beautiful place. I could walk over it from my house. The apartment shown to me was the best of all of the places I visited because of how it was set up. The apartment was on the main atrium level right around the corner from the dining hall and it was about 550 square feet. They also had one space in a covered parking garage, which I specifically liked. It did not have a balcony, but its backdoor opened up into a wide garden area. They have several units like that on the ground floor. They allowed smoking a little bit away from the building. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. It was a very nice experience. They do an excellent job of keeping up everything, like their atrium area, their outside areas, their maintenance stuff, and with painting. They're always doing something to maintain the property.

My mom was very hesitant to move into independent living but she finally admitted that she was very lonely living at home by herself. The move has been good, she is finally eating three meals a day and is getting involved in a few activities. That's a work in progress. She loves the staff and her apartment that is just the right size for her. Very positive experience.

The only thing that she is disappointed about is there aren't many crafts and she likes to do crafts, but other than that, she doesn't have complaints. The dining area is very nice and very clean. We signed a contract with Lakewood Estates but within 24 hours, she didn't want to move. The staff that took us to the tour was friendly, knowledgeable, and didn't pressure us. We made several visits and met with several folks who were very knowledgeable. It was a clean facility and seemed homey. The one concern that we had was the driveway entrance was really steep and parking was minimal. The grounds were nice. The kitchen was not she was hoping for.

Lakewood Estates was a very lovely place. I would recommend it to anyone. The people were very helpful in what we needed to do in preparations for moving my mother-in-law. They had lots of activities, and they had one resident who was in-charge of the Bingo -- who was from the Northeast where my mother-in-law was -- and she was looking forward to meeting her. They were remodeling at that time, and they hadn’t finished their exercise room, but they were setting it up, and you could see what all they were going to have in there. It was a very nice facility. We toured their dining area, and it was very nice. The new parts that they had finished were very nicely laid out and set up for the residents.

My mom is at Lakewood Estates. We’re very happy with it. The staff is very friendly and knows everybody by name. My mom has not been going down for meals for the last month, but when we were going down in the beginning, the food was very good. They have daily activities. She has a nice room with a small kitchenette. It seems really clean since they come and clean her room once a week. Lakewood Estates is the cheapest around, and everything has been excellent, so we think it’s really good value.

Lakewood Estates was fine, and the property was well maintained. My mom has already signed the lease and is moving in at the end of this month. I had been visited Lakewood Estates before, it’s a really nice facility, and I like the staff as well. It’s very nice layout in the common areas, and the rooms were very spacious. They have managers that live on site. Pricing scale is nice, and they tried to keep the general rent down. The grounds nestled into a nice little wooded ground. Most of the views from windows are looking out over trees and not a lot of buildings and parking.

I visited this independent living facility with my mom. We met with a lovely woman, one of the resident managers, who was upbeat and warm. It was clear that she truly cares about the community and residents. I loved seeing that. They have underground parking which was important to my mother because she is still driving. They have wonderful line up of activities for the residents as most do, but I am only giving this three stars because I felt the apartments were outdated, the exterior was in need of painting and the common areas were not as clean as I want for myself.

Their rooms were beautiful. The ones that were empty, they're fixing up. It was very nice. I would definitely live there if I was more independent. They have exercise class and dancing. Lakewood Estates was very helpful, and we found it to be very nice. It is very nice, but it is just for independent living. We are interested in a continuum of care from independent to nursing care, and we wanted to find a place that offers all the services. It is very fine, and we thought it was excellent. Everything is excellent, so we gave it a high rating. The room is OK, but it did not have a kitchen facility, and we want that. They have excellent food services, but there is only room for a microwave and a coffee maker in the kitchen. It is a lovely place, but we are not ready for anything right now.

My mother likes living there because she enjoys the friends she has made, and it is clean in the common areas. Otherwise, I have been extremely dissatisfied with the management, and the lack of cleaning the staff does in my parents apartment. The initial saleswoman was aggressive; not caring that the facility provided an inappropriate level of care for my ailing parents. She mentioned we could hire in care for my parents, but never offered valuable information regarding the on-site caregivers located in their facility. Because both parents had recently been released from 24-hour nursing care, we had to spend thousands of dollars for assistance when the manager could have told us about the service located right on their premises. Or better yet, respected that they could not provide the care my parents needed and not convince weak and disoriented octogenarians that they would be cared for appropriately. Additionally, not 24 hours following my father's death, the "floating managers" treated my grieving family with unforgivable disrespect, rudeness, and lip service. They inappropriately and unprofessionally used of the title of "Floating Manager" as an excuse for reprehensible behavior. They made a difficult day even more distressful and robbed us of the peace we need to cope during a time when we should have been given grace sincere compassion.

What I really like about Lakewood Estates community is it's really close. I'm in a scooter, in an electric wheelchair. This is close to little shopping. I could go to Walmart, and I could go up the street with little hobby shop. It's beautiful, charming, but it was completely residential. It was pretty comfortable. They were very friendly. I thought the rooms were wonderful. I think it didn't have stove, and they just had a small refrigerator. I kind of wanted a little bit more. I don't cook very much at all, but I do want that option. They had card games and bingo. I thought their clientele were a teeny bit older. They just seemed like they were quieter, very serene, and calm. I like the area. It's really nice.
