"I like everything. It was a gorgeous facility and had everything I would ever want. It was excellent. They had the dining, the housekeeping, and the activities. I was only interested in housekeeping because I'm independent and I can do everything by myself except housekeeping. The staff who gave the tour was very good, too. The dining area was very spacious and clean, and it seemed to have options for things that you wanted to eat. They have a menu that you choose from, so I was very impressed by that. I like the place."

"My mom moved into Parkside Village Retirement Resort. It's the best one I found. I liked the customer service. I liked the actual amenities. I liked that it was fairly new -- only two years old. It was very clean, luxurious, and kind of a resort style. It has very good food, and very nice, big rooms. They have a full slate of activities. It's expensive, but it's worth it."

"They were very very helpful. We liked the facility. Mom refused to go though so we had to put her somewhere in the state she lives."

"V-Esprit was a great community. They showed me the one- and two-bedroom apartmetns, and cottage homes, and all of them were nice and comparable to other places. They had a ton of stuff, transportation, and a little golf cart so they can move you around on the grounds if they need to. They also had an activities center in the building, a swimming pool, library, and a movie theater. It goes on and on like a little city. The staff member, Peter, and the receptionist were great. On the receptionist's desk, they had a list of people who were visiting that day. The first thing I saw was "Hello Marietta" on a big sign, which was kind of cute. They also had a tenant who just moved in greeting people as you came in and telling you about her experience there. That was different from the other places. They had a cafeteria or restaurant on site."

"The location is good, and the facilities and activities are as well. St. Andrew’s Village has everything my mom needs. She can go from independent to assisted to full time nursing care. The food is very good as well as the surroundings. "

"I have chosen them for my husband. I like that it's more of a home-type setup. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They made me feel at ease. Activities were going on and it was a more free-moving situation. We saw one-bedroom apartments and they were good. They provided privacy to the individuals, which gives them a level of dignity. We went to the dining room and then there was a TV room and we got to see the outside area. There's a deck with a grill and table and chairs and then there's a garden area and a very large backyard. I was quite impressed with that. I liked it. The facility was quite clean. We saw the memory care and I liked that it was very secure. You couldn't go in and out, and the doors were locked down. Everything worked out as far as my needs, my husband's needs, and location."

"Brookdale Parkplace was good. It had more of a hotel feeling. It was a very tall building, but it was nice. It seemed a bit old, though. The person who helped us did a very good job. They explained everything to us quite well. They answered all our questions. We saw a variety of different units. The dining area seemed good. It seemed like there were mostly women, and it didn't seem like there were very many men. However, they had a swimming pool there. They had a library, an art room, and a movie room. They had all those things."

"Both of my parents reside in Memory Care at Legacy Village. I moved them there from a facility in Castle Rock that we were not at all happy with. I can honestly say that Legacy Village has been wonderful. My parents love the “Personal Touch” philosophy: caregivers make a point of touching the residents via holding hands with them, rubbing their back, placing a hand on their shoulder or giving a hug. They constantly tell me how much they love living there. Best of all, I am back to being a daughter again, not a part-time caregiver. I am able to travel and enjoy retirement because my parents are in Legacy Village. The facility is modern and very clean. My parents are happy with the food. The caregivers are wonderful and very loving. A nurse is on site to address healthcare questions in a timely fashion and we use the visiting nurse practioner service so we no longer are taking them to the doctor frequently. To sum it up, Legacy Village has been a godsend for our family. To know that Mom and Dad are being watched closely and taken care of in such a loving manner is priceless!"

"Brookdale Meridian Lakewood is the one that I liked the best because it just seemed like one that my father would align with a little bit better. They also had walking paths outside. There was a catch and release fishpond and stuff. There were lots of different social opportunities, too. I also liked the Brookdale at Home Service option, so that my father could be independent living. He could then have some services added on as he needs more care. The staff who gave me the tour seemed well-informed and well connected, but their follow-up has been a little bit poor. She is supposed to email me things and hasn't. I've called several times and haven't heard back, so that's not been the best. In terms of activities, it seems like a busy place. I saw the setup for all the activities, but I didn't necessarily see any activities in motion."

"Everything was fine. However, my ex-husband has Alzheimer's and that place is for seniors who are active. Also, for my ex-husband, that big of a place is going be a little too much. Nevertheless, the place was enjoyable. I did like the way how the place looked for the people. It was a nice place. It seemed like the people there were very happy there. The rooms were fine; however, you have to supply the bed, the linens, their towels, etc. "

"Balfour Riverfront Park offers memory care, assisted, and independent living. I'm in their independent living section. The number one thing that I like here is the community. We're from all over the country, mostly because our children or some relatives live out here in Denver. Denver is beautiful and has beautiful weather. I like the staff because they're very caring. I even wonder if Human Resources, before they hire somebody, asks if they love their grandma because they are very patient. The staff like each other, we like them, and they like us. It has nothing to do with the actual physical building and what it offers. It's really the community. There are so many activities here. I was just doing water aerobics this morning. The food is good, and they're always open to suggestions. They accept recipes that people offer and work with them. The security is good, too. Several times a week, they have transportation out somewhere, like to a museum, shopping, and all kinds of places. If you wanna go specifically for a doctor's appointment, they'll take you. There are several drivers, and they would take you within a 15-mile radius. This place is very posh and very classy. There are even fresh flowers on the dining tables. I get what I pay for, and I pay a lot. They discourage seniors from driving, so to park in the garage here, it's $400 a month. However, they have a driving service within 15 miles, and we're right downtown and just three blocks from Union Station. For two years before I moved here, I lived downtown and learned how to ride public transportation everywhere, so I am happy here."

"We chose Gardens Care Senior Living - Homestead for my mom. It is very homey, very comfortable, and cozy. The staff is extremely friendly, as well as the residents. Her room is very bright and cheerful, and she has a beautiful view of the trees outside. The dining area is very nice and very clean. They do a lot of crafts, tours on Saturdays, trick or treat, and they will have entertainment this afternoon."
