"I was treated very nice at Quincy Place. The guy who took me around was very nice and informative. It just seemed small, but what I liked about it were the meals and meal choices. They try to accommodate taste as well as diet plans. The lunch room was open and airy, with a lot of light, which I liked. They had an exercise room and buses to take you to shopping, doctor's appointments, on excursions, or out to eat."

"I liked Brookdale Meridian Englewood pretty well. We had a big apartment there. It was about 1100 square feet. We stayed in the independent living, and their food was pretty good."

"I visited Parkplace 2 years ago and then I was there last February. The tour was wonderful. The staff was professional, friendly, and kind. They answered all my questions. It’s a very defined, upscale, top notch, and very elegant facility. It’s very old. They’re starting to remodel and repaint many of the rooms. They’re working on brightening them up because they’re darker, smaller, and older rooms. They invited me for dinner, and I stayed. A very pretty and large dining room with a beautiful ceiling. They have a nice, varied menu. You can order a la carte or from different parts of the menu. You could pick and choose what you want. The reason I am thinking of going there is because they have an indoor, heated pool and water arthritis classes 6 days a week. They have a nice workout room with big windows. They have a nice, little library and you feel like you’re in a very elegant New York hotel when you walk into the lobby. "

"I visited Vi at Highlands Ranch, and I've been impressed. They are at the upper end cost-wise, but I like the facility, and I like the completeness of care. One thing I was impressed with is that the monthly amount could vary from year to year, but it does not change when you go from independent living to, let's say, assisted living. The place looked like it would fit what I wanted, and the staff were very competent."

"I toured Lakewood Reserve. It's a standard-type facility. They have security there and secured rooms. They have a good place for them to eat and they have some different types of activities to keep people busy. They have 24/7 nursing care. Everything I saw indicated that it was very clean. As far as the atmosphere, it seemed like it was a good place. There were people in the activity room and in some other areas, and everybody seemed satisfied with what they were doing. Kim showed me around. She's knowledgeable about it and understands what people need and when they're looking for things. Everything she was telling me was upfront and she showed me good things."

"I have chosen them for my husband. I like that it's more of a home-type setup. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They made me feel at ease. Activities were going on and it was a more free-moving situation. We saw one-bedroom apartments and they were good. They provided privacy to the individuals, which gives them a level of dignity. We went to the dining room and then there was a TV room and we got to see the outside area. There's a deck with a grill and table and chairs and then there's a garden area and a very large backyard. I was quite impressed with that. I liked it. The facility was quite clean. We saw the memory care and I liked that it was very secure. You couldn't go in and out, and the doors were locked down. Everything worked out as far as my needs, my husband's needs, and location."

"Gardens Care Senior Living - Homestead was a nice facility, and I was particularly interested in their cottages, which looked inviting. Maintenance and upkeep were adequate. The staff was welcoming and nice and had a lot of detailed information for me. The room was nice and adequate. They had amenities. They offered a lot of services included with the rent like haircuts and podiatry and things like that."

"My wife was at Legacy Village of Castle Pines. She was there for two weeks while I was in the hospital. It was my only contact with them, and the personnel there were outstanding. The layout was very nice. My impression of it was that the rooms were nicely furnished, clean, and very well cared for. My contact with the staff was just outstanding. Everyone was friendly. The residents that I ran into were very friendly and very complimentary of that facility. I only had food in the memory care, and it was OK. It was not great, but it was OK. There was an exercise area. They were doing bingo when I walked by. The director there was wonderful."

"When you walked into San Marino Retirement, it was clean, warm, and inviting. The people were friendly. The residents seemed very happy, and they actually invited us to some of their events, (even though my mom is not a resident there). We got to see how the community really was firsthand. They don't have a high turnover rate of staff. We met the chef when we were at a Mother's day brunch, and she'd been there for 15 years. The receptionist had been there for 10 years, too. The staff evidently was happy working there because they've been there that long. I've been dealing with this one woman. I email back and forth a lot because she invites us to events. The receptionist helped us do a tour of one of the two-bedroom, one bath units, so my brother could see the facility as well. The food was amazing. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and they were all just super helpful."

"Arbor View Senior Living was very aesthetically pleasing. During my visit at their assisted living, I looked at a number of different rooms, but I was looking primarily for a one-bedroom for my parents. I thought that the rooms seemed nice. The staff was very helpful. I had lunch there and the food was quite good. For activities, they were offering crafts and exercise classes. The residents are also able to sign up and go on field trips."
