She really enjoys their activities department, which has a number of things for residence to do from bingo to church service, this is a wonderful place"

"My husband is at The Springs at St. Andrews Village. He's in their long-term care/skilled nursing area. He needs a lot of help to do everything, and it was just not one thing. The layout of the place was pretty decent. My husband says the food is OK. It's a skilled nursing facility and you got people running around all day long. It's here, there, and everywhere. Some people are trying to get well to go back to their apartment that's next door. It's in and out, but I had to put my husband in a private room because he doesn't mix well with others. I was concerned because of COVID, and he had not had his booster yet. They had someone that had tested positive so they are doing screenings there, which I'm OK with, but I wanted him in a private room. When you have a shared room, which I witnessed myself, which I did not particularly care for, you've got two people in a room and then you got families coming in to visit with different people in the same room, and that just frightened me. I put him in a private room, so he's not mixing with everybody else because he's not going to move anyway, because he can't. He's very, very weak. He's in the bed all day long and everything is done for him in the bed. As far as the way the place looked, it could use an upgrade, but it's passable. I don't care much for the carpet that's in there. When you are in a skilled nursing facility, they're there to try to help your loved one and that's what they focus on. I have not looked at their rooms over in the other part. I had my ex-boss' mother when St. Andrew's Village first opened. She moved her mom from her home into one of the places over there, and she gave it rave reviews, but I have not been in the area for the apartments. I think they have one and two bedrooms over there. Skilled nursing is a separate building altogether. Location-wise, it was perfect for me. It was easier for me to keep him there. They're understaffed like every place you go. You got sometimes one nurse work in two wings. I've had problems with them administering my husband's meds. Sometimes they have a problem with getting the meds to him on time, but they do a decent job. I have to rely on them to do it for him because I can't do it. I haven't seen anyone complain about the food. I don't know if they cook for both sides or if that's just one side that cooks just for the nursing home or whatever. I have to take into consideration the fact that they're short-staffed like everyplace else when it comes to that type of unit. The structure is OK. It's a place where people go to recuperate. One of the members of my church husband was at The Springs and she likes it. Comparing their pricing for the skilled nursing area to some of the other facilities, it's about average."

"My dad was in the rehab part of cherry Creek nursing home. We couldn't of asked for a better place for him, the staff really cared , it was clean, the food was good. My sisters and I were very happy and we were there every day for 1 1/2 weeks. Thank you very much "

"My parents are very happy living at Brookdale Mountain View. The place is clean and neat, the staff has been very supportive, and the food is very good. The service in the dining room could be a little bit better, but you can't have everything. There are many activities for the residents to take part in. Every single day, there are 6 or 10 activities. They have a bus that my mom has already taken to get to the grocery stores. Whatever they want, it's there for them. "

"I had been in Sable Care Center several times for rehab, whenever I came from the hospital. It was a very nice and clean place. The food was very good and the nursing staff was very nice. "

"The Summit was nice. It was an older facility that has been remodeled and bought over in the last three years. It was immaculate, but for some reasons my mother did not like this facility. They were very nice. The administrator was extremely nice because we were over there a couple of times. They had decorated for Halloween, and they had a facility animal -- a dog -- and then a couple of people had small dogs, so they allowed you to have your pets. It had a lot of advantages. Everything there was immaculate. They had new bathroom facilities that had been remodeled and included like a bathtub that you step into and close the door like you see on TV. They have been working hard at remodeling, painting, and things like that. It is located among an older housing area, but it is a clean area, and they are remodeling. The biggest downside from the outside would be parking. "

"My husband was a resident at Center at Lowry. This place was very disappointing for me. It was very clean, very nice. People were friendly, but I did not feel that he really was treated as well as he could have been. I had been there as long as five hours one time and not a soul came into his room, and he's bedridden. They lost all of his clothes, a whole week's supply of clothing. I did have some of his food, and the food was good. I can say that much for them. Edible, I should say for that place like that. I had no problems with the nursing staff other than I think that they were just overworked. There were just too many people for them to take care of, to do it properly."

"If you’ve ever had to make the decision to place a loved one in a nursing facility, you know how devastating that is. You feel like you should be able to take care of your parents - after all, they took care of you. And when that's not possible, it's hard on everyone. About three years ago, our mom was told she couldn’t live on her own any more. For an incredibly independent person, you can imagine how she felt. We started our search for the place where she could be happy, and a friend recommended Shalom Park. We toured (and we toured other facilities as well), and from the first greeting from the receptionist to the staff on the floor, we wre impressed. I could talk about the rooms (they call them "shared", but they are large offset spaces and easily made private), the food (yes, it's institutional, and not to everyone’s liking, but there's a large variety each day and always the "any time" menu) and the environment (it's clean and well-tended). There are tons of activities for all kinds of interests (Bingo, knitting, reading, cards, singing ... too many to name), and mom participates in the ones that interest her. Music programs, visiting animals, crafts projects with school groups … it’s not just the people there, it’s the community that surrounds it. But the thing that is most important to us, since we can’t be there 24/7, is just how deeply the staff cares, and how seriously they take the commandment to honor thy father and thy mother. Mom isn't just cared FOR, she's cared ABOUT. And that is the most wonderful thing of all. "

"My mom went here for rehab after a car accident. She is 90. The staff bent over backwards to get her bed, chair and room in general fixed up for her. Everyone was kind and helpful especially the admissions director Anita. Unfortunately she did not stay as she expected a fancier place. It is not, but a lot more open and accomodating than where she ended up. It looked to be well staffed and someone actually came when you hit the help button."

"We loved Monoco! My father went there for his rehab stay from a stroke and received excellent care. The staff were very knowledgable and friendly. Our family was so happy with the care they provided. I love how welcoming they made my dad feel. "

"The lobby is a simple, yet tasteful thing. I met several staff members through our tour of the facility and grounds. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I was surprised to see the residents privately telling me that their community was great. The garden out back was a really nice atmosphere. We're excited to have grandma nearby, without the worry of us having to be on call to take care of her. That has been very time consuming and stressful. I understand there are visiting hours so that I can go see her after class or before work on the weekends. We all look forward to her new living experience. I got to see the living quarters that she will be occupying for the rest of her life. The room is nice and has a peaceful view. The area is quiet and serene. There is a bike trail right behind the center so on nice days she can go for a walk. With her living close to us, we can all still visit often and look forward to it. "

"My mother moved into Colorado State Veterans Home, and so far she's getting really good care. They could improve on the pricing for self-pay; it's rather high. The nurses are very pleasant and responsive to patients' needs. We had a care meeting that was very informative. The only thing right now is the financial part, which I'm not happy with. I'm hoping to get that resolved. They have lots of activities, and daily things for the residents. They've been really trying to get my mom to participate. My mom complains about the food. She doesn't have any teeth so she's not happy with the food, but I have seen their menu, and they have several choices. My mother chooses not to go to the dining area, and she has her food in her room. Their cost is $350 a day. The cleanliness is awesome. I've been to a lot of other communities where there's a smell, and there wasn't anything like that there."

"We visited Hilltop Park Post Acute for my brother's long-term care and rehabilitation. What I like least about it is that it's old. They have started to remodel the facility, though, so I like that. The staff who assisted us during the tour was great. The facility was clean, but it was an old building. The atmosphere is also depressing like a nursing home. The rooms are a nice size, though."
