"I like Sunrise at FlatIrons very much, but they weren't equipped to handle Alzheimer's patients when they were a little further along in their disease, so we were asked to leave. The rooms were excellent, the food was wonderful, and the activities were very good too. They encourage the residents to participate. The staff was very good and very friendly. There were nametags that were easy to read, so it was easy to get acquainted. It just felt very homey there. My husband has been there for six months. "

"Gardens Care Senior Living-Homestead was a very nice facility. What I liked about it was that it was small. It seemed like a clean facility. Everything that we saw looked very good, in good shape and clean. The guy that gave us the tour was very nice. He answered all of our questions. We were pleased with the facility and the tour. I think they have studio and one-bedroom apartments. They quoted us a price that would include the room and three meals a day. They have one-bedroom cottages and two-bedroom cottages. They showed us one of the two-bedroom cottages, and those were very nice."

"My wife moved into MorningStar. They are excellent. They are very professional and very thorough. It's modern and the memory care, of course, is isolated. It is very new, very clean, and very well-maintained. It's only a couple of years old. It is expensive, but the value is probably equal to the money."

"Meridian Westland was very nice. They had a lot of amenities. I would give them a very positive rating for the person who showed us the amenities and everything that they have. She did a wonderful job. The dining area was very nice. It looked like a nice place to live. They provided transportation, entertainment, all kinds of physical activities, movies, and everything. "

"My sister is at The Lodge at Balfour Senior Living. I spent a week over there. It's extremely nice. It has a large fireplace. It's really top quality. Her room is more than what she needs because she can't cook. It has granite countertops in the kitchen, marble tops in the bathroom, a bedroom with a walk-in closet, a balcony out front, laminate flooring in the kitchen, tile in the bathroom, and carpeting in the living room and bedroom. Her room is beautiful, but it's very bland. The dining room has beautiful drapes and they have a chef also. There are at least three resident buildings, and they are all nice. She's been there close to a month now. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the facility. It's beautiful and well taken care of, and the people are all really nice. The food is excellent. They have real fresh fruit with the breakfast buffet with real bacon and ham. They have real food there and it isn't like macaronic and cheese or spaghetti. They have a full meal for lunch and dinner. They have a pool and a beauty shop, and all the amenities that you would expect in a nice retirement place. They have topnotch activities and they have a monthly calendar that each resident receives. They have outings, two shopping days, and two days for doctors' appointments. There's a large auditorium for movies in one of the buildings. There's a lot going on and a lot of music stuff."

"Brookdale Parkplace is much bigger, and it's high rise. Not only do they have assisted living and memory care, but they also have independent living units so we liked that about it also because not everybody really looks old. They have a nice pool and a hot tub, a workout room, and even though it's in a city, they had some nice grounds where you can walk around, and they have a really nice enclosed patio area in the memory care where you could walk, and they have nice outdoor space for assisted and independent living people. It's also within walking distance to a breakfast place where you could eat. The only thing we didn't like about it was that the rooms were not that nice. They were nice enough, but they were a little seedier-looking than other places we visited; however, they were spacious and roomy. Another thing we didn't like was it was very big, and we thought my dad would get very confused there and there was a lot going on, especially on the ground floor main level where there's a big reception area. I felt like my dad could walk out, and nobody would know he was gone. "

"I liked the Lakewood Reserve. It was very nice. The only reason that I didn't choose them is because they are farther away from me. There was a lot of residents that were out visiting, playing cards, sitting in the cafeteria, and having a snack with family members. We talked to a couple of family members and the residents and they were all very happy. I really, really liked it. The staff during the tour was very, very good, very knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. They offered a gym, a salon, a private dining room, and a courtyard. It's in a neighborhood and the view is kind of important for my mom. She likes to look outside, and there wasn't much of a view, but it's a very nice facility. I would definitely recommend them."

"We were searching for a facility and we picked Meridian Lakewood. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was excellent. The accommodations are very, very nice. It's not cheap but my children insist that if I'm saving my money for my old age, this is it. I'm very happy with them. "

"We're at Meridian Boulder. It is very pleasant and very aesthetic. When we moved in, the room was freshly painted and freshly shampooed. The staff is very friendly. You can talk to any of them at any time if they're in the building. They're very accommodating. You can also hire extra help as you need it or you can let it go if you don't need it. For instance, I can get people to do the laundry or they can fold the clothes, walk the dog, help you with the shower, and so on. They have one or two exercise classes every day except Sunday. They have special program on Sunday. They have current events, discussion groups, and movies every night except when they bingo. The backyard has a big patio and a pond with fish and flowers. They have ducks, geese, and birds come in. They have little gardens you can get and grow your own stuff. "
