"My father has had Alzheimer's for ten years and until recently lived at home with my mom. In the spring it became apparent that she was no longer able to keep him at home. Our family was sad and nervous about having him move into a residential facility. In June, he moved into Juniper Village which has turned out to be a wonderful experience for all of us. Last winter, my dad stayed at Juniper for a week of respite care and we knew then that when the time came, we would move him there. It is such a loving, comfortable and fun place! We know he is in great hands with the caring and communicative staff. I so appreciate how well they have gotten to know my dad and all of the support we received from Anna in admissions. "

"A long-time friend of mine has moved to Northglenn Heights Assisted Living & Memory Care. He is in their assisted living. The place is nice and clean. It's an older place, but they have their stuff together. I've watched the staff interact with the guests, including the kitchen staff and some of the younger ones, and everybody is very caring. From what I've seen, they know the residents very well and I like that. They have a lot to offer. For activities, they have puzzles throughout the place, and some rooms for games and other activities. When I went in the other day, there were about seven of the residents in one of the rooms playing Monopoly. It seems like it's something that they do regularly. They have a barber shop and even a convenience store run by the residents. They have quite a bit of stuff that they can do, too. They have a happy hour once a week where the guests, with doctors' approval, can have at least two alcoholic beverages. They have live entertainment in that, too. The dining area is large. It's where we started when we took my friend over to kind of acclimate him. We had him go and have lunch over there, and the food was very good. I was very surprised. It was very tasty and he enjoyed it. One of the residents also told us that the food is great there."

"We went with Gardens Care Senior Living - Camenisch Park for my mother-in-law. They truly care. It's been nice. My mother-in-law is in a private room. They've been very patient with her. They've been very caring. They feed her excellently. The food there is wonderful. They keep an eye on her. They have a lot going on. Whether she chooses to go into them or not is another subject, but they have a lot of activities and a lot of things to keep them busy. They're not just sitting there idle. They make sure that they're nourished, too. Every two hours they have something to either eat or drink, so they're making sure they don't get dehydrated. It feels like they care about my mother-in-law. They care about her well-being, about her health, about everything. Even if you ask them the silliest of questions, they don't mind. You don't feel like you're bothering them. I don't have anything negative to say about it. They have a seating area with a TV, and they have like a little dining area. It's a small community. They only have 16 total residents there. They also have an outdoors, but we haven't used that because of the cold snap. It's clean for the most part, but it's an old building. The person who showed the community was wonderful. He was kind and patient. It feels like he went over and above, and he tried hard to find us what we needed. The staff has just been so over-the-top wonderful."

"My dad is living in Balfour Cherrywood Village, and our overall impression of the place is good. The staff is great and we love them. They seem to have plenty of activities, and they do some walking exercises with him. Overall, it's a good community."

"My father moved into Brookdale Arvada. He has a nice room with new carpets and fresh paint. The food is pretty good and he seems to be eating better. He has gone to Bingo, church services, and so on. There was only one time when the staff took a long time to respond after we called, but the rest of the time they've been really good."

"San Marino Retirement had a very nice environment and it's in the area where my father lived in, so it was familiar. It was an older place, but priced well with good services and good food. They have all kinds of things. Whatever you might want, you can get it there. He's in the independent facility with services. He has meals, housekeeping, there's a shuttle, and linen services. He doesn't need the assisted living yet, but it is available."

"My mom was a resident in the memory care side of Rocky Mountain Assisted Living in Thornton for about 1 1/2 years. I can't say enough positive things about this place and the people that work there. We looked at 6 or 7 other places before settling on Rocky Mountain. Over the last 1 1/2 years, I continually think that we absolutely picked the best facility for mom. The smaller house size makes it feel much more like a home which feels so much better than a large, impersonal, "Institution". Residents have their own rooms that are very nicely sized. The smaller size reduces the risk of exposure to COVID for the residents. The smaller size allows the staff to get to know the residents personally and tailor their care as needed. We have gotten to know most of the people who work there and they know us and are very easy to work with and will accomodate family needs to every extent possible. It is a very nice facility with a nice back patio to allow residents to relax outside (and family, before COVID). Meals are made fresh daily by the staff. The staff is always caring and helplul. There are activities for the residents scheduled daily. Just want to repeat it again: I have been very happy having my mom at Rocky Mountain Assisted Living. "

"I moved into Arbor View Senior Living two months ago, and I'm quite happy. I like the general atmosphere of the place. The people are friendly and the staff. It just feels very homelike. I look out my window and my patio door, and it's like a park. I have huge, huge blue spruce trees. I have a 3-foot square little garden outside my door, and it turns out to be a miniature allium (which I've watched all spring), and I can see a little patch of mountain through the window. The grounds are lovely. The food is good. They are very concerned. It was Memorial Day weekend and my niece came up from Texas. She was helping me get pictures up and that sort of thing and she brought in lunch. I hadn't been out for a couple of days, and the concierge called me and said, "Are you OK?" I said, "Yeah, I'm fine." She said, "I haven't seen you. I just wanted to check and make sure you're OK." I feel like there's a concern for me individually, as well as just meeting my needs. It's a good place to be. They're remodeling the hallways, so that's been a little primitive at this point. They have gotten the halls painted and are progressing. It's a little bit rough from that point of view, but the activities are fun. There's a couple of ladies that I have lunch with frequently. We talk about authors we've read and in particular books that we've enjoyed. There's not all that many people I can do that with, so that gives me a feeling of comfort. I'm doing some exercise classes. When I came in here, I was so weak that getting to the dining room was a struggle. Now, I'm doing three exercise classes a week and just feeling a lot better. It's just exactly what I wanted. It's in Arvada. I can get to my church, and I have friends in the community. I lived in Arvada for 50 years. When I moved in here, my diabetes went nuts; I'm on a very limited diet. There are 25 to 30 residents in the dining room, so there's a lot of happy chatter. One day I decided to have a strawberry spinach salad with chicken was breaded and fried, and I said, "Oh, I can't have that." They said, "We can just fry you a chicken breast." They did that and sliced it. It was just lovely. They accommodate for my needs, as well as my taste. They have lots of choices, particularly for a fairly small facility. They're right on it as far as choices and so forth. We have special meals coming up on holidays, and they do a rather nice thing. The 4th of July was on the Friday before, and that made it possible for us to spend the 4th of July itself with family. All of our holiday meals have been quite elegant and lovely. We had some special food. We had ribs for the 4th of July, then we have the holiday free for visiting with family. They're remodeling the public areas, so it's a bit rough. One whole week, we had paint smell all up and down the hall. It's going to be very nice. The price is half of what I was paying at the other place."

"I went to Jaxpointe Assisted Living Saulsbury Court Memory Care Homes. It's wonderful. It's absolutely beautiful. It's well taken care of, but it is just too expensive. And they're not willing to work with us as far as money wise. I was able to see individual private rooms and double rooms. The whole place was wonderful."
