"My friend has already settled in Villas at the Atrium. It is smaller than the other facility we visited. However, they have many amenities from the computer room to the dining room. They also have a workout area. They were all very clean and nice. It is just a warm and welcoming place. The people in the office are wonderful. It is also very clean and well-kept. They did go through flood when the superflood came. In fact some of the lower rooms were flooded and they just put the folks in the other rooms that they had available. Even through all that, it was just a very nice place. "

"Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge could have been a place for my dad, but they don't have an opening. The facilities were clean, active, and accessible. The rooms were good. The lady who accommodated the tour was very energetic and understanding. They all sat us down in the beginning and gave a talk, and we asked questions. One thing about Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge is they have a very low turnover. Their staff tends to stay there for years. I thought it was going to be a lot more expensive than it was, so I was surprised to see that they were within range of everyone else."

"My mom will be moving into Arbor View Senior Living. The main reason is she felt comfortable there. The people were real friendly, and she liked the environment there. It just felt more like home to her. The inside is in the middle of a remodeling, but it looked like it will be okay. We are fine with it. On the outside everything was clean, and we were happy with it. They were great, and we had no problems with the people we dealt with. They are Carrie and Angela. They were friendly, very informative, and gave us a great tour. They have a library, a beauty salon (which is not open right now but will be opened), and they have an exercise room. In the library is a little coffee bar too."

"When you walked into San Marino Retirement, it was clean, warm, and inviting. The people were friendly. The residents seemed very happy, and they actually invited us to some of their events, (even though my mom is not a resident there). We got to see how the community really was firsthand. They don't have a high turnover rate of staff. We met the chef when we were at a Mother's day brunch, and she'd been there for 15 years. The receptionist had been there for 10 years, too. The staff evidently was happy working there because they've been there that long. I've been dealing with this one woman. I email back and forth a lot because she invites us to events. The receptionist helped us do a tour of one of the two-bedroom, one bath units, so my brother could see the facility as well. The food was amazing. The grounds were beautifully landscaped, and they were all just super helpful."

"I toured Balfour at Longmont. It's a beautiful facility. It's a very good tour. I saw staff interacting with the residents. The rooms were very small. The place looked very well-kept, clean, and in good condition. The dining area looked beautiful and inviting. The one thing is they're very expensive, and their deposit is unusually high."

"My dad is doing very well at MorningStar of Arvada Independent Living. It's a great place. It's an amazing community. The level of care and the things they did for my mom in memory care within 24 hours was amazing. They supported my dad throughout the process and made sure that when my mom did pass away, they right away helped him find an independent living suite there so we could just move things from memory care without having to find another whole place. The place is beautiful with lots of things planned for residents to do. Everyone there is very kind and nurturing. When you walk in the place, it feels good and right. I cannot say enough good things about it. The food was delicious, great, and healthy. They have a chef who helps people with whatever specific needs they may have and he will cook specific things. They have lots of choices. The place is like a 5-star hotel so it really is nice. They have Happy Hour, meet and greet, painting classes, movie nights, game nights, take them out on a bus to different places within the community, concerts, and they have choirs coming in. It is expensive, but looking at other places, this place is well worth it because it's brand new."

"I had a positive tour experience at Brookdale Meridian Arvada. It was well managed. The staff who assisted me with the tour was excellent. The one-bedroom was of ample size and bigger than some of the rooms I'd seen in other places. I was shown the dining area, a recreation room, a movie room, and the laundry room."

"Our tour of Atria Longmont was very good. The apartment we saw was very nice, and it was a much newer facility. The staff we met was very nice, very accommodating, and answered our questions. The dining area looked very nice, was clean, and attractive. They had things scheduled for the residents."

"I had a very nice tour at Longmont. I met a nice gentleman there who was the activity director and started a little friendship with them, but the place was too far for me. It’s 67 miles from where I live and from my family. The place was very nice. I didn’t see anybody in wheelchairs and walkers, but there were people in my age group who were active and got around, so that was the main thing. It was a very nice, small 1-bedroom apartment. We saw the food, and I had lunch there; it was very good."

"We chose Gardens Care Senior Living - Homestead for my mom. It is very homey, very comfortable, and cozy. The staff is extremely friendly, as well as the residents. Her room is very bright and cheerful, and she has a beautiful view of the trees outside. The dining area is very nice and very clean. They do a lot of crafts, tours on Saturdays, trick or treat, and they will have entertainment this afternoon."

"I am a resident of Brookdale Meridian Westland. I didn't have a big problem. I didn't have a problem with the food, getting places I needed to, and when I asked people to do things, they would help me. The people are all nice and friendly. On some days, there were things I didn't like, but they did a good job. They have a lot of extra things, like we have a barbecue for every holiday. Nothing happened that wasn't dealt with. The staff is nice. Everybody here is nice. Now and then, they get short-staffed, but that happens because people quit. Some things didn't get done as often as they should, and it didn't cause me any problems. It didn't make me sick or anything, but I thought it could have been better. Part of it is being short-staffed, and part of it is that there are people who didn't do their jobs all the time. They have internal activities every day. There's a bridge game two days a week, and they play dominoes two days a week. Those were nice, and pretty much the same people did them all the time. They went out to eat a few times. I went once. I didn't go again because it took so long. It was a little disorganized. They upgraded all the apartments except mine. I don't know why. It was the only one-bedroom apartment on the first floor, so everybody else got new carpet, new drapes, new lights, and new paint. I moved in, and I didn't have any lights in my room. They gave me this one because I told them I didn't want to pay more than I had to. So, they discounted this one. Then, when I moved in, about a week later, I couldn't turn on any of the lights in this apartment. There were no lights to turn on. So, I asked, "Why don't I have any lights?" They said, We took your lights and gave them to the rooms that were being remodeled. So, you're going to have to provide your own. I was not happy with that. So, I did provide my lights, and I may take them with me. I don't think they treat everybody like that, but that's what I thought."

"My visit at Balfour was very positive. The location appealed to us because it was in the heart of Denver, so that was the reason we chose this community. It has a friendly atmosphere and there are outside activities that we could go to. We like the park because we have a dog and there's a coffee shop around the corner."

"My visit at Inglenook at Brighton was pretty good. The rooms were pretty small but it was a pretty decent place overall. They gave us an opportunity to try the food although we chose not to. The staff who accommodated us was professional, knowledgeable and didn't try to sell us. They gave us all the information that we needed so I would say the marketing staff is pretty good. We did a general walk-through and they showed us one of the apartments."
