"Arbor View Senior Living was very aesthetically pleasing. During my visit at their assisted living, I looked at a number of different rooms, but I was looking primarily for a one-bedroom for my parents. I thought that the rooms seemed nice. The staff was very helpful. I had lunch there and the food was quite good. For activities, they were offering crafts and exercise classes. The residents are also able to sign up and go on field trips."

"I toured Sunrise at FlatIrons. It was beautiful, and well cared for, and people were very caring. Everybody seemed happy. It was wonderful. The apartment was very adequate for independent living. A small environment would be great. The staff was brilliant. She knew what she was talking about. She's very kind and very sweet. I noticed the clay crafts and the painting especially, it was just fantastic. The layout may be a little bit off because it is located on a hill. So, there are a lot of stairs and things like that, and I'm initially trying to get in there."

"We saw Brookdale Meridian Arvada. It's very nice. The unit is wonderful. They have nice facilities. They have transportation, three meals a day, a library, a theater, and nice washing facilities. The apartments are big, and they have storage in them, which I hadn't seen before. The physical condition of the community itself is excellent. The atmosphere there was very friendly."

"I have chosen Balfour Senior Living because it's very beautiful. Their staff is very nice. The food is excellent. It's the most beautiful place you'll ever see. There's a saltwater swimming pool. The staff members have been wonderful. They're outstanding."

"We toured Inglenook at Brighton. The people were great, and the rooms were great. Their courtyard is much bigger, and they've got ponds there. Its size allows the residents to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. We had lunch there on Saturday, and the food was good. I liked that place."

"The Lodge at Balfour Senior Living was excellent. The coordinator was absolutely wonderful. It's clean and it was exactly what we were looking for. There's graduated care, and it's a big campus. The skilled nursing and assisted living are in one building, and across the street are eight or ten duplexes. We liked that the cottages were between 1,200 and 1,300 square feet. There were two cottages to a duplex. They were nice, airy, and big enough, but it's too far away from where we are right now. It's the best facility we looked at."

"We chose Gardens Care Senior Living - Homestead for my mom. It is very homey, very comfortable, and cozy. The staff is extremely friendly, as well as the residents. Her room is very bright and cheerful, and she has a beautiful view of the trees outside. The dining area is very nice and very clean. They do a lot of crafts, tours on Saturdays, trick or treat, and they will have entertainment this afternoon."

"I toured Brookdale Parkplace. They were very helpful and very informative. They showed me all of the amenities of the place. I thought it was a little bit expensive with the service fees. The staff was very nice and cordial. She answered all my questions. The facilities were very clean. The structure was very good. It's very livable. I saw the TV room and the exercise room, and both looked fine. When I stepped in it was warm and cozy. It was not very busy. I didn't see a whole lot of people at the time I was there, but I know that they have happy hour going at 5:00, and that they seem to be pretty happy."

"My apartment is a great value for the price of the rent. There is a full kitchen that I use when I miss a meal and cook for guests. The opportunities for socialization are numerous. Eating meals and attending activities with the wonderful friends I've made here are the best part of my experiences since moving here over a year ago. We are blessed with a wonderful staff that goes beyond what is expected, caring for us with kindness and creating an atmosphere that consistently brings smiles and laughter. "I am a resident of Brookdale Meridian Westland. I didn't have a big problem. I didn't have a problem with the food, getting places I needed to, and when I asked people to do things, they would help me. The people are all nice and friendly. On some days, there were things I didn't like, but they did a good job. They have a lot of extra things, like we have a barbecue for every holiday. Nothing happened that wasn't dealt with. The staff is nice. Everybody here is nice. Now and then, they get short-staffed, but that happens because people quit. Some things didn't get done as often as they should, and it didn't cause me any problems. It didn't make me sick or anything, but I thought it could have been better. Part of it is being short-staffed, and part of it is that there are people who didn't do their jobs all the time. They have internal activities every day. There's a bridge game two days a week, and they play dominoes two days a week. Those were nice, and pretty much the same people did them all the time. They went out to eat a few times. I went once. I didn't go again because it took so long. It was a little disorganized. They upgraded all the apartments except mine. I don't know why. It was the only one-bedroom apartment on the first floor, so everybody else got new carpet, new drapes, new lights, and new paint. I moved in, and I didn't have any lights in my room. They gave me this one because I told them I didn't want to pay more than I had to. So, they discounted this one. Then, when I moved in, about a week later, I couldn't turn on any of the lights in this apartment. There were no lights to turn on. So, I asked, "Why don't I have any lights?" They said, We took your lights and gave them to the rooms that were being remodeled. So, you're going to have to provide your own. I was not happy with that. So, I did provide my lights, and I may take them with me. I don't think they treat everybody like that, but that's what I thought."

"We have a friend who lives in MorningStar Senior Living of Arvada. We visited her, and she took us around. It was really lovely. I would say that would be my favorite. They have an indoor pool, which is a nice feature. They really have a lot of spaces where you can do different kinds of activities and or have small parties of your own. Outside of your apartment, there are a lot of spaces where people can gather. Our friend was very happy there. They have a lovely terrace looking over the mountains. They have integrated assisted and independent living. Basically, assisted living apartments are closer to the elevator, so people don't have to go so far. The independent are farther away from the elevators, so people would have to walk farther. They have to be more mobile. That way of organizing is nice because it isn't that stark, like it's a different building, they have integrated activities for assisted and independent living, but I think they have separate dining halls for the two. Our friend really praised the food. They have a Jacuzzi as well. It was really nice because in the winter time if you go swimming, you don't have to go outside with wet hair. It's a really nice feature there, and it is probably why they're quite expensive. They don't really have a courtyard on the ground floor, but they have this nice space upstairs where they have planted plants outside on the roof. There is a space like that outside. Ground floor was mostly parking, and they have some garages. They had a full kitchen, and they had in-apartment laundry."

"I moved in November. I am in independent living. I visited many facilities and this was far and away my first choice. My apartment faces West and I have the most fantastic view of the front range. My balcony overlooks the court yard and I can hear the fountain. The common areas are attractive and cozy. The facility seems to put a great deal of care in the apartments . I feel right at home in my cozy nest. The food is ok. Sometimes it’s excellent and sometimes not so much. But there are many additional choices available to satisfy all tastes. What makes Springbrooke so special is the staff. They are kind, helpful and caring. They show so much patience. I’m happy with my choice"

"Lakewood Reserve was a very nice facility. It was newly remodeled. I felt like it was too far from where I wanted my mom to be. I thought that the person who gave me the tour was great. She was knowledgeable. I liked that every day they would have, like a sample plate for every meal that they would make so that the residents could look at it and go, oh, yeah, I want the egg and the sausage, or I want the egg in the sausage in the toast. And they made like three different plates up. So you had three different variations of what that could look like. I liked the person who was taking the tour, although she was new, she knew people's names. She was like hey, Marcia. We were walking through and she was like oh, hey, Peggy, do you mind if we peek our head into your room? And we were able to look into what a furnished apartment looked like. And the person was affable to allow us to look into her place. They seemed to have a lot of activities. They had, like, this kind of, heightened service to serving people who were in the military and had a military wall. And the person who was in the front who welcomed us, she seemed to know everybody who was going in and out, and it seemed very welcoming and very comfortable. It had recently been renovated so a lot of the spaces were newly painted and newly decorated. And she's been great with follow-up and checking in to see how we were doing. They also looked to see if their facility could accept my mom's medication. And they also were willing to come and do an evaluation on my mom to see whether or not the facility would make sense for her."
