"It was open and airy. It looks well-maintained and well-taken care of, and was a little bit newer. The staff was friendly. Everything looked fine. I like the overall vibe. The people seemed to be enjoying themselves, and they were able to get outside. It has outside areas. The common areas were good with plenty of open space and nice cafeterias."

"I visited San Marino. The staff was very knowledgeable and very nice. I had lunch there, and it was OK. The room had very good closet space. They had placed new carpeting down, and everything had been painted. "

"My mom will be moving into Arbor View Senior Living. The main reason is she felt comfortable there. The people were real friendly, and she liked the environment there. It just felt more like home to her. The inside is in the middle of a remodeling, but it looked like it will be okay. We are fine with it. On the outside everything was clean, and we were happy with it. They were great, and we had no problems with the people we dealt with. They are Carrie and Angela. They were friendly, very informative, and gave us a great tour. They have a library, a beauty salon (which is not open right now but will be opened), and they have an exercise room. In the library is a little coffee bar too."

"My dad is doing very well at MorningStar of Arvada Independent Living. It's a great place. It's an amazing community. The level of care and the things they did for my mom in memory care within 24 hours was amazing. They supported my dad throughout the process and made sure that when my mom did pass away, they right away helped him find an independent living suite there so we could just move things from memory care without having to find another whole place. The place is beautiful with lots of things planned for residents to do. Everyone there is very kind and nurturing. When you walk in the place, it feels good and right. I cannot say enough good things about it. The food was delicious, great, and healthy. They have a chef who helps people with whatever specific needs they may have and he will cook specific things. They have lots of choices. The place is like a 5-star hotel so it really is nice. They have Happy Hour, meet and greet, painting classes, movie nights, game nights, take them out on a bus to different places within the community, concerts, and they have choirs coming in. It is expensive, but looking at other places, this place is well worth it because it's brand new."

"My friend has already settled in Villas at the Atrium. It is smaller than the other facility we visited. However, they have many amenities from the computer room to the dining room. They also have a workout area. They were all very clean and nice. It is just a warm and welcoming place. The people in the office are wonderful. It is also very clean and well-kept. They did go through flood when the superflood came. In fact some of the lower rooms were flooded and they just put the folks in the other rooms that they had available. Even through all that, it was just a very nice place. "

"Gardens Care Senior Living-Homestead was a very nice facility. What I liked about it was that it was small. It seemed like a clean facility. Everything that we saw looked very good, in good shape and clean. The guy that gave us the tour was very nice. He answered all of our questions. We were pleased with the facility and the tour. I think they have studio and one-bedroom apartments. They quoted us a price that would include the room and three meals a day. They have one-bedroom cottages and two-bedroom cottages. They showed us one of the two-bedroom cottages, and those were very nice."

"My visit at Balfour was very positive. The location appealed to us because it was in the heart of Denver, so that was the reason we chose this community. It has a friendly atmosphere and there are outside activities that we could go to. We like the park because we have a dog and there's a coffee shop around the corner."

"My apartment is spacious and everything I need. It's over 600 sq. feet and also has an outside patio that is lovely to enjoy on nice days. I've lived here for nearly two years and it has gotten better every year. Last year we had a major remodeling with new paint and carpets throughout. It made it bright and light and welcoming. There are several activities every day from bus trips to local stores, games, puzzles, trivia, performing artists, and clubs. Nearly all of the people are friendly and welcoming to new residents. I am pleased I chose Courtyard and recommend it to anyone considering a senior independent community."

"I visited Lakewood Estates. It was wonderful. The girl that took us around was very sweet and thorough. She showed us everything and told us all about it. They were very sweet and nice people. Their rooms were beautiful. The ones that were empty, they're fixing up. It was very nice. I would definitely live there if I was more independent. They have exercise class and dancing. The facility was clean, but there was a cigarette smell to the hallways. The rooms smelled great though. I like how clean and pretty it was. "

"This is an extremely large facility with a capacity of over two hundred residents. Though the size can be a little intimidating, the sheer number of amenities easily makes up for it, not to mention all the opportunities the residents have to make new acquaintances. During a visit here, I witnessed one of the residents playing a game of pool with his son. From what I gathered, they used to have a family pool table and the man taught his son to play pool there. A pool table at this facility is just a small way for a resident and his son to stay connected in a world where so much has changed for them. I like it that this facility makes it so easy for residents and their families to live happily. "

"It seemed like Brookdale Parkplace had a great social system. I went to see their assisted living and Nick was great at the tour. He listened to the reason why my friend was going in. They seem to offer what is needed when you have a friend who is having challenges living a normal life. I think they had great amenities like a pool, a gym, a movie room, and dining rooms for your own parties."

"The food was absolutely delicious at Inglenook Brighton. It was wonderful. The people there were more active than any of the other places I've been. They had a lot of activities and trips happening, and buses coming and going all the time. The courtyard was in the center of the building and it was beautiful and inviting. The drawback with that facility was I've never seen such tiny apartments in my life. However, the staff was very involved with their patients and were very attentive."

"Atria was very nice, and they took the time to go around. The staff was good. They react to falls pretty quickly. They have the fire department there, so I know they look after their people. Based on what I saw, I would recommend them. No qualms. "

"My dad has been with Springbrooke Retirement & Assisted Living for about a month now. So far, we are very happy with this facility. We chose it because it is independently owned and quite small. The employees seem to have been there for a long time. "
