"Keystone Place at Legacy Ridge's rooms were nice, roomy, and well laid out. They had three closets, so they had a fair amount of storage space and full kitchens, so they were really accommodating. I was interested in them. They had a swimming pool, gym, meeting rooms, a Happy Hour twice a week, a group called Active Minds that has a speaker come in once a month to speak to them about timely topics, and trips to restaurants, theaters, and symphony. There's also shuttle service, valet service, hair salon, swimming pool, laundry area, and they come and clean your apartment every other week and do your heavy laundry like sheets and towels. They have a meal plan, including a continental breakfast and one other meal per day. I was impressed with their programs, and they post them every day so you could see what's going on there. Their common rooms were very warm and decorated attractively. The staff was very helpful and nice."

"I had a very positive impression with Sunrise, and that’s where my father in-law lived. It was very welcoming, warm, and very clean. The staff was very friendly, and the people who lived there seemed to be content. I tried the food once; it was not great, but it was OK. "

"We toured Northglenn Heights Assisted Living & Memory Care. I wasn't a big fan of what their memory care looked like. We worked with Nellie, who was a sweetheart and very communicative. The rooms in the assisted living portion were nice, and I liked them. Some open up to a balcony that overlooks the courtyard. They didn't have a lot of community areas, but there's a lot of room in their dining area, and they do a lot of activities there, too. The library doesn't have any books, and it has slot machines that didn't work, but they were nice for the price point."

"I liked Crossroads; it was clean, cheery, and closest in price range to anything we might be able to handle. They have Bingo, they do day trips, they have crafts, and they do a lot things to keep the people entertained. I liked the bird atrium that they have, and my mom liked birds. When you pay the price, everything was all inclusive. They have doctors and nurses in place. The staff was informative, they did a very good job, and I liked what they had to offer. "

"I toured Brookdale Arvada. I liked the appearance of the place. It was clean, homey, and comfortable. It looked like it was well arranged. I was only able to speak to one resident there that I happened to see in the lobby and that person was well pleased with living there, and so I liked all of that. The thing maybe I was less pleased about was it seemed like access to the outside was a little bit limited. There was no direct access from each apartment, but there was access from the general areas. I don't know how important that is to most people, but that was one thing I noticed. They had a very comfortable common area. It was a cozy sort of living room arrangement. They had a fireplace there. They also had a very comfortable-looking dining area. They had a couple of places for smaller group settings. One was a kind of theater that looked like most regular theater seats for watching movies. There was an exercise area for group exercises, and that was nice and nicely laid out. The staff who assisted me answered all my questions and she was full of information. "

"I visited the Arbor View Senior Living, and it was great. They showed me a studio and a one-bedroom. We just went to the bedrooms from an outside entrance. We did not go through the facility, just went into the rooms through the patio doors. The staff was very friendly. It appeared to be clean and maintained right. They do arts and crafts mostly. We talked about different meal plans. We went around the back part and I thought I saw a courtyard or a back area."

"My Dad has moved into Gardens Care Senior Living - Majestic View. I liked it because it's a residential home with only 11 residents. There are two caregivers and the caregiver who oversees everything has been there for 16 years. It's a family environment. My dad has a bedroom and a full bath. I love their house manager and primary caretaker, and I like most of the staff. There's one person that's okay. They have meals and snacks, and activities. Everything is included. They have really good food, compared to most of the places. For activities, they do cross and have discussions. They also do devotions and Bible study, and they go for a walk."

"I love Rocky Mountain Assisted Living Thornton. I have no complaints at all. The facility is great, the care is great, and all the people there are wonderful. I would absolutely recommend them. It's small, and there can only be 16 residents. The facility is clean. They have bedrooms, an open kitchen, living room, and dining area. There's a new activities director coming in. Everybody is friendly. I know I'm leaving my aunt in a good place. They take care of her, and it's a family atmosphere. They talk with her. She has issues at night where she gets lonely, and one of the staff members will go sit in the room with her. We love it. She's happy."

"My mother-in-law is at San Marino Retirement. She started there in the assisted living part for a while, and then she got moved to memory care. I have visited my mother-in-law a few times now, and all the staff seem nice. They're very attentive. The facility is clean, and it seems like things are kept up and maintained. The staff members are friendly and helpful. They come in and empty my mother-in-law's little trash cans in her room. Now that my mother-in-law is in memory care, they make her tea whenever she needs it. With regards to food, they have choices of different things. It seems like they can select from what I've seen. Like if they don't like anything, then they can just order something special. My mother-in-law usually gets a cheeseburger or something if she doesn't like what they're serving. And they have common areas where people can come out and visit each other or play games or whatever. They like different games like bingo and stuff."

"Balfour Longmont has a swimming pool. The staff was very nice, plus we also knew somebody who was living there, and that person gave us a private tour. They had a library, an exercise room, and a movie theater. Of the eight we've looked at, Balfour was the most expensive."

"We have a friend who lives in MorningStar Senior Living of Arvada. We visited her, and she took us around. It was really lovely. I would say that would be my favorite. They have an indoor pool, which is a nice feature. They really have a lot of spaces where you can do different kinds of activities and or have small parties of your own. Outside of your apartment, there are a lot of spaces where people can gather. Our friend was very happy there. They have a lovely terrace looking over the mountains. They have integrated assisted and independent living. Basically, assisted living apartments are closer to the elevator, so people don't have to go so far. The independent are farther away from the elevators, so people would have to walk farther. They have to be more mobile. That way of organizing is nice because it isn't that stark, like it's a different building, they have integrated activities for assisted and independent living, but I think they have separate dining halls for the two. Our friend really praised the food. They have a Jacuzzi as well. It was really nice because in the winter time if you go swimming, you don't have to go outside with wet hair. It's a really nice feature there, and it is probably why they're quite expensive. They don't really have a courtyard on the ground floor, but they have this nice space upstairs where they have planted plants outside on the roof. There is a space like that outside. Ground floor was mostly parking, and they have some garages. They had a full kitchen, and they had in-apartment laundry."

"After living in two other facilities, we had a loved one live at this Jaxpointe Arvada location and we were more than thrilled with the decision. We had such a sense of peace knowing that she was well taken care of. Something that we never felt at other facilities was the caring and love that she received at Jaxpointe. We enjoyed getting to know the caregivers and they knew a lot about our mom and they were able to help educate us about what was happening as she advanced more. At the end of her life, we as a family were also greeted with hugs and love. The house is very clean and the food is amazing. While it is a difficult process to see your loved one who has Alzheimer's progress, this is the best place for them to live and be loved."
