My mom is at Pikes Peak Care and Rehabilitation Center. It's huge and it's very nice. Some of the furniture isn't updated, but other than that, the staff and everybody is good. She hasn't been there that long, so I haven't gotten a chance to check out the activities yet. And she is the type of person who doesn't want to participate in anything unless it's PT or OT. I love the way that they do the PT and the OT. The physical therapist is very hands-on and very gung-ho with it. They do a great job. They had my mom doing more stuff than any of the other places that she was at. Their nurses are great. I like the staff there. They're very attentive. When I'm visiting my mom, somebody is always coming in to check on her or help her go to the bathroom or anything like that, whereas at other rehabs, there have been times where we've hit the call button and people don't come for over an hour and a half to two hours. They also take Medicaid. Their rehabilitation, their physical therapy, and their occupational therapy are the best that I've seen.

My husband went to Pikes Peak Care and Rehabilitation Center for a few weeks. Everything was good. The staff was nice and the food was delicious. They did rehab on him. They had a day room where they can watch TV, people come in and sing for the people, and they had a car show one day. His room was clean and roomy for wheelchairs to get in and out. They clean it every day. They had a little fireplace in the lobby and little chairs to sit around it. They had nice windows that look out the mountains. It was a good view.

My father-in-law has been there for rehabilitation for several weeks. He adores the staff. They have been very friendly to him and the rest of the family. They have been nothing short of miraculous in his ability to recover. When he went into the facility, we were sure he would not have long to live. They have restored his health, confidence, and the ability to function well. He is doing so well that he is moving to an assisted living facility. I would highly recommend.

I put my mother in this facility to get her some rehabiliation and all they seemed to care about was the money. They did not even unpack her suitcase after her being there three days. They put a diaper on her and did nothing for her. I got her out of there as soon as I could. They have too many patients and not enough staff. The social worker there was too busy on the phone with a personal call even to fax paperwork for me to transfer her out of that horrible place. I suggest you look long and hard before you send you loved one to that people warehouse.
