"I like the overall feel of the whole facility of Brookdale Skyline because it's a fairly large campus. I like where it's located. It's in a beautiful part of Colorado Springs. I like the size of the apartment. The apartment was a perfect size; I liked it. It had a complete kitchen with a stove, not a kitchenette. I liked that the dining room was not huge; it was a good size. I just like the overall facility. It just felt good. They did a great job on the tour. The little girl who did it was wonderful. She did a great job. When it comes to the building itself, it was very clean."

"I toured Mountain View Independent Living, and the most important thing is that they made it about me. I had looked at other places, other communities, 55 communities, and trailer parks, and sometimes I waited a long time after we made the appointment, but they made me feel like I was important to them. It was so neat right off the bat, and they wanted to know everything. They wanted to fit what I wanted. I looked at the studio. Three other people and a man lived there. He let us go through his house. He was as welcoming as ever. The person who took me around kept saying that when I would bring up anything, she would say, "Well, now it's all about you." They weren't pushy, and they were awesome. She was the best. She was the one who smiled at me the minute I came in the door. They paid attention to me. The food smelled wonderful when I was there. It's like a restaurant. They're very professional and very clean. Folks were eating when we walked by. I loved the building, which was more than I expected, and the upkeep is great."

"We have been to Melody Living to visit. My sister is going to their independent living. Our tour was wonderful. It's a very friendly community. The food is excellent, and the apartments are nice. Their staff was excellent. We had a meal there, and it was great. This place has only been open for about one year."

"We toured The Palisades at Broadmoor Park. They have views because they're right at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain and that area. For independent living, they have kitchens with stoves and ovens. It's only 15 years old, so it's very nice. They have in-apartment washers and dryers, which is awesome. However, it was the most expensive that we had seen. They have good-sized rooms, which are quite large. They have two-hour mealtime windows, which is nice, too. They have windows like 7 to 9, 11 to 1, and 5 to 7. You have some give-and-take on what times you could go and eat. They have a small pool and physical therapy right there, and that is nice. They have a beauty shop and a theater room. It is a good neighborhood. They could walk across the street to a good coffee shop, even though the coffee in the place is pretty good. They have a little lounge area where they have drinks and wine tastings, and stuff like that, so that's nice. They have an emergency response system. They have balconies and kitchens. It's expensive and the farthest away from family in town, but still nice."

"I have chosen to put a wait deposit on Liberty Heights. They only have one floor plan. The only thing that bothers me is their stairs, but I guess the stairs would be good exercise. However, the staff member who assisted me was very helpful and very nice. They have a swimming pool, and I have been doing water aerobics. My daughter only chose places that had swimming pools. The rooms were nice, and the square footage is pretty good."

"I toured MacKenzie Place Colorado Springs. The place is relatively new. It's very clean. The staff seem to be very professional and mindful of the possible requirements people may need. They had a well-laid-out program for how people would be cared for in their facility. So I was very much impressed by it. They've got a miniature golf course, a swimming pool area, and they have a tennis court. It's a mixture of both indoor and outdoor activities. They also have a shuttle bus service that takes people to different areas during the week."

"Our new manager, Bill, is very accomodating and helpful. I hope he stays for a very long time. "

"It has very nice staff, it seems like they go over and above. It doesn't have the feel of a corporate type place in both assisted and independent living. The rooms are very clean, they have the main living quarters and a bedroom, refrigerator, and stove. They have access to washing machines and they're served a meal at lunch that's catered in. My loved one said that the food is really good. And a lot of the times there would be enough that they can put in in their refrigerator and reheat for dinner. They have bingo, cards, they have a bus for outings, they'll also take him to his doctor appointments and shopping. They have a full list of activities on a sheet so that they can review it. They also have a sheet that tells them what kind of food is coming up for the next catered meal. The quality of care here was very good."

"We toured Aberdeen Ridge. They can enjoy the rest of their life in one place. The facility and the food are nice. The staff was very nice, and everything was brand new. They have several restaurants, a cafe, gyms, and pools. They have therapy. They have a book club and clubs for men and women, and they do outings all the time."

"The tour I had at The Inn at Garden Plaza went really well. The facility was very elegant. Amy was the person who took me on the tour, and she was very good and very thorough. It was a wonderful place, and the residents were very, very friendly and seemed happy. I asked a number of them how they felt about living there, and they all said they were really happy to live there. They had a lot of programs and a lot of activities that were interesting to me. I liked that they take them out on short hikes in the mountains. They also have a lot of exercise classes (some in the pool). The staff all seemed very competent. I also met a couple of the maintenance people. Their activities director was extremely good. They all seemed to know what they were doing and were friendly. The only drawback was the price. I looked at two rooms that they had open at the time. One was an empty 1-bedroom and the other one was a large studio. The difference between them was ten square feet, and the price between them was $600 a month difference."

"My dad moved into Laurel Gardens Apartments. It's clean. Its security enclosed. They have staff and volunteers that are there. It's a community of people his age. Each apartment has a kitchen where they cook their own food. They have several activities, but right now with the COVID thing, they can't do squat. They have a little theater, they have a community room, they have laundry, and there is an area to relax out front and out back."

"We moved to Affinity at Colorado Springs. Inside my apartment there are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a large bathroom where you can fit a wheelchair if needed, and it's equipped with a shower that has handrails. We have a washer, dryer, and large closet, and the main bedroom has ceiling fans. Additionally, there's a large refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher in the kitchen, along with a bar where you can place some chairs. There's also a balcony or patio with outlets conveniently located throughout the space. They have a saltwater therapy pool and a Jacuzzi with a chairlift to assist in getting in and out of the pool. There's a workout area, a woodworking area, and a barbecue area with several tables. Every Thursday they host a social hour. They also provide a kitchen area downstairs that you can reserve for free if you want to have a birthday party for you and your family. They have a wood-burning pit area where you can sit around, burn wood, and chat in the evenings. They have large garages and covered ports. The staff is amazing. Two of the three gals in the front office run the happy hour, and they're fabulous, fun, and helpful. They provide all the information you need. I'm on the third floor, and there's a trash chute. They also have a dog grooming station and rooms that you can rent, similar to hotel rooms, in each of their facilities all across the United States."

"I moved into Regency Towers. Everybody is extremely friendly. The management is very nice and helpful. It's just a beautiful place to live. It's got a great view of the mountains and a long balcony that goes the whole length of the apartment. They have bingo, happy hour on Fridays, parties on the holidays, a swimming pool, and a small exercise room. It has everything I need. There are no meals. It's strictly an independent living apartment. They have one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments in the building. They have two elevators. They do take pets. I'm very happy here. Any issues I've had, all I've done is talk to the manager management; it's fixed the same day or they take care of it. I don't get involved in the activities too much, but I know most people do. They all seem to enjoy them."
