"I was very impressed with V-Esprit and my friend paid a deposit to be on a waiting list for a unit. The person who did the tour for us was actually one of the owners of the property. And he was tremendous, he spent a lot of time with us, he was knowledgeable and did a good job in presenting a lot of the options. It was a very impressive place being an independent living community, with all its options available. They don't have a regular food service but they do have a bistro that you can go in and get meals on a pay basis. It wasn't open at the time we went there but our tour guide unlocked it and showed us the facility, then explained the system and explained the menu and prices. It was a beautiful community with incredible and beautiful views of the mountains. It has free access to an extensive health club, a swimming pool, more extensive grounds and walking paths within the community. These are more suitable for a younger crowd. They also have a back deck and more areas for sitting or lounge areas."

"I have chosen them for my husband. I like that it's more of a home-type setup. The staff was very helpful and answered all my questions. They made me feel at ease. Activities were going on and it was a more free-moving situation. We saw one-bedroom apartments and they were good. They provided privacy to the individuals, which gives them a level of dignity. We went to the dining room and then there was a TV room and we got to see the outside area. There's a deck with a grill and table and chairs and then there's a garden area and a very large backyard. I was quite impressed with that. I liked it. The facility was quite clean. We saw the memory care and I liked that it was very secure. You couldn't go in and out, and the doors were locked down. Everything worked out as far as my needs, my husband's needs, and location."

"I toured Quincy Place. It was nice, clean, and open. The people were friendly. Everyone looked well cared for and like they were enjoying themselves. I looked at three different apartments. The studio was very small, but they all had a small kitchenette, a refrigerator, a sink, and a couple of cupboards. They were doing some renovations, too. The staff who toured me was very nice. She listened to what my needs were. It looked like they could accommodate everything I needed."

"My dad moved into Brookdale Tamarac Square. There are a lot of things to like about it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The environment is very nice for the money, and I think he will be very happy there. What I do not like is that the unit size could be a little bigger, but we understand that it will be smaller. He said the food is good. Most of the building is newly remodeled. Everything is very clean. They have movie nights. They have trips to different activities outside or to casinos. They have an exercise room, an activity room, and a movie theater. It feels very fresh and up-to-date and has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere."

"Brookdale Meridian Englewood is a gorgeous place, but it's not for somebody who doesn't do a lot of walking. It is tough to get around there, and their meals are on the first floor. The memory care side was OK, but their rooms are just kind of hospital-type. They didn't allow any personal items to be in the place to make you feel at home, but the facility is very clean. The gentleman that we were originally scheduled with didn't seem to have enough knowledge about the entire place, so he brought in somebody else, and she was fabulous."

"It was the first one we visited, so it's kind of hard to remember how we would compare it. I would give it a very high rating in every way. We did have a meal there, so I would say a high rating for a meal. There were a big luncheon and people who lived there and became the guides around the building; that was very friendly and very welcoming. It wasn't as staff as we saw in the other two places. The guy lived there and likes it. They had a pool, and they had a schedule of activities. It was a nice experience. It's the newest of these places, so it ought to look good."

"We toured Harvard Square Retirement and Senior Living. I liked a lot of things about that community. They had long-term employees. It was very clean. It was very nice. They have activities. They have a group that would go and welcome new residents, so they weren't just sitting in their apartments. They wanted people out and engaged, and so I like that. The employees seemed very nice. All the ones we met had been there for at least five years. It was a beautiful setting. They had a library, and they had a walking path, it was very nice. We walked into the dining room, and it looked very nice. And they had different seating configurations. It looked like a restaurant. The building looked very clean. Of the places I looked at, this by far was the best. Residents seemed to be engaged."

"We like Brookdale University Park Colorado. Various rooms like the library, the movie room, the meeting room, and the art room were pretty much centrally located and were not spread out like some other places. We felt like it had a good feel to it. Everyone was very friendly. The dining area was fine. We had dinner there, and it was good. They have all kinds of groups, games, and activities. They take people to places, too. The staff seemed very helpful. The food was very good. There is quite a good selection. It is one of the best menus I've seen. The facility itself seems good. There is laundry in the apartment rather than having it on the floor or down a basement or something. There was no pool, but I think they go twice a week to the Y. They also have more men, close to 50% or something. It is nice to have some guys around."

"We went to see Sky Pointe Retirement Community, which is in Littleton, and that was probably our favorite. However, the cost there is a little more than what we can manage. The community was very welcoming. Just walking in the entrance, it felt like it was just a place that you'd like to be. The person who helped us during our visit was excellent. She was helpful and has sent a couple of responses since we've been there. The dining area was cafeteria style, where you could select what you wanted, and there was a good variety. It's also a very active community. We like the location because it's close to where we live now. It's also on the west side of Denver, and we like that the foothills are right behind it."

"I moved in November. I am in independent living. I visited many facilities and this was far and away my first choice. My apartment faces West and I have the most fantastic view of the front range. My balcony overlooks the court yard and I can hear the fountain. The common areas are attractive and cozy. The facility seems to put a great deal of care in the apartments . I feel right at home in my cozy nest. The food is ok. Sometimes it’s excellent and sometimes not so much. But there are many additional choices available to satisfy all tastes. What makes Springbrooke so special is the staff. They are kind, helpful and caring. They show so much patience. I’m happy with my choice"

"I toured Brookdale Parkplace. They were very helpful and very informative. They showed me all of the amenities of the place. I thought it was a little bit expensive with the service fees. The staff was very nice and cordial. She answered all my questions. The facilities were very clean. The structure was very good. It's very livable. I saw the TV room and the exercise room, and both looked fine. When I stepped in it was warm and cozy. It was not very busy. I didn't see a whole lot of people at the time I was there, but I know that they have happy hour going at 5:00, and that they seem to be pretty happy."

"Brookdale Meridian Lakewood was very well maintained. The apartments were fully equipped. The view outside, the trees, and the walking paths were something we liked. The staff was very professional and very well-organized with lots of good information. They had a beauty salon, outdoor walking paths, and a fitness area. Their upkeep was good."

"Lakewood Reserve was a very nice facility. It was newly remodeled. I felt like it was too far from where I wanted my mom to be. I thought that the person who gave me the tour was great. She was knowledgeable. I liked that every day they would have, like a sample plate for every meal that they would make so that the residents could look at it and go, oh, yeah, I want the egg and the sausage, or I want the egg in the sausage in the toast. And they made like three different plates up. So you had three different variations of what that could look like. I liked the person who was taking the tour, although she was new, she knew people's names. She was like hey, Marcia. We were walking through and she was like oh, hey, Peggy, do you mind if we peek our head into your room? And we were able to look into what a furnished apartment looked like. And the person was affable to allow us to look into her place. They seemed to have a lot of activities. They had, like, this kind of, heightened service to serving people who were in the military and had a military wall. And the person who was in the front who welcomed us, she seemed to know everybody who was going in and out, and it seemed very welcoming and very comfortable. It had recently been renovated so a lot of the spaces were newly painted and newly decorated. And she's been great with follow-up and checking in to see how we were doing. They also looked to see if their facility could accept my mom's medication. And they also were willing to come and do an evaluation on my mom to see whether or not the facility would make sense for her."
