Facility feels like a small community. The staff interacts with the residents and tries to meet the needs of the residents. The food is nice and I think the best part about being here is that you can tell that management and staff try and care for the resident. That is the most important thing for me as I want to go to a facility that truly cares for their residents and wants the best for them. They are open with the behaviors and different situations of each individual patient and keeps patient information private. I feel like we can talk to staff and know they truly care about our situation and try to help us even if there is nothing they can do.

I have experienced many different nursing homes during my adult life. As far as I am concerned Cedarwood has got to be the worst example of what they call a nursing home. They are completely unorganized, and under staffed. They can't keep any good staff members due to to complete disarray of the management and the inefficiency of other staff. The place is dirty, and unsanitary. The smell is pretty bad as well. The food consists of primarily frozen product, warmed up and served cold a good share of the time. The portions of food are comparable to school children sizes. They run out of many items on their menu weekly. The laundry service provided is a complete joke! I lost over $50 of my personal items through their laundry service. Many other residents also complained of missing items. They have very limited activities offered to entertain the residents. Due to that, their is a lot of fighting and violence between residents. I was there recovering from an due injury I sustained, but if anybody with elderly family members their should be very concerning for their health and safety. I definitely would not recommended Cedarwood to anyone, they should be shut down in my opinion.

As soon as he got at Cedarwood Health Care, they lost him, and they haven’t taken a picture of him yet. I got a call in the middle of the night that they couldn’t find him, and I don’t live in Colorado Springs. I called them, and they said some neighbors have found him. I got many calls that he had fallen in the night, and one time required hospitalization. The other patients there; some were good, some were horrible, and one just tended to scream; that was not a good situation. They lost his hearing aids, and things were stolen. There was good staff and over trained staff, and the facility is comfortable. It always smelled.

This assisted living facility has a wonderful and caring staff. They always make sure that the patients and visitors feel comfortable and welcome. The facility was well organized and clean. The food is excellent. There was always someone asking the patient if he needed anything and asked me if I needed anything. They also were very friendly and I could tell that they were caring and compassionate. The administrative staff always called me to keep me posted about the patient and in emergency situations which I appreciated very much. This facility also sits in a nice quiet neighborhood so it seemed peaceful day and night. That gave it a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a loved one that needs extra care than can be provided at home. I can't say enough good things about it.
