"The staff is amazing at what they do. They kept us in the loop with my mother in law as her time came to an end. They were and always will be compassionate with their residents. This is a really nice place for someone to stay. It is always clean and never smells like some nursing homes do. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone that is looking to place their loved ones in a facility."

"The room at Fair Haven compared to what she has now is a bigger room. It was just one room with bathroom. They served all the meals in the dining room, and it was fine. The sanitation was adequate. It was a larger facility, and the people were friendly and nice. They do have schedule of activities. "

"My sister is at the Aspire Physical Recovery Center at Cahaba River. She seems to be secure and comfortable there. It's been pretty good. They provide her with complete care, room and board, security and nursing care, and they administer her medications. She's pretty well taken care of there. The staff seems considerate and efficient. Her room is very nice, and they provide a bed and a TV, and they accommodated some of her furniture. She seems to be pleased with the food. It's a very nice and pretty facility, but it's very expensive."

"My mom is at the skilled nursing area of St. Martin's In the Pines. I like that it is a cottage type setting with only ten residents per floor. All the meals are cooked there, and they've got a large gathering room with reclining chairs, a fireplace, a huge kitchen, a dining room, and screened-in porch. It's like living in a home instead of being in a traditional nursing home. Thus far, the staff has been very caring. Their ratio is five patients to one care provider, plus they have an RN 24 hours a day, and so far, the care has been good. They've only been open to visitors for ten days now because of COVID, which is how most of the places are, and as far as cost, their price is in line with everybody else."

"My friend is at the Aspire Nursing Home (Aspire Physical Recovery Center). It's brand new, and they serve 3 main meals. The staff is helpful. The place is very clean. They provide rehab, long-term, skilled care, and memory care. I think they have a wide range of care if you can afford it."

"The staff is friendly, courteous, compassionate and thorough! The facilityis cleaned constantly and there is no hint of urea in the halls or rooms! That is unlike other facilities of which I am familiar! PT, OT and ST are conducted by true caring professionals with goal oriented strategies. Admissions, activities, social services, nurses and CNA's will always greet you with a sincere smile. Financial office and admin always have their doors open and ready for consult. A true blessing for my Son! Thank you all at South Haven for being so professional and caring!! There is a special place in Heaven for all true caregivers!!"

"I was impressed with Blue Ridge Healthcare Birmingham (Fairview Health and Rehab). It was very clean and there was no smell or odor. The staff was very nice, explained things, and was very courteous. She took us to the physical therapy area. Everything was in place. The clients all seemed clean and dressed."

"My wife was at Diversicare of Riverchase for rehab. It was very thorough, very efficient, and treated very well. The communication was outstanding. They did everything they could to help her as well. It's an extensive one-level facility that has a very similar setup with various wings based on the level of need of the resident. She had a shared room."

"Cherry Hill Healthcare Center looks really clean and situated in a really nice location. There isn't a smell as you enter the building, and I am impressed with it. The staff is very nice, keep me very informed, and seem to really care. The dining area is nice, and the menu looks good. We are very happy with the place."

"I did not like the Birmingham Nursing and Rehab Center. It has good therapists that I got to work with, and they were very helpful. I was told that I would be able to shower, and that did not happen. They did not let me do that. I had to have a sponge bath everyday for 19 days, and I did not like it. They had a sheet of paper with all the activities planned out for the whole month. They had choirs and bands come in to play for the residents. "

"I am a resident of North Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, LLC. I love it here. I like the people. I love the activity, the food. I have friends here. The nursing staff is great. It's clean. We have our rooms cleaned every day or every other day. We have all kinds of things. We have bingo, arts and crafts, painting, and coloring. We go out to different activities. We go to the movies. We go to restaurants. We go to parks. We have picnics. We have bands and deejay. The dining area is clean. We can go to breakfast and lunch in the dining room or have it in our room. The food's very good and we get choices of meals we can order. The staff is very helpful, caring, and very knowledgeable."

"I like everything about the Kirkwood by the River memory care unit. There were a lot of activities going on and a lot of happy people and residents. I saw so many friendly staff, they had a chapel inside and it was just very well organized. Even one of the owners was there, interacting with the residents. I met the chaplain and it just seemed that everyone was just super, super friendly. The staff was very hands-on with the residents, very happy in their jobs, and seem to love the residents. They're going through a renovation, adding some memory care units. The rooms were rather small and needed to be updated, and that's what they're going to do. It was very clean."
