They had therapy twice a day at the Healthsouth Lakeshore, and it was top notch. They did not have other activities. We were just there for therapy so we can get better and go home. The therapists were all top notch. They really worked on getting people up and moving again.

Rehab for my dad was great. Nursing care not so good. Always seemed to put them out to ask for anything. My dad is very easy going and never gets mad. He would ask for something and they would ignore his requests. I would rate therapists 5 stars a d nursing attitudes a 2

Healthsouth Lakeshore is one of the oldest rehab facilities in Birmingham. It has been remodeled and supposed to be the best, but it wasn’t for my dad. It smelled awful, and he was not really paid attention to. He was left to sit in his wheelchair without anyone helping him for long periods of time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. They were inattentive, and the place smelled bad; it was not good.

I was sent to HealthSouth Lakeshore Rehab and they were quite good. They have several places where you can enjoy a meal with friends or with other patients. The physical therapists are excellent. The food was good and more than adequate. The room is just basic, a bed and a couple of extra chairs, built in dresser and a closet. It is very well maintained and more than adequate in size.
