Great through the week. Terrible on weekends. Food Majority of the nurses don't care about the patients Kat on the nightshift is an exception. She goes out of her way to take care of you even if she is working 2 units.

My mom transferred to Aspire Cahaba River for rehab on 5/13/24. Most of the staff was great during her rehab. My Mom was transferred from Aspire to a Nursing Home on 6/20/24, departure time 1:30 pm. When we arrived at Aspire on 6/20/24 my mother was out in the common area in her pajamas asleep in a wheelchair. Her room was being cleaned. A staff worker told us she was instructed to get my mom up and out of the room that morning. I asked about her belongings and was told that they were packed and put on the transport van. We ended up leaving late because her paperwork was not ready. When we arrived at the new facility the transport driver gave us a bag that contained my mother's shoes, wipes and some misc. items. None of my mother's clothing was in the bag. I called Aspire and spoke with Tracie. Tracie told me she would have transport bring us my mom's clothing. I told Tracie I would pick them up that evening. When I arrived at Aspire around 7:00 pm I was informed my mom's clothing was at the front desk. Only 2 articles of clothing were inside the bag. I was told John didn't know my mom was leaving, her clothes were sent to the laundry room to be washed. I went back to the facility and still no clothing. I contacted John, now he blamed the lost clothing on my 80-year-old mom whom he said would take her clothes off and throw them all over the facility. My mom would take her clothes off but not all over the facility. She was either in her bed or setting in a wheelchair. John was very rude and unprofessional. Days later I called John back, and he was worse than the first time we talked. I was then told my mom would walk all over the facility and take her clothes off in other patient's room. I told him she did not walk, and what is next. He said what do you mean. I said you need to reimburse me for her clothes that I had to buy. He said how much are you talking about. I asked him for the person above him and he said there was no one above him. On 6/27/24 I received a call from Ms. Bell, she left a voicemail stating she spoke with John, and they would reimburse me for the money spent on clothes if I could bring her the receipts. That same day I took her the receipts, she apologized for the lost clothes and the extra stress this caused me. Ms. Bell called me again on 6/28/24 they are working on the check. She called again on 7/1/24 stating waiting on John's signature to issue me reimbursement. 7/2/24 Ms. Bell called again, they do not have that amount of cash on hand and that Corporate will have to process the check. To this date I have not received reimbursement for my mother's clothing.

The facility is aesthetically pleasing but their professionalism is horrible. My mom passed in July and it took almost 2 months for Aspire's resident doctor to approve/sign the death certificate. I contacted the facility and was routed to 2 different social workers. Both assured me I was following the correct process and they'd escalate the matter. It wasn't until I informed the executive director and contacted Alabama's ombudsman that a resolution was found. The director of nursing contacted me and instead of apologizing and ensuring these issues wouldn't happen to other families, she wanted to know why I didn't call her cell phone and that once she got the request it was resolved. First, it's not the responsibility of the families to decipher Aspire's procedures. After calling and looking for direction I was told the path I'd taken was correct. Next, having a death certificate sit for almost 2 months is unacceptable. Being prompt and following up on administrative tasks are simply part of their responsibilities. Finally, imagine being asked to remove your factual experience and review from the internet by the Director of Nursing. Absolutely, not. I hope this review helps other families and no one is given this sort of runaround again.

Beautiful facility, poor administration because we have tried to get a referral to a place close to home and the social worker, Michelle , is being evasive. The immensities are exaggerated greatly.

All I can say is don't. There are too many excellent options available in Birmingham for inpatient rehab/skilled nursing care. I spent 2-4 hours/day there with my loved one. She got heel ulcer, sacral breakdown, aspiration bronchitis while there. Found her not receiving her oxygen at least 3 times, found her soiled numerous times....I just started cleaning her up myself. Aides and licensed personnel were frequently found looking at their phones...especially in the evening after admin had left. You can complain and there will be a "cover our asses" attempt from administration....but the care doesn't change. We had two aides that we trusted with my MIL's care.

We toured Aspire Physical Recovery Center at Cahaba River and they had beds available. The lady we spoke with, her name was Sandi. The place was just immaculate. It was fantastic. I could not find anything I didn't like about them. We were very impressed.

Listen!!! Do not trust this facility to care for your loved one. Run far away, as possible. Staff is lazy and lack passion. On several occasions, our family ask for medical attention, which was not provided in a timely manner. It is a beautiful facility, but the quality-of-care sucks.

Staff on weekends is terrible. Friend that is a patient called for s bed pan and waited for over 2 hours and the staff never showed up. When I arrived I a layman had to put the bedpan under her. Also they ran of her medicine and it was a full day before they got it back in stock. Meals are hit an miss as for as getting was what was ordered. Seems to me they need a change in Management or Staff.

Tonight, my husband’s friend, a paraplegic, that his bed ridden, called him three times needing help, and was unable to get a nurse. My husband called the facility three times, phone calls lasting more than 15 minutes, ringing, no answer. His friend is of sound mind, therefore, my husband went to the facility to get him help.. This happened at Aspire Patchwork Farms in AL. Please watch after those who cannot help themselves.

My mom has been there for 4 days now for therapy. Needless to say, she doesn't like it there. Her first night there she cried when she realized NO ONE was going to stay the night with her. The WEEKEND Staff is "THE WORST". And I don't get short staffed when they have LPNs, who have been trained to do the same work as the CNA...so that's no excuse and now they have Med Techs, who help pass BP meds, statins, heartburn, and other non-narcotic med, but they think they're RNs....AND NOT. They ALL need to work together cause at the END of the day they are there for the residents NOT a check OR the facility may need to look in to getting agency staffing to help out.

We had our family member there for a rehab stay. At any given time there was only one CNA assigned to the entire unit. Our family member did not receive a bath for the entirety of their stay. Although they required assistance with feeding none was ever provided. We felt compelled to stay with our family member for 10-12 hours per day because of our concern with the level of care provided by the staff.

The facility is clean and beautiful with the exception of the staff. You can hit the call button , wait, wait and wait. Not one person showed up and my friend was in physical pain. They are rude and seem to be unhappy here. I would never put my family in this place. If you do you better be here 24/7

Great place to stay! Staff there were absolutely wonderful. Therapy staff was great and provided updates to us frequently. Mom said the food was actually good and had great coffee. Beautiful courtyard to sit in and large private room with big private bathroom. Lot's nicer than a normal hospital/rehab place. Told us exactly what to expect with discharge and everything was taken care of when it was time to go. Definitely recommend.

My mother stayed here for 3 days. That’s all she could take. They left her on the potty for hours. They wouldn’t answer the phone so I could get someone to help her. Terrible care.

My aunt is in Aspire Physical Recovery Center At Cahaba River for rehab, but I'm trying to place her there permanently. I've been pleased with it so far. It's very clean, and they're following the rules as far as not letting you in, so I'm pleased about that. When I take things for my aunt, they'll come outside the door, and I'll give it to them, they sanitize or do whatever they need to do, and then they take it in there. I've been impressed with it, and my aunt seems to like it. The staff is very nice, kind, and very considerate. I call her. I took a cellphone over there last week, and she seems to be pleased with this particular place. It appears they have all the activities, like they gather together and play different games.

This place they call a rehab is a joke. My father was sent from a hospital after a hip replacement during the lockdown with COVID. No visitors were allowed which I’m sure the staff loved. They made him serve a two week quarantine before having full access to rehab long story short he was sent home with a three inch deep bedsore no antibiotics and was home 1 week and had to be admitted back to the hospital for severe infection. After all the bad reviews I wonder how they keep their license? They have not heard the last of me and will be held responsible. Run as fast as you can away from this dump of a rehab. Absolutely ridiculous

Run. Run. Run. Don't walk. Run. Get your relative as far away from this facility as you can. We put our dear sweet mother in this facility and have regretted it everyday since. She was only there 55 days. On the 55th day her shoulder was dislocated and they did not call us or transport her the 7 minutes to the hospital for EIGHT hours. Subsequently, we found that she was being given oxycodone (for no good reason) and when I did a pill audit of her records and the prescription, nothing added up. As a result of their lack of care she had potassium building up which almost proved deadly. All of this occurred 10 days after I had filed a complaint with NHS management. 10 days. Needless to say, when she left the hospital after 2 weeks she did not go back there. Of note, only one aide at the facility asked about our mother when we were moving her things out. The prior complaint to management was after 2 meetings with the on-site social worker who is the go-between for families/residents and the staff. Additionally--and this is still unbelievable--the person investigating the complaint to NHS Management got there to investigate the complaint on the day that they discovered my mothers arm was dislocated and SHE NEVER called us either. Run. Don't walk from any facility in this family.

My sister is at the Aspire Physical Recovery Center at Cahaba River. She seems to be secure and comfortable there. It's been pretty good. They provide her with complete care, room and board, security and nursing care, and they administer her medications. She's pretty well taken care of there. The staff seems considerate and efficient. Her room is very nice, and they provide a bed and a TV, and they accommodated some of her furniture. She seems to be pleased with the food. It's a very nice and pretty facility, but it's very expensive.

Do NOT send your family member to this facility! Don't let the aesthetics fool you! This was the biggest mistake putting my mother in this facility and I left her there too long for a 21 day rehab. She died 10 days after leaving this facility and their care was horrid! Night staff is unprofessional, uncaring, they don't want to be bothered. They talk hateful to the patients and family for that matter. Admin will make excuses but nothing changes. There are no activities like the facility advertises. Their activities consist of some puzzle boxed on a shelf. They are slow to respond and if your loved one is bedridden, then they will have to go in their beds or hold it until someone decides to walk down to their room. My mother slept in her own waste because of this. There is no excuse for the lack of care this facility provides.

Awesome facility! The staff at this facility saved me. I received excellent care. My nurses were great and took care of my every need. This was my first trip after surgery so my pain was well controlled. I have to have surgery again and I will be back. I have full confidence in that I will be treated like family.! Excellent job girls!

Aspire at Cahaba River is a great and very upscale place. The service is very nice. I don't have complaints. The food is very nice. They also do post-op surgery rehabilitation there. We've only been there a month. I recommend the place. It's a good place to go. The rooms are very nice, and she has no complaints about the food.
