I am/was a resident of this facility

The people here at Beatrice Place are extremely nice. They have a lot of activities. They give you a monthly calendar, which I have. This Friday at 5:00, they will have a potluck dinner where you're supposed to bring food to share. If you have a doctor's appointment, you have to give them ample time to set it up so that someone can take you. They provide internet, TV service, and Wi-Fi. They have an in-unit washer-dryer combo, which they had to replace mine because it wasn't working. There's a lot of stuff that they do. The people are very friendly and very nice. Their maintenance man is a sweetheart. The day I moved in, he helped me move a lot of things into the apartment because at the time, I was renting a car, and I was going back and forth to the house I had just sold. The place is beautiful. Because I'm a new resident, they're giving me a meal for nothing in about a week or two because they showed me the menu, and most of the stuff came with pasta and I eat gluten-free so I couldn't order anything that had pasta, but once a week you can order stuff yourself. They also have an exercise room. The one woman who's up in the front office there is Julie, and she is a very nice lady. Today, they do chair yoga, and then at 1:00, they have cardio drumming. They were doing that the day I moved in and it looked very interesting. At 3:15, they do the rosary at the chapel. They do pool at 1:00 on Thursdays and they do Pokeno on Wednesdays. They have a knitting club and the new residents would get a free hand-knitted lap blanket. It's like a two-tone green and that's one of my favorite colors. They have four things going on in a day. They have a shuffleboard right outside my room, too.

I visited this facility

I toured the Beatrice Place. The staff was very friendly. It's affordable, and it has lots of activities, but it did not feel inviting. It's a bit small, and it did not have as many amenities as the other place I saw. There is a chapel, activities, a transportation shuttle, community lunches each week, and a café, but no dining room, which is a big thing we are looking for.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has done really well at Beatrice Place. She's with people her age who have the same interests, and they provide some group activities, dinners, and potlucks suppers. There is a bunch of residents who will find something to do and then will organize it. It's been a good place for her. The staff is very good. The lady who runs it, her mom is a resident there. They're personable and help out in any way they can, driving them around if they need to get driven to doctors or whatever. They have an open lunch at least once a week where people can bring their lunches out in the kitchen area and talk. They have a suggestion box, and they're doing whatever the residents want. They cook their own food here. The facility is nice and clean.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Beatrice Place is independent; it's part of the Episcopal Senior Living Centers. It's great for my mom because all the apartments open into an inside hallway, which is good because it's cold up there in the winter time. It's a very small apartment, but she needed a small one. She has trouble with mobility issues, but it's all handicap-accessible. It has walk-in showers and washer/dryers in the units and just all the things that she needed. I helped get the apartment ready and put up drapes, shower curtains, and shelves, so I was very familiar with it. We dealt with the people there, so they've been extremely helpful. She loves it there. It's just a great place. Very reasonable in price and really good people there running it. She's been in 2 different facilities there, and they're just wonderful. There are activities for them. I know they have a lot of informal things where people just get together and talk. They go in their little chapel, and they have people to play the piano, and the people can sing.
