"My ex-husband is in The Village at Towngate. It's smaller, it's close to where we live, and the people are very friendly. The food is great. The facility is very efficient. It's convenient. They have lovely areas to sit outside. It's clean. It doesn't smell. It's an old building, but it's well taken care of. We picked it because we liked it. My ex-husband hasn't participated in any of their activities. He hasn't been there too long, and is still getting his mobility work done."

"I went to Cherry Ridge. It was a very nice community. It was very clean and well-kept. They had great facilities. We visited the cafeteria or dining hall. They had a wide variety of independent living floor plans, which was nice. The rooms were very clean. Excellent. The staff was very friendly, very helpful, and very informative. They had a nice living room, but they did not have a fitness room. They said that was going to be developed, but got canceled because of COVID. But the facilities that we saw were very nice."

"The only assisted living available is at their Cherry Ridge campus. It's beautiful, and very hard to get into. If you or a loved one can get into it, you'll be glad you chose St. Anns!"

"We have found a place for Mom. It's a new place, and it's called Ashley Woods at Penfield. It had the right combination really of everything else. Everybody offers pretty much the same amenities, but this had a good price to go along with all the amenities, and being that it's new, even though the company is doing business for a long time, it is everything we wanted. It met all the requirements that we felt we needed. The staff seemed to be very knowledgeable. A couple of people we spoke to had been in the business for years now, and they seemed very knowledgeable. Another reason is no apartment is far from an elevator, so there's never a lot of walking for any of the residents. Everything was pristine. The rooms were beautiful. They were all one-bedroom apartments that we looked at. A few were bigger just because of where they're located, but still very nice. There's a little kitchenette, a living room, and a bedroom. They have no pool, but they have all the other things. They have a salon, medical facilities, three meals a day, and a place where you can eat whenever you want."

"They have renovated alot of the building. The brand new rooms look great and modern. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They have a big game room with pool tables, games and a seating area to watch movies. The hair salon there is great for my aunt who gets her hair done every month. "

"I visited Heathwood in Penfield. They have a home theater, they take the residents out on field trips, and they also have a game room and dining facilities. They have a van that takes you wherever you want to go, like at the doctors' or the grocery store. I'd probably put my mom there if she had wanted to come to New York. They're assisted living, plus they have a memory care unit."

"Mom has moved into Legacy at Grande'Vie. It seems to be a nice place. She's got friends there. It seems to be very pleasant, and they take care of her pretty well. She likes the place. She is dying to get back home, but she can't be left unsupervised. She is kind of resistant to not being in her house, and that's about the only real problem with it. My mom doesn't complain about Legacy at Grande'Vie. The people are very happy and attentive. She seems very, very cheerful. As long as she's not thinking about home, she seems to be happy, active, and whatnot, so she is doing fine. Their food seems decent; it seems to be OK. With regards to the building itself, it's got some wear and tear on it, but it's clean. They seem to have some activities going on down there. They have a courtyard, benches, and a nice sitting place. The place looks spotless. The exit could use a little hallway carpet, but that's about it."

"The Northfield was a very nice facility. The staff was very good and accommodating, and we may use them in the future. The rooms were lovely and bigger than what we needed. "

"We moved our dad to Fairport Baptist Homes. It's been going well and they are taking good care of him. The staff is really helpful and kind. They check on my dad very often and they are providing him all the care that he needs. I tried the food and it's very good. They have activities such as bingo, music, arts and crafts, and animal visits. The cost is high unless families can qualify for Medicaid and my dad's on Medicaid, so I feel like he's getting a very good deal."

"Norton Place Home would have been my second choice for Dad. The staff was very nice and friendly. They had bingo, dances, outings, and all kinds of activities. The whole place looked very nice."

"I am the daughter of a resident that has been in this facility for almost 6 years and i can honestly say that since the day she moved into the facility things have definitely became not so great .....the medical attention that my mom needed had been ignored on a couple of occasions they told my mother just recently in the last 2 months she didnt need an ambulance(i heard this myself) after my mom complaining of shoulder pain and shortness of breathe for 2 weeks and me making threats to the facility did they call an ambulance finally. And the outcome to that is that my mom almost lost her life behind the facilities lack of empathy.......my moms heart was failing at only 20 beats . so the pains in her shoulder when she would complain about it was mini heart attacks! For 2 weeks my moms needs were ignored even after my mom asked to be taken in ambulance.....and this isnt the only. Incident......fractured pelvis that was ignored for 3 weeks but thats a whole other paragraph....needles to say i am now working on getting my mom out....it once was a very nice place. . the food is limited there are barely any activities and those only include a wii game coloring sometimes bingo ....bed bugs clothing doesnt get returned most of time....i can go on and on.This is things not only has my mom told me but things i have heard and seen myself with how the staff and facility is ran from 6 years ago til present....."

"We came for a tour for a family member. We ultimately didn't need placement but I was so impressed with the facility. We were greeted properly and everyone we passed said hello. The facility was clean and very well kept. The administrator also took the time to introduce herself. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking."
