"My Mother currently resides at Solstice and we are very happy with the care and treatment she receives. She also has dementia and and gets easily confused, but the Staff is very patient with her, and help her navigate the facility, provide medication reminders and bring her food if she does not want to leave her room that day. I would recommend this place to family and friends. "

"Legacy at Cranberry Landing was a lovely community. It was very welcoming when you come in, it was very warm, and very cozy. The independent living was lovely, and they have a two-bedroom available. In terms of the location, it wasn't that far from me, but it was on the expressway, so it's not as convenient as some of the others. The dining area was lovely, although I didn't eat there. They had all the amenities like a beauty parlor and there were a lot of activities scheduled. I have talked to the residents who live there and everyone seems happy."

"My cousin has moved in. They are doing a great job of making her almost happy. Her room is clean. They have a lot of activity. They have exercise room, hairdresser, library, piano, dining room, and social room. The dining room is clean and bright with a varied menu. They provide nice service, too. They pay attention to special requests. The staff members are warm and caring. They have a book discussion, they have somebody playing the piano, they have card games, they have bingo, and they have cultural trips and shopping trips. There is somebody who can do shopping for you if you are not able."

"Gardens Senior Apartments was subsidized and too small for what we wanted. It was handicap-accessible, which was good, but we wanted a two-bedroom which was not available. We were above the income limit because it was subsidized. The environment was what we wanted. It was country living and about six miles from where we lived. We liked the area, but it was not ideal because it was not near the hospital. The staff was very good and very accommodating. Everything was very good. They had a nice environment, gardens, and activity rooms. They were very clean, but it was not for us."

"I'm in Farmington Gardens and I'm very happy with this facility. This is just a 55 and over apartment, but I like the safety and security they provide. It's a very clean new building and there's only 88 apartments here. Everything is new and there's great safety features in the building. It's locked down at night. It's also peaceful and quite and there's a lot of things to do here. There are a lot of activities here that you can participate in. There's not much staff here, just an office and a maintenance person. "

"The Legacy at Village Wood is reasonable as far as pricing and what they include. They do what is called the “I’m OK” program. So even though it is independent, every morning when they wake up they have to put what looks like a little hotel peg on their door that said I’m OK, so they know that they made it through the night. They’ve got a call button that they wear around their neck, so for some reason if they were to fall or have an issue, they can push the button and someone will respond. There are some meals and some utilities that are included in the rent. They have a shuttle that makes a trip to the grocery store once a week, so if my mother-in-law doesn’t feel like she can drive her own vehicle like in the winter, then she can still get to Whitman and get to the pharmacy to get her prescription. They try to do some activities for the residents like social outings. So for the money and with what they are offering, it is still better than her being alone. The staff was really knowledgeable and friendly. They were extremely knowledgeable, and a lot of times they seem to be a little more on the ball as far as having the information before I even had to ask them. As far as floor plan size, it is definitely more apartment type even though it is still a studio. "

"The Legacy at Fairways is a wonderful community. My parents have lived here for about 8 years. Once our nest was empty, my spouse and I decided to join them, and sold our home. Now we also reside in a villa, which is very spacious. In fact, our basement is allowing us ample storage. We have no regrets and enjoy the new friends we have made. We have the opportunity to participate in classes, attend gatherings, and have our meals prepared for us. The front desk staff is especially friendly and helpful. We like it enough to tell others about it! "

"I chose Linden Knoll because it had quite a few of the things I was looking for. Everybody seems very friendly. It's very clean and well lit. The floor plan is contained. It's not a lot of space, but it's cozy, and I think it's going to be all I need to be comfortable. The staff was very informative and willing to answer any questions."

"We got my cousin into independent living at Cherry Ridge in Webster. It's an ideal situation because he could just walk across the way and go visit his wife who is in skilled nursing in the same facility; he could visit every day. One thing that we liked was the ability he would have to visit her. They're both located on the same site and within walking distance, so he can go visit her as often as he likes. He's in independent living, so he has an apartment, and it is beautiful. It's a three-room apartment with a galley kitchen. It has a little eating area, a full living room, a big bedroom, an enormous bathroom, and a washer and dryer. They come in and clean every couple of weeks but he vacuums it every day. The way it's all laid out is nice. The skilled nursing care is not large. I think they only have seventy people in skilled nursing care, so they really get a lot of personalized care. The staff is great; they're very on top of things. Even though he's in independent care, there's a doctor right there on site, so we transferred all his medical care to the doctor. There's a dentist, too, so it's all very convenient. The food is excellent. If he doesn't want to go to the dining room, he goes downstairs for lunch and brings it back up to his apartment. Sometimes he sits down there in the dining room, though. They bring the dinner right to their door. The menu selections are great and they're flexible. I know he has not taken advantage of the activities, but I see that they have groups that hike around, like walking groups, and they have exercise classes too. They have a lot of groups there, like card groups and hiking groups. I think they even take people to different functions throughout the area. It's very varied but if you don't want to do them, nobody's going to force you. I think their cost is very reasonable too."

"My mother is in Cloverwood Senior Living. She had a patio home there and she fell. She was in the independent living and now she's in their rehab facility. It's an excellent facility and an excellent campus, and the staff there is wonderful. The food is outstanding. It's a varied menu, the food is just excellent, and the service is excellent. It's a tremendous campus. The whole campus is wonderful. Her patio home was beautiful. They have walking paths and they have all sorts of activities. It's a great place. They have a beautiful indoor pool, exercise classes at various levels depending upon your mobility, live music, a beautiful indoor movie theater, and they have guest speakers that come on all sorts of different topics. It's the best place that we found in the Pittsford area."

"My mother is in Legacy at Clover Blossom, and it is excellent as far as the rooms are concerned. The maintenance staff adjusts issues immediately, and if there are any problems, they respond immediately. The food is very good, and the staff is excellent. Liz -- who runs the reception desk -- was amazing. They offer a lot of things for the residents, and the activities are very good. "

"I toured Valley Manor. I love the location. It's downtown, but it's close to an arts district, and it's nice for neighborhood walking. They were a little short of staff the day I visited. Now, whether that's a chronic condition or whether it just happened to be that day, I don't know, but the staff was very pleasant. I noticed that they greeted their residents by name, which is kind of unusual, but it seemed to be a very people-oriented place. The meal I had was very good and there was a nice selection on the menu. It's an apartment building with a nice garden and patio area, and beautifully landscaped. The apartments vary a lot. They allow the residents to decorate, and if they want to install things, even like a bar or an art gallery or something in their own apartments, they can do that. It's obviously at their own expense, but I was very impressed with the individuality that is permitted in each apartment."

"Ashton Place Senior Living is an excellent facility. It's about 25 years old. It's in very, very good condition and the people there are wonderful, very caring, and concerned about the residents. My mother-in-law has a kitchenette, a living room, a big bathroom, and a big bedroom. All the meals can be provided. Rides can be provided. There are three different levels of care there and the highest level of care will administer medications. They will check the residents every two hours. It's a very good facility and the people are all excellent. We had food there and their menus are outstanding. They're usually at a choice of entrees for dinner and during the holidays, they put on a spread for them. They had prime rib and shrimp cocktails and all sorts of sweet things. They have many activities. My mother-in-law enjoyed playing bingo. They usually have musical concerts at least 2 or 3 times a week. They offer religious services."

"We explained our situation to a social worker, and he suggested Armstrong Senior Living and another place. We like them both, but we decided to put my mother in Armstrong. It is a small place; there are only maybe 30 beds there. It is a little bit different than a lot of other senior living places. They have an independent certified nurse's aide there who takes care of their residents' needs. Basically, you can contract her for whatever you need for your loved one, whether to give medication or for housekeeping. Also, the price is reasonable. This nurse is very good. She is on top of everything, and I can talk to her. She also takes my mother to her doctor's appointment if she needs to. The help is excellent. They have been very good and very helpful with us with our mother. It also turned out that the residents are just wonderful. The moment my mom walked in, all the lady residents kind of gathered around her, and they just took her under their wing and made her feel at home. It is a very friendly community. It is not a fancy place, but it is homey. Everyone seems to take care of everybody. My mom has a room, which is small, but it is enough for her. She also has her own private bathroom. Mom is a very sociable person, and she is usually out in the public areas where everybody else is. They would play games and have someone to paint their nails and/or do their hair. So basically she uses her room for sleeping and for what she wants to do by herself. This facility serves good home-cooked meals. They are not fancy, but my mother likes it, and she eats well there. However, to me, the most important part is having friendships and knowing that she is being taken care of there. "
