"I was a resident here at Oak Hill manor, I had a full hip replacement with a major fall at home. The facility was very clean, food was fantastic. I personally met the chef, administrator, and director of nursing and they were all helpful and mindful of my care. I felt everyone there was extremely competent, knowledgeable, and informative. With the COVID19 measures, I felt very confident in their care and comfortable that I was safer inside than outside. The building is "old" or "tired" and is undergoing renovations and major upgrades which were stalled because of COVID19. The administrator was helpful and said "hi" to me everyday, always answered my questions and understood me. Nursing staff were great, fantastic, and well-staffed. I would highly recommend this facility. "

"I liked the whole complex of Kendal At Ithaca and the idea that you can go there at different stages, starting with living independently, and then assisted living. If you have to go to the hospital, that is there too. They have doctors looking after you, so you don't need to go anywhere else. They showed me various rooms and sizes, activities rooms, and a pool. The staff was very outgoing, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The food is very good. I've tasted it a few times, and I was not disappointed. I know several people who live there already, and they said the food was acceptable. They have a dishwasher and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. They have hallways with benches and little extra rooms. They have musical activities, handcrafts, movies, and outdoor sporting facilities for various sports like tennis."

"My relative will be moving into Longview, an Ithacare Community. They have a lot of services and a lot of activities for the guests, so I think that's great. They also have a partnership with Ithaca College. They have shuttles to concerts and other cultural events at the college, so that's awesome. There's a trail that they can walk on with their dogs. It's a nonprofit, so they had just started a moderate-income program, which is helpful for people who don't have a lot of money. So those are all great things. I don't have anything negative to say. My relative hasn't moved in yet, but it seems like it's going to be great. The rooms are efficiency style. There's a bedroom with a big bathroom with walk-in showers. There's a small cooktop and a dorm fridge. I think their food is good. Every day there's a long list of activities. They have clubs, games, and shuffleboard in the hallway. They have a small pool, and they have exercise classes in the pool. They also have a small exercise room, so they offer fitness classes. The staff are great."

"My mom is now at Evergreen House. I chose it because there are only six residents, and she gets more one-on-one care. She exercises every day, and they eat their meals together. They just entertain them. The food is wonderful. Everything is excellent. It's very homey. It's just beautiful. My mom shares a room. They have somebody come in once a week to do her hair and nails. They drive her to her doctor's appointments. They just treat them so wonderfully. For this Friday they did pizza and root beer floats and just tried to snap them out of the winter blues. They just do fun things with them. The place she was in before was the most awful place in America. It was terrible, terrible, terrible, and we were so happy to find this place. "

"Groton nursing facility could definitely use more staff when it comes to aide and things like that. Other than that, the aides are wonderful, they're very nice to her. It's just that she can't get up and go to the bathroom on her own without assistance. And they usually take two people. I know they're big, I think there are 40 patients on each floor or something like that. During the day, I think there's only six aides and at night there's two I think, so it's kind of tough. Sometimes my mom has to wait an hour for her to go to the bathroom. She is sharing a room with another lady who is pretty incapacitated. She's just there. They get everybody up every day. They have wonderful meals and everything. We're in and out every day. They need more aides, that's all. "

"This home is very run down and understaffed. All of the people staying at the facility are mentally (and mostly physically) disabled. The staff spends a majority of their time ignoring outbursts from some patients, which in turn upsets other people living in the facility. The staff also posts on some patients facebooks calling them a "bum" and other weird things that upset their family members- which I then have to hear about if I run into them during visiting. I've also seen staff updating MY family member's facebook page saying she "..is feeling crappy today." My family member is 78 years old, disabled, and mentally retarded- she cannot talk or communicate, this is unacceptable!!! Is this a joke to someone?! Because it is not funny to us! The staff is very unprofessional and does not have much training. I only hope that some day the funds coming into this organization will funnel into fixing up this particular Groton facility and also into proper training for staff rather than hiring young adults for minimum wage. I am unsure of how the other houses operate, they have several in the community, but from what I've seen in this one- I would never wish a family member to come here ever again. "

"Hi, I live near this facility and visit it often since my own father lived there. Amazing, loving home that is extremely inspiring. The Victorian house is beautiful,the rooms are large and private,a lot of activities,the staff are lovely and professional. Interlaken is a small, family oriented community with a library, great restaurant and store to walk to. Stella Avcisoy"

"It was fine. The physical therapy and everything like that was top shelf as far as we are concern. Cortland Regional Hospital were very good with mom. Our only issue was she got an intestinal infection, something that she'll have to deal with for the rest of her life. But other than that we have no complaints over there at all, they were good to her. They really worked with her, the aides were always there pretty prompt, the nurses were fairly good. "

"My experience with the facility was all in all a positive one. She always seemed to get the help and assistance she needed. They had scheduled times for eating and times to play games, such as bingo, which is my grandmother's favorite. I always felt like having a schedule was very important for her in order to keep her mind off not being in her own home. I was also very impressed with the food. I expected smaller portions and less quality, but it was the exact opposite. She always talked about how good it was.One thing that did bother me about the facility was that she had to share a room with another person. I understand that the facility has to accompany as many people as possible, but still, i wish she could have had her own room. I think it would have made her feel more at ease having her own room. It would have given her more of a feeling that she still can have some of her independence and freedom, like in her own house. "

"We chose Crown Park for my mother. She is actually going to move into the rehab unit, because they do that for their initial assessment, and then once they do all their assessments they'll move her into an actual unit. I believe she is going to go to long-term nursing, and eventually, as she transitions, she'll go to dementia-memory care. I liked that everybody was very friendly. The place was very clean. They were very approachable as far as answering questions. I didn't try the food, but they were having lunch the day we were there, and it smelled great. They have a beauty shop. They have several little dining areas if they don't want to eat in the main dining room. There is a huge outdoor space where they can go outdoors. I believe the staff said that the residents help with the gardening. They can have their own little flower plants and stuff out there if they would like to. The staff members were awesome."
