This home is very run down and understaffed. All of the people staying at the facility are mentally (and mostly physically) disabled. The staff spends a majority of their time ignoring outbursts from some patients, which in turn upsets other people living in the facility. The staff also posts on some patients facebooks calling them a "bum" and other weird things that upset their family members- which I then have to hear about if I run into them during visiting. I've also seen staff updating MY family member's facebook page saying she "..is feeling crappy today." My family member is 78 years old, disabled, and mentally retarded- she cannot talk or communicate, this is unacceptable!!! Is this a joke to someone?! Because it is not funny to us! The staff is very unprofessional and does not have much training. I only hope that some day the funds coming into this organization will funnel into fixing up this particular Groton facility and also into proper training for staff rather than hiring young adults for minimum wage. I am unsure of how the other houses operate, they have several in the community, but from what I've seen in this one- I would never wish a family member to come here ever again.
