"The Athenaeum of Skaneateles is beautiful. It's a big mansion. It's a big, single family home and it's now built into 14 really nice rooms. It's more like living at your house. It's very clean. We got a full tour. We talked to everybody, even the maintenance guy and the director of events. The head of the place took us around for a couple of hours. We met the chef and he was really friendly. The dining area was beautiful and overlooked Skaneateles Lake. It has two big tables and everybody eats together. It's like a big dining room in a big, wealthy house."

"We went to The Hearth on James. It's very nice. The rooms are large and very clean from what we saw. The admissions person that we spoke with, Erin, was very, very good. She hooked up with Pace CNY. So they were very helpful. We were very pleased. The staff who toured us was very helpful, very pleasant, polite. She was very nice to talk to. The room had a stove and refrigerator. I remembered there's a little kitchenette area."

"We toured Sedgwick Heights for my mother-in-law. They have an enhanced assisted living, and we thought that was an advantage. We liked the friendliness of the people. The rooms were a nice size. It's an older facility, but it's well maintained. Things are clean, neat, and so forth. We liked it because it has the enhanced assisted living, which will give her some more support if she needs it. The staff was patient and answered all our questions. They have a recreation program and a little store, and that's about it. A lot of that was on hold because of COVID. The layout was institutional, but the people were very friendly."

"The rooms were neat and organized, and the staff checked in regularly to see if my aunt needed anything.Meals were brought to her room, which was more like a small apartment. She also had the choice to invite guests over for dinner where she could cook if she chose to, or have them bring a meal from the kitchen. The staff was friendly and patient with the residents. "

"Because of my mom's financial situation, we needed to find a place that would accept SSI as payment, and that's one reason we chose The Bernadine. It is also the only place in our county that has apartments as opposed to having a shared room. That was very attractive because she can bring all of her stuff. They were very helpful in the application process and gave us a checklist of what we needed. They worked with us in a way that was very helpful especially for someone who wasn't familiar with how the whole thing worked. It's convenient to where I live, the staff was very helpful, and it was much easier getting this whole thing organized than I had anticipated. "

"Overall, the facility was excellent. The entranceway was welcoming and well-kept, with friendly staff waiting to help guide you through the facility. The lobby was well-decorated and didn't feel like a hospital; it felt more like a hotel. The nurse who was with us was also the nurse who was caring for my great-grandmother, and she was pleasant and friendly. There were a few staff members that seemed to be less pleasant, but we did not have a direct experience with them. The rooms were simply furnished and were a little dull. There wasn't a lot of room for personal belongings. However, they did feel nicer than something like a hospital room. Out of curiosity, we tried some of the food and found it to be surprisingly good. We looked into some of the services and facilities provided and found that were plenty of additional amenities for those able to take advantage of them, such as an entertainment room with various activities, and a swimming pool. The only major negative of the facility is that the care staff seemed to have a slow response time, though that could have been due to understaffing. "

"Mom broke her hip and needed rehab so she was at Elderwood. She really needed assistance going to the toilet as she's in a wheelchair. I think the staff was terrific there. She's receiving good care from them. As far as the nursing home goes, they are okay. She was sharing a room with another person. The food was terrible at Elderwood, just the worst. "

"Buckley Landing was very nice. It was a lovely place that my mother would be happy in. The staff was very friendly, open, and communicative. They're very cordial, helpful, and cooperative. The facility seemed clean and well-kept."

"The Nottingham is an ideal location with many amenities nearby. It's quaint, not too big, and not too small. I just think it's in a perfect location, and that's what really caught my eye. The rooms are perfect, whether you're single or a couple. It's very clean and appealing, too. It's a pleasant and just an overall beautiful, beautiful environment. When I found out that I needed to be sixty-two years old to get into the place instead of sixty, I ended the tour early, but I do want with all my heart, if the Lord spares my life for two years -- that's where I want to live. It's a fairly new facility, and the security level is good there. You needed a key, and they need to buzz you in to enter."

"I am in Menorah Park and I am going to stay here. It has everything I need. It has meals and laundry. The care is adequate. My room is very clean, and it is big enough for me. It has a bathroom and a kitchenette. We have many kinds of activities. We have shopping, music, bingo, and all the regular activities. The dining area is very nice, and the food is good. "

"My experience was nothing but excellent with the staff there. They were very helpful when my grandfather was in the hospital and I had to stop by the home for some of his items. The owners of the facility were also very excellent when my grandfather returned after the normal admit hours. They made sure to get him cleaned up and settled back in along with a hot meal. "

"My mother is already settled in Camillus Ridge Terrace. What I like most about this one is the location, just because all of my family is already out in Camillus, so having her nearby is nice. The residents, when we were touring, all seemed very happy and they have activities happening all the time, so that's huge. They have music pretty much every day, which I know makes my mom happy. They have movie nights. In terms of the general atmosphere, everything is clean, neat, tidy and welcoming. The staff seems attentive. My mom has been there for a month and they all know her by name. "
