"The New Burton Homestead was nice. The tour guide was very friendly, very outgoing, and very knowledgeable about her residents. The dining area and the open kitchen were also nice. You could go there and cook communally. I just wish the facility was positioned somewhere farther than on the corner of the highway, so it could have more of a scenic view around it. Other than that, I liked that they were pet-friendly, that they had a sunroom, and a garden that they worked on."

Not only is there a nursing home for those in greater need, but retirement apartments are available for those who are more self-sufficient. On site there are a great number of activities for the residents to partake in, and the open property allows exercise like walking, biking and running to be achievable. Never am I worried about my loved one's well being. Each room is equip with an emergency switch with a chord attached to it, so in case a resident falls and is unable to get up, they can activate the switch and help will be sent to the. In my experiences with the staff, all workers are charismatic and genuinely happy and willing to help residents with whatever they may need. A necessary component of an assisted living facility is that the family of the resident feels safe and at ease with their loved one being a resident. "My dad is now at Lutheran Home of Central New York. He went in May 1st. The staff is wonderful. The building itself is 100 years old, but it is very clean and very homey. The residents seem happy. My dad seems to fit right in going to meals. They're going to manage his medication. The staff seems very competent and trusting. My dad isn't much into group activities but they invited him to bingo and other activities. He either accepted or declined, so they respect his choice. He goes to the dining room, which is a good sign. They are very proactive about getting him involved. Food is very good. It is the only place that has continuum of care. They have independent, assisted, skilled or rehab and memory care. That's what I was looking for."

"Cedarbrook Village, Incorporated is nicer than the other place. It was nice, but they didn't have an opening. My sister would thrive there. She was familiar with this place, which is how we got onto that in the first place. Plus, it is in the community that she knows. We just thought Cedarbrook Village was better. The staff members were very, very helpful. It looked beautiful, well-kept, and clean. It looked perfect."

"We made our initial visit to The Terrace At Woodland Assisted Living. The facility was clean and looked comfortable and homey. The person who walked us through did a nice job of explaining everything to us. The dining area was comfortable. It had round tables that seat four people each. They also have entertainment there at times, and the place seemed very clean. The rooms were appropriate because they're bigger and my mother and father wanted to be together. They had a deluxe room we looked at and then we also looked at a semi-private one because we could get two adjoining semi-privates for them."
