"Brookdale Clinton was very nice. Everything looked clean. We checked around and the empty cupboards were all clean. The people all seemed very nice and caring. They have all kinds of hobbies that are there for anybody that's their interest. Our son and daughter went with us and they were very pleased with everything they saw. From putting the trash out your door and they pick it up, the laundry, and the services they offer as far as doing beds. The personnel were just so nice, right down to the maintenance man and everybody else. They spoke to you and talked to you and that made it very nice. The lunch we had was very good. We had meatloaf that day and mashed potatoes with gravy and asparagus. They had a strawberry cake and that was delicious. The parking seemed fine. We're handicapped, so the kids left us off at the front door, but the facility said parking for us would be close."

"My mom has moved into The New Burton Homestead. We chose it because it was available. The communication has been good. The food is good. Her room is conveniently laid out; it's small and very clean. There are several family rooms. They had a little reading area, and a room where they can do hairdressing and that type of thing. It was less expensive than any place else I looked at. They do offer laundry services."

"I recently toured Pounder Hall for my mother. From the moment I entered I was impressed. The staff member at the front desk (Mary Jane) was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She spent an hour with us going over what they have to offer and showing us three different sized units. It felt so homey, clean and pleasant. The apartments were not that big but more than sufficient for just my mother. A large bright living room and a good sized bedroom. Also a full bathroom with walk-in shower. The unique thing with this facility was the option for three meals a day. That seems to be rare in independent living. The residents seemed to be enjoying thier meals while we toured the dining room. I'm bringing my mom back for the final decision but I hope that she decides to make Pounder her next step in this phase of her life."

"I will be moving into Meadows Senior Living. The young lady was very thorough. She gave us a tour of the apartment and showed me the building, the facilities, the elevator, the laundry room, and the community room. I was pleased with the apartment. They have a courtyard and walkways where you can walk. They have a patio where people can go out, sit, and communicate if they want to. On each floor, there's a balcony that you can go out on; there's just one for each floor. You prepare your own meals or have meals on wheels. I like the layout of the basic rooms. The bedrooms were a little bit small, but I can deal with that. The staff members were nice. The facility was clean."

"My sister has moved into Preswick Glen. It's very nice. We chose it because her daughter lives very close there. The staff is friendly. It's in very good condition. The activities seem pretty comprehensive. She's enjoyed them. It's a very quiet and nice residential community outside of the cities."

"Schuyler Commons was very nice and clean, and things seemed well kept up. However, the carpet was dark and light. The refrigerators and stoves were black colors, and the cabinets in the kitchen were dark, so it felt like it gave the apartment a dark look, and we prefer a lighter feeling or something. For amenities, they had a swimming pool, a craft room, and a big community room. They had a bus that could take you to different places. I think the amenities were good. It seemed like a nice place. The staff who gave me the tour live there and are very knowledgeable."
