The Neighborhoods at Acacia Village are fabulous. Since i moved here in 2016, they are adding beautiful cottages and garden homes and are renovating/upgrading the community areas of the original facility. As apartments become empty, before new tenants move in, they are also being upgraded. There is an indoor pool, exercise equipment and classes, an entertainment area, library, and many, many games. The dining is first class. We have a jitney that takes us shopping and on outings at no charge. The staff is beyond belief. Their attitude and helpfulness is fabulous. When you move here you are joining a large family. I would recommend this to anyone, but especially those who are in their 70s and 80s.

We liked The Neighborhoods at Acacia Village because of the type of activities that were going on there and the people were quite energetic and interested in different things. We thought that was a good place for us because we're still active. They have different activities. They have choir, artistic things going on, plenty of room and opportunity for exercise, and a swimming pool. They also have a woodworking shop and a very attractive dining situation. It was a good active community. They have two apartment buildings and the apartments are roomy enough and attractive. They also have villas that they're building and they're adding on. So, the fact that they're able to add on and increase the number of people that they can serve is impressive and that gave me confidence in the longevity of it. They have the opportunity to grow their own vegetables or flowers or whatever in raised bed gardens. So that was something else that attracted me as well because I like gardening. The staff was very personable and willing to show us all around, to sit down and discuss different aspects of living there. The lady did a good job as far as we were concerned. She was very helpful. We met several of the residents, too, and they were quite pleased with their living conditions there and so forth. They are full at the present time. So, I hope something becomes available within a year.

We're going to move to Acacia Village. The rooms and the activities were very nice. We liked the idea of the library because we'll use that, and we hope we can exercise in the pool. The dining area looked very nice. The staff was excellent. It's very clean and well maintained. The rooms were certainly fine for us and spacious enough. We have our own patio, plus the ones that are on the grounds.

Wonderful Place for My Father My father, Lester, lived at Acacia Village with his second wife for 10 years. Acacia Village is a magnificent place. It is perfectly run and beautifully kept. The residents are wonderful (and varied in their backgrounds) and many of them formed long and lasting friendships. Amy Falvo, Bonnie, and the whole administrative team is totally professional, kind, and caring. Extremely helpful in every way. My only complaint is that they don't have an option for Assisted Living which would have allowed my father to stay there as his needs increased. I would give this independent living residence an A+++. Highly recommended.

While researching local Independent Living facilities for our mother, my sister and I came across some information that lead us to Acacia Village and it quickly topped our list of places we wanted to visit and see for ourselves...we had no idea how wonderful it was until we made that first visit with our mother. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was how beautiful it was both inside and out! Plenty of sunlight coming through the windows, gorgeous wooden beams in the lobby, well-kept grounds (with beautiful walking trails and a pond out back), and smiling faces from everyone who greeted us...it was simply wonderful! The atmosphere there was amazing and we immediately felt comfortable and right at home! We had made our appointment with Cindy C. (Retirement Counselor) and she quickly greeted us and took her time answering our many questions and showing us around. She was so nice and easy to talk with and the staff we met along the way was just as friendly, as were the residents who couldn’t say enough about how much they enjoyed living there. It was so nice to see the interactions between the staff members and the residents; it was obvious that they truly cared about each other. We were also very impressed with how many different activities there were available to residents...so many fun things going on. The upcoming events board was filled, the puzzle room was busy with residents (who quickly engaged my mother in a nice conversation and then took us girls aside to tell us just how much they really did enjoy living there) and then there were the game rooms, swimming pool, library, dining halls, meeting rooms, salon and so much more... we quickly figured out why so many of the residents were telling us they loved it there. We had no idea how nice it was at Acacia Village until we were able to see it for ourselves. So, do yourself a favor and visit Acacia Village...you won’t regret it! It's so nice to know there are facilities like this in our area! Thank you Cindy C. for spending so much time showing us around; we truly enjoyed our visits.

We have been residents of Acacia Village for over a year. It was difficult clearing out our home of 19 years, but we have downsized and made life much easier for ourselves and children. It was not difficult to adjust to resort-style living. I don't mind not mowing the lawn for hours each week, doing all my own maintenance and repairs, commuting 50-80 miles round trip for medical appointments and social events, or managing several service provider accounts, not to mention the tax bills and security issues in these uncertain times. We come and go as we wish and can partake of the many activities if we so choose. Life is good!

We have been ensconced in Acacia Village for seven months and couldn't be more content. How did we get there? Well, our son, Jim, who lives in Sauquoit, video-taped five Senior Residences in the Utica area and sent these to us. We decided to drive from southern New York to actually visit all of these places. The first one happened to be Acacia. After a thorough tour, we decided not to visit the other four residences. The staff was so concerned and joyful, the place seemed to perfectly serve our needs, so why search further to spend our senior years? Now we park our car in the garage, read newspapers and books in the library, shop locally, swim in the heated pool and vote with an absentee ballot. Heaven has blessed us and we love it here.

I attended a 70th birthday party for a resident on December 29th. The food was excellent, the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and kind. I heard nothing but great things from everyone that attended this "oops" party at Acacia. Thank you for making this a wonderful experience for the Birthday "Boy".

My brother and I looked at a number of independent living settings for our mother. Acacia Village stands out from the others in many ways. The setting is magnificent and our mother is enjoying the trees, lovely gardens and wildlife on this beautiful campus. When you approach the main building, the architecture and plantings are stunning. The buildings are immaculate – clean, always with a feel of being freshly painted. magnificent view of a terrace and surrounding grounds. The dining room is tastefully detailed with table cloths and brass chandeliers. The menu is extensive and changes regularly. The meals are excellent and presented beautifully. The serving staff is uniformed and an absolute delight to be around – without exception – they are personable, respectful and clearly caring. The chef makes it a point to serve fresh local produce when possible and there is always fresh warm bread served and a daily home made soup. The dining room is lively with spirited conversations going on at many of the tables. It was important to our mother that she has the choice of who she dines with – and she wanted the ability to change that from night to night. She did not want a setting where she was assigned to a table, which we learned is the common practice elsewhere. On nights where my mother would prefer to stay in her apartment for dinner – she can order off the menu and have what she loves to call “room service”, where they deliver dinner and dessert to her apartment. There are a wide variety of activities at Acacia – and many options and transportation to activities and events in the surrounding Utica area. Enough cannot be said about the staff. Every single individual that works there is wonderful. An over-used word, I know – but we are always struck by the genuine kindness and respect everyone shows to our mother. They are extraordinary. They make Acacia a star. Acacia Village truly allows our mother to maintain her independence while being in a setting that is lovely, safe and with people available to assist her if she needs it. The wonderful services provided in this setting allows her to use her energy for all the things she loves to do, rather than worry about everything maintaining a home requires.
