My father is in Cypress Garden Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. So far, it's been a good experience. It's only been about a month or two. We selected this because one of the floors is devoted to the Indian community, so they serve Indian food, they have Indian doctors and nurses, and the language and everything is there for him. They're very professional and so far, we love the staff. The food's spice level is medium and he likes spicy food, but it's decent. They've been doing a lot of different activities. They usually do something different every week. They had a beauty pageant for the ladies, hot-dog day, ice-cream day, and an India's Independence Day celebration, and they celebrate all the international holidays and other things with the people. They also play games, and they have a movie night.

My mother was sent to the wrong Nursing Home after being discharged from the hospital. There is nothing good I can say about this facility and many of its staff. This facility lived up the horror stories you hear about inadequate care and abusive treatment at nursing homes. After a year, I was able to transfer her to a much better facility. My mom was much happier in the new faciltiy and I felt (for the first time in a year) comfortable with the care she was receiving.

I don’t like the way they are taking care of him there at Flushing Manor Care Center. I don’t see they care so much about the patient. Their food is OK. I have nothing good to say about this facility.
