My sister was taken there to Sea Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center recuperating from an amputation operation. The bed had no safety railing and her wheelchair had no safety belt. She ended up falling out of the wheelchair onto their dirty floor and ended up with an infection in her left stump. The staff there checked her vital signs and found nothing wrong with her. She couldn't open her eyes, talking incoherently, and rocking back and forth. We were told the doctor would come by to check on her at 6 pm, we waited until 8 pm, and NO DOCTOR showed up. I had been in the room with her and her husband (from 4 pm). We ended up calling 911 around 8:30 pm and she was taken to the nearby hospital and was diagnosed with an infection in her left stump. So, if you want a place to die, Sea Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brooklyn is the place. What is their mission statement, please ask before you leave a loved one in this place because There were two other patients in her room, each with their TV's turned up. And the food was nasty, sometimes burned. This is what I saw when I visited my sister. The whole place needs to be renovated and staffed with caring professional staff that are accountable to their mission of health and safety to their patients.

my friend was sent there. He hated every minute he was there. The people who work there are rude. The food was uneatable. When he arrived he was able to walk .When he left he left in a wheel chair and unable to walk. He sat around most days doing nothing at all. Please Please do not send your loved one there.

Not much attention to patients. Rude staff. Most times staff is congrating at nurses station. How long after my mother presses her button for help does it take an "attendant" to attend to their patients?

Very greatful for all the care they gave to my mom who was recovering from a stroke. She was very sick and Im glad she was admitted to Sea Crest. Because of all of their efforts, care and support my mom is much better now and she is going home! HUGE THANKS to her nurse Juan . He was making sure that my mom received the best care! Physical and occupational therapists were very grate. Special thanks to Mohammad and Dimitriy . The social worker Yana was also very helpful. Thank you for all your care. Svetlana

My mother is currently a patient here, she is a dialysis patient and honestly it has been amazing having her do dialysis in the same building. I recommend brining your own food because the food is gross. (lol) but expected. She had a beautiful view of the ocean and the neighborhood and staff was great. CNA's were rude but you get that everywhere. Sandra was a great social worker, she explained everything to me when it came to applying for MEDICAD before Medicare cut her. so it was great having some guidance.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I've been here at Sea Crest Nursing And Rehabilitation Center for 3 weeks now and I'm anxious to leave. I want to get out of here as quickly as possible. The care is fine. I have a shared room and it's adequate. The meals are not that good. There's nothing to do other than therapy. It's a day of complete inactivity. The courtyard is closed at the moment, and I'm not happy here.

They can work on a few things, but over all the care is amazing. The 2nd floor is so AMAZING, the staff is wonderful. The admission office was also so sweet, social workers are awesome even though they are hard to get in touch with. Would recommend for short term therapy :)

My father was at Sea Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. It was the only one that would accept him because he had developed COVID in the hospital. They wanted to release him, and I didn't want him released in the condition that he was in. The only place that would accept him that had COVID was Sea Crest. However, if I have to say anything, I would not recommend the Sea Crest to anyone. My father originally went there for rehab, but they were never able to get him on his feet. He had a double leg infection due to diabetes. He had sores on his feet; so every time they wanted to give him physical rehab, it was too painful for him. So basically, he never really got a chance to recover. They were supposed to give him physical rehab, but we couldn't see him because of the COVID. By the time they wanted to release him, his legs were literally locked in a position where his knees were like bent all the way up into his chest and they couldn't get his legs down. He had to go to the hospital so they can straighten out his legs, so I don't think he was even moved. They hardly ever answered the phone. When they did, they never returned calls. It was virtually impossible to get a phone call back. My whole family would leave messages. If not messages, no one was picking up the phones. My father had meals, and he didn't like them. It's an old place, and I didn't care for them. I didn't want to send him there, but we didn't have much of a choice. I can't really go by the value for money because we were trying to get him into Medicaid because his insurance kept cutting him off for the rehab part. We were fighting with them, and I had to appeal a million different times for him to get physical therapy because he wasn't really getting it. They said he was getting it, but when I spoke to my father, he said he didn't even remember anybody coming in. If they did come in, it was more of occupational therapy, like moving his arms and stuff like that. It didn't last long because he was too weak.

They are woefully understaffed, and the person who answers the front desk does not know how to handle any questions. She transfers you to phone numbers that don't ever pick up, and then doesn't follow up. The interactions that I've had with their social workers have be ok, but all of the other departments seem to never return calls, i.e. nursing never picks up, physical therapy does not return calls, etc.

My dad went here because they have an on site dialysis. At first when my dad went in he was getting a little better, I would come every week to make sure they were taking care of him. He had respiratory issues due to end stage renal failure. I saw how the nurses treated him and yes, they are not very nice. They ignored him and put him in a diaper when he couldnt reach the bathroom. The food, was abysmal but he liked the soup. We would chat every day over the phone and we soon learned that he really needed full time care. So we started the process in moving him in full time. My dad contracted Covid-19.; Instead of getting him to the hospital, they treated his fever and symptoms with aspirin and robitussin. When I insisted he go to the hospital, it was too late. He died there. They called me to pick up his personal effects, refusing to send them to me. When i went there, they had lost it. The nurse telling me "Well there a lot of effects down there" Um so you are killing people? Do yourself a favor, dont use this facility unless you plan to visit every day and make sure they are doing what they need to do.

This facility is a horrible facility. It is dirty, filthy and the people are nasty. I took my father there against medical advice and then brought him to my house. The food was no good. They give you a separate hamper where he can put dirty clothes in. I brought him seven pairs of clothes to every day, I told them not to take it to washing, I would wash them. He wore somebody else's clothes, it was horrible.
